Title: ABDC Season 6!
Post by: MochaNutz on February 19, 2008, 09:33:25 PM
This show is pretty good.  Yeah, these shows have a bad rep these days, but give it a chance =P

I'm rootin' for Jabbawockeez and Kaba Modern.  Not just because they're asian, but i really think they're the best there.
Jabbawockeez is clean.  I'm kinda iffy on the masks, but i think its good.  Asians never really get noticed, so maybe its good to see the "white" faces.  Of course, they take them off, so you see their faces.

Kaba Modern has a hot asian girl in it.  Not that the other 2 are ugly, but i'm feelin Yuri.

I don't follow the show, but I saw Step up 2 and saw that the Jabbawockeez were in there. The masks a very recognizable, and I was like "I know I've seen them on America's Best Dance Crew.

anyone watch it too?
Heck yea! I love this show!

I'm rooting for the same 2 crews you're supporting. Haven't watched last week's episode yet (I don't get MTV - I'm from Canada, but it's playing on Muchmusic over here on Sundays) and my PVR had it down for one hour, but my brother (who watched it already) says we missed the last 2 crews in the recording. So I have to go find it online and d/l it. XD

I watch it too~ But I missed last Thursdays X.x Who got eliminated?

I'm really rooting for Jabbawockeez, just cause they're representing SD~! :D But Kaba Modern is crazy good~! So I like watching them as well.

ive been watching too. kaba modern is the shit, closely followed by jabawockeez. I really dont like break skate

i stumbled on the show by accident cus i was looking for something to watch for a few minutes before i went to work, and my tv said it was suppoed to be punk'd XD but it turned out to be ABDC and so i started following it. i freakin love dance crews and shit so it was a happy mistake~

last thursday femme 5 got eliminated, odango.

I don't really watch it, but tenkei told me about the show. And then a couple friends started talking about it.

Jabbawockeez and Kaba Modern are the favorites, obviously. Kaba Modern is awesome, but I like Jabbawockeez personally. Their routine reminds me a lot of Japanese Free Style dance crews, most notably EGU-SPLOSION.

lol haven't watched the show but I've been spending the last half hour or so watching kaba modern vids on youtube. Personally hate the format of the show and prefer to watch the home vids.

I was actually invited to attend the taping of the first episode of this show, but woke up that morning feeling like shit from the flu...

saw some vids of the show though and Kaba modern and Jabbawockeez are definately the best of the crews from what I saw.

Plus Yuri is HOT!

UCI was actually my first choice school for college but I wasn't accepted, we could have went to school together ;_;

We could've been in the crew! I would have loved to go to UCI, but there was no way I was getting in that school.

I've been watching Dance Crew also and rootin for the same crews you guys are xD. GO JABAWOCKEEZ AND KABA!!! I go to UCI (didn't think I would get in xD), so it's pretty cool seeing Kaba on TV. I got pretty excited when I saw that they were gonna be on the show and had to tell my bro about it (he's a kaba fan xD and was in the club at UCI). I heard that Kaba didn't get to use their best performers (they're great nonetheless) because they had a competition the same day of the audition or something. Wonder what it would be like if they had their best O_O.

i also wouldve went to UCI, but I wouldn't have gotten in either XD so i of course went to UCR instead :D

I've been to UCI once and really loved the campus. In retrospect I should've probably atleast tried in high school a little

I actually got into UCR but decided to stay a little closer and pay a whole lot less! :P

As much as I like hip-hop dance though I could never see myself joining a crew, I know plenty of people who have and it pretty much becomes your life XD And I always end up mocking those kind of people too

Anyways, I noticed one of the Kaba guys has the same pair of november rain sb dunks as me... damn him! First time I've seen another person with them.

I go to UCI (didn't think I would get in xD). I heard that Kaba didn't get to use their best performers (they're great nonetheless) because they had a competition the same day of the audition or something. Wonder what it would be like if they had their best O_O.

Nice! Kaba has crazy good and unique dancers, stylewise, I think they're my favorite of the college dance teams I've seen.
oh and if you know Yuri or at some point in time come to know her, hook me up! XD

My cousin goes there right now too... I should ask her the same thing

Edit: Okay nevermind, she seems to have graduated last year...

Jabbawockeez and Kaba Modern are my favorites. I don't understand why the judges love Fysh n Chicks so much.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: tenkei on February 21, 2008, 08:58:34 PM
fysh n chicks is alright, but theyre no where near good enough to go much further on the show. iconic is pretty awesome too. i was a little doubtful of them after their first perf, but then they did some nice shit in their dance battle and second show.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: tenkei on February 22, 2008, 04:51:48 AM
tonight's show was pretty boss. Jabba and KM were fucking sick; Jabba had the best perf of the night imo. I'm upset the iconic was in the bottom two, citing what i said before about FnC. though I have to admit FnC was pretty good tonight, the reverse was cool, but a little sloppy.

Status Quo and Iconic were both crazy tonight too, but I liked Iconic better. Status Quo to me is more about their crazy stunts and flips. Iconic's shit on their back was really cool.

only the third ep, but the best so far
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: StreakInTheSky on February 22, 2008, 05:42:34 AM
I like the way iconic moves, they're really quick and precise, but I sorta thought their choreography really isn't anything special.

Fish n chycks are alright dancers, but they're not really that great as a team.

Jabbawockeez are the shit.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: boykun on February 22, 2008, 07:51:49 AM
Jabbawockeez slew that shit. They best win.

Status Quo was crazy with that physical stuff.

I gotta say kaba is my fav college dance crew too XD. More on Yuri is that i heard she has a boyfriend D: and that they're inseparable i guess XD.

I just finished watching dance crew, and JABBA killed it!!! As of now I'm liking them over kaba xD.

they always have boyfriends...

whats that joke
Why is finding a woman and finding a parking space alike?
Because the good ones are taken and the rest are all handicapped.
But yeah, if I was with Yuri, i'd stick with her forever too.  She kinda reminded me of Rika this week

anyways, i too am from Toronto, so i just saw ep3 today.  Jabba is too sick.  Status Quo brought it.  I thought they really sucked before, but dang, that was creative doing the crank like that, and the skipping rope.  Jabba's defy gravity was nice too, i didnt' think they'd do it like that.

Iconic didn't have that xfactor to make them stick out, so i think thats why they got kicked out.  They're really technical, but no one notices

i just so excited when watching this..yayyyyy

I've been following the show now

I really liked Kaba's G-slide, that was good. I liked that bus move.
and Jabba, they were awesome too. I think I prefer Jabba over Kaba.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew

Jabba is gonna win this, if they don't, the show failed.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: tenkei on February 29, 2008, 07:15:49 AM
jabba's routine tonight was actually pretty weak. the only real highlight was the flair on the car, besides that everything was pretty mediocre. BUT they did the challenge really well, so its a toss up; challenge vs. routine. Kaba had the best routine imo. I'm kind of eating my words about fysh n chicks now, cus they really brought it tonight and i really enjoyed their set, but im still unsure that it was better than live in color's.

I still can't get behind break skate at all, and im still on the fence about status quo. I'm worried that status quo is going to win because they do cool stunts and america likes to see people flipping around. not saying they can't dance, but to me theyre more about how to fit in more stunts rather than throwing down great choreography like jabba and kaba.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: StreakInTheSky on February 29, 2008, 09:20:07 AM
how exactly are break sk8 still on this damn show? they suck, all they have is rollerskates. I guess it makes things a lot harder, but that makes it so they can't actually show how good they are. Quit the fucking gimmick and just show the people you can dance.

And yeah, status quo is alright, but they're not much about actual dancing though.

haven't seen jabba's last perf but from looking at the format of the last show, I can see how it can be their weakness as their not a very props kinda crew.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: claymore on February 29, 2008, 07:54:58 PM
Jabbawockeez have been coasting for the last 2 weeks. They need to realize that Kaba Modern is their main competition. Kaba Modern is always doing their best and showing their versatility. If Jabbawockeez don't get back to doing their best they can be beaten by the judges favorites Fysh n Chicks and BreakSk8. Two teams that don't compare to them.

i had high hopes for tonight with the Thriller theme and all. Kaba fucking MURDERED it!! and Jabba's set was pretty fucking sick too. despite having some nice moves tonight, Status Quo was sloppy as FUCK, I was cringing watching them. I'm really pissed that breaksk8 got a layover to next week. FnC fucking brought it tonight and have been improving greatly every week...

i don't understand why the judges like breaksk8 so much!! all the shit they did for Thriller week that was hard for the other crews was EASY for them thanks to their skates (the toe stop, the spins, smooth footwork), the headstand at the very end was the only cool thing in their routine. total fucking bullshit. my only comfort is that they will NOT make it past next week, even if the judges love them this shitty crew is NO where near the level Jabba and Kaba are, and they dont have the crowd appeal of SQ's stunts.

i can't find status quo's ep 5 perf yet =P

Jabba is sick.
Kaba was nice too, but I liked Jabba's perf better this week.

I'm glad fish n chicks are gone.  They've been on the bottom 2 like 3 times or so.
BreakSk8 is saving all their moves.  They've been getting better.  Last weeks bball perf was good.

Yuri is so cute and sexy.  She was hott on the floor last week, at the end of the dance.  This week, yay pelvic thrusts!  When She has makeup on, she still reminds me of Rika Ishikawa, but Korean.

^ looks wise... mmmmmmmmmmmm i sorta see it i guess...   BoA has like a longer head or something.  But she's got the korean milky skin =)

haha
since i started the thread, i'm allowed to put pics of Yuri on here =)
These were from her Myspace page.  Backstage pics woohoo!  And yeah, thats Hayden!
There's a girl on the Kaba Modern site that i "think" looks better than Yuri though =)  Cindy Kim, i wanna see her in action

-----

Anyways!  I think Status Quo is out next.  Then BreakSk8.  BreakSk8 is getting better with each episode, but i think the people have their favorites now and its too late for them.  I think everyone called it, Kaba VS Jabba in the finals =P  Its a tough call, i feel.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: tenkei on March 10, 2008, 09:04:06 AM
after you mentioned her looking like rika, i started to see it. esp in ep 4 when they were all made up as the 'popular' girls.

breaksk8 needs to be out next. i would love to say that the judges will give it to status quo (since itll obviously be those 2 in the bottom), but theyre all over breaksk8's jock...

any ideas on finale structure? i think it should just be an hour long battle between kaba and jabba. how epic!
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: StreakInTheSky on March 10, 2008, 09:40:52 AM
about final structure, if sticking to an hour, more than half of it will probably be montages of the season as usual with these kind of shows.

An hour long battle between two crews would be super boring and I don't know if they have it in them to choreograph and get down that much stuff in a week. :o

I want to see is a collab with the top 3 or 4 crews. That would probably be about the size of a usual dance troupe. And the differences of styles would be awesome to watch together.

Or how about some solo routines? Or a freestyle battle? Though Jabba would probably kill everyone else there

In the end, I really don't care if either Jabba or Kaba wins, both deserve it.
As long as fucking breaksk8 don't win this I'll live

I was very shocked to see Kaba Modern in the bottom two. Their "Thriller" set was the best out of all them the previous week. Personally it should have been Status Quo and Jabba in this week bottom two.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: boykun on March 14, 2008, 10:36:32 AM
The collaboration thing with all 4 crews was pretty cool. I didn't expect Kaba Modern to be on the bottom two, though. I wasn't really diggin their routine, but on I liked the second half when they mixed in some lockin'. It was great when they did the whichaways.

Jabbawockeez was great as usual. I can't see how they're not win this..

Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew

i thought this week was the weakest so far. im glad breaksk8 is gone though. i missed the collaboration dance in the beginning because i was still dwelling over the ending of lost. man....
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: tenkei on March 14, 2008, 09:19:54 PM
the collab thing was pretty cool, but i think it was kinda obvious that they didnt choreograph it. Kaba in the bottom 2 was pretty fael since theyre thriller routine was the best the week before, and status quo blew. but at least breaksk8 is finally gone. I think kaba did the best job with the theme this week, even though i wasnt really feeling anyones sets too much.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew

This theme was weak.  none of the crews made it exciting.

All of their routines were weak.

Kaba at the Bottom 2 was prolly just for suspense sake =P

I would not be surprised if they put Kaba Modern and Jabbawockeez at the bottom on the next show so they can get rid of one of them. I agree that the routines were not awesome in the latest episode. I hope next weeks theme is better.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: tenkei on March 16, 2008, 10:39:49 PM
the next theme is "the history of hip-hop" where they have to do incorporate moves from all through hip-hop's history. which to me sounds like "hey, just dance"

 I liked the latest routines o_o

It was different. I love it when teams encorporate that kinda stuff into their normal stuff.

Next week's theme is weak  It's pretty much what they've all been doing through out the show. o_o
I guess it puts them in their element or something...

I'm expecting lots more popping and bboying though.

ive heard some rumors that kaba got shafted last week; the producer of the show changed their song at the last minute (supposedly 10PM the night before the taping) so they had to change their whole routine or some shit.

and also, UCI is supposed to have finals this week, so i wonder how well theyre going to be prepared for the show :o

fuckin a, rynan's headspin was sick. I was fucking conflicted as hell watching, since both deserve like fuck to be in the finale. both crews' routines were off the fucking hook, I can't even make a decision as to who was better tonight.

I think you could even tell that the judges were like "uh srsly... status quo?" they had nothing but HIGH praise for jabba and kaba, but SQ they were like "uh... you guys arent gonna win next week" and their encore perf was fricken disgusting

I'm seriously really shocked right now X.x WHERE IS THE JABBA KABA LOVE?! I never see anyone really praise SQ, how the heck did THEY make the finale o.O I was really wantng a Jabba-Kaba finale~! That would have been wonderful~!

WHATEVER~ Now I have to vote like crazy tonight and tomorrow for Jabba <3

man, really?  Kaba is out? dang, i have to wait until someone puts it on youtube =p

What was the show format like?  someone mentioned encore perf? so they danced 2ice?
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: tenkei on March 21, 2008, 05:29:35 AM
they did the theme perfs:
SQ
Jabba
Kaba

then announced Kaba wouldnt make it to the finals

then SQ and Jabba did encore routines that they created (music, wardrobe, choreography) that were supposed to represent their true spirit

I know this has been said already but WTF?!?! STATUS QUO? It's a "rumor" but i just heard that MTV just wanted to kick one of the west coast crews to have an east coast west coast thing =.=.  Ahh w/e jaba wins anyways...at least....they better win!!

Yuri looked quite sexy tonight Hehehe...

hey socal peeps, me and boy are going to go to the Live Finale. meet us up there or some shits. here's link to request tickets, they are free.

Request Tickets Here! (http://1iota.com/events,3524,MTV---Randy-Jackson-Presents:-Americas-Best-Dance-CrewTHIS-IS-THE-LIVE-FINALE!.html) (you have to sign up with the site)

I talked to a friend who went to the recording on Tuesday, and it seems impossible to get in, even with reserved tickets. The problem is, there is entry for VIP people plus friends and family of the crews, who get priority entrance and seating. My friend who went with a group ended up not getting in, even though the tickets were reserved a week or two in advance.

I don't know about going anymore.. what's the point, we can't even see Kaba Modern chicks dance anymore! lol. But I'll make the trip if JPH!P wants to do a little meet up.

I was like in total "WTF?!" the whole time... STATUS QUO?! Give me a fucking break! Their encore performance was HORRIBLE! The whole time I really didn't know what was going on. It was a circus act and not a dance routine. I guess they are good dancers, but come on, they don't contribute to the advancement of the hip-hop dance at all. This shit has to be fixed!

And dude, Jabba's first mix jacked a dance routine mix me and some relatives did for something last year! :o
They had almost the exact same parts of Bye Bye Bye and Get Buck in Here we decided to put in it. The only thing is we had Get Buck In Here right before Bye Bye Bye. I swear they have a spy or something >_>

^ Yeah I was -really- confused about SQ's encore performance. It was a really WTF moment, when they stopped I was like "Oh, what that the end o.O" It just didn't have really good flo~ And their first "dance routine" was more stunts than actual choreography. This is America's Best DANCE crew, not Stunt Crew X.x I respect what they do, and they are good performers, but Kaba is the better dance team X.x

ok.  i saw the youtube episode 7 =P

I don't know how Status Quo got the top votes.
But, they are a street team, and the do dance street.

anyways.

Status Quo's perf was average.

Jabbawockeez vs Kaba modern.  Jabbawockeez was better.  Kaba Modern was sloppy.  I always noticed someone thats not in sync.  I think i've seen it all when it comes to break dancing.  I need to see something new.

the last 2 performances were kinda weak...

yeah, i dont really feel like going anymore anyway. not to mention that i req'd the tickets like 4 days ago and they still havent confirmed them, so i doubt we'd get in anyway.

I'm thinking this had to be fixed too, there's no way SQ could get the most votes. i think the producers wanted to get rid of kaba.

The show is fixed. Kaba Modern got screwed. Enjoy the win Jabbawockeez fans. But don't be surprised if they lose next week. I won't be watching this show anymore. I don't care who wins now.

Just saw the full show on tv.

If it was such a slim difference for SQ to get first, then Jabba has it for sure on Thursday.   Kaba Fans are Jabba Fans as well, and will vote for Jabbawockeez.

Yuri, dang, she was so hott when she unzipped her sweater exposing her white sports bra thing at the end of their perf.  Then when they did their walk, it was even better when she took off the sweater.  I still like Cindy though, her hair is sexy.

And, did you know Ben Chung from Jabbawockeez used to be in Kaba Modern? =)  thats pretty cool.  I found out on Yuri's Myspace.

lol i was saying the only good thing about KM losing was when the girls did the "walk it out" at the end XD and yeah i heard that about ben, thought that was pretty cool too.

my mom caught SQ's encore perf when she was flipping channels and she was like "o_O wtf" XD

Aiight, so i've been reading forums and stuff.  During the tapings of episode 7, the crowd was demanding a recount when SQ got #1.  They also boo'ed!

At the end of the show, they Let Kaba Modern perform their encore performance.  Of course, they didn't air it on tv.  They're gonna show it on the live show or something.

They did it on a News show, which can be seen here.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=wIU4A5ks7ns&fmt=18

Its sick.  I like it better than the Red Pill.  If it was Kaba vs Jabba in the finals, and the final votes was based on the Encore performances, I think Kaba would have won.  Victory!

----

I hope you guys don't ditch the live shows cuz of MTV making SQ#1 =)  I'm pretty sure all the crews are gonna dance again, and go all out!

Where was my freestyle battle? ;_;

The routines they had could've been better. I actually think my favorite of the night was the one from the Southern crews, lots of different styles and it had lots of cool ideas. The west coast one I thought could've killed everything concidering who was in it... but they really didn't do as well as I hoped. I think it was too short for the amount of people maybe.

After jabbawockeez it's going to be really hard to top them in a new season. But there's this one crew called Non-Stop I saw once that could possibly do it. I recommend them if you liked jabba.

dang, i have to wait until sunday again =P  Good to know that JabbawockeeZ won though.  There's so much negative talk on SQ, how they steal routines n stuff.  If its true, they should steal better ones.

I'm pretty sure next season should be just as good.  There's tons of groups out there like KM and Jabba

nice to see Jabba won!
nothing against SQ, but their style is more stunts and hard moves with little sync between members.

JABBA, on the other hand, is has more of a clean style, not messy looking, great teamwork, dancing in sync and amazing choregraphy.

Seriously I don't really get what will happen to these crews. I hear the judges saying things like "you have a great future ahead of you." wth is that supposed to mean? These crews don't get record deals or anything.
I'm not really intereseted in seeing those cheezy dance movies anyways. I hope they just continue what they do, and hopefully they won't let the popularity of this show get to their heads, cause they're not actually celebrities. >_>

streamed it from the website a little earlier.

This season has some really good crews. Most of the first half didn't impress me much, but there were some crazy crews later on. I'm pretty sure as a whole, this season will be better than last season. Just hope they don't fuck it up somehow. There are a few crews that are about the same level as Kaba and Jabba. Still pissed off they cut one of the West crews out, cause they all killed it, and a bunch of crappier crews from other parts of the US made it. The whole live audition format thing was retarded. Really though, wtf are the cheerleaders there -___- fucking JC. Then there's the white boyband from the suburbs, I already know they're the crew a bunch of people are gonna like, and that I already hate. They could dance, but shit wasn't street, and they needed a wardrobe change...

The big surprise for me was seeing Super Cr3w there, keepin it oldschool, and Ronnie rippin the jackhammers.

And then there were SoReal's isolations, which blew my mind. Especially the shit the guy did with his hands near the end.

Supreme Soul is the crew to watch though. Similar to Jabba but with a little of there own style. Have a little norcal hiphy shit thrown in there, which I hate to death. But they have to win so they can have a crew battle with Jabba in the end. :P

The Jabba special was just them and shane sparks watching music videos, and shane teaching some dance moves. Nothing special unless you wanna break down some dancing in music videos. It was funny hearing them talk cause the black guy probably had the whitest way of talking from all of them

any of the other modern's make it, like Pac Modern?  Ohh, Team Millennia?
I hope they show it in Canada again.  I haven't seen any ads for it on muchmusic yet.

-----  Edit

Dang, i just read on some youtube vids that apparently Team Millennia didn't even make it thru the live auditions...  Sucks.   I bet thats the westcoast team you're talkin about, that didn't make it.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew

Nah no moderns. No real major college teams other than team millenia made it, don't know who auditioned though.

But yeah Team Millenia... didn't want to post any major spoilers of who made it so I didn't mention names. :P

You can stream it on the website, which is really good quality and hardly any buffer(for me anyways). And without commercials, I prefer it from watching it on TV. :P

yeah, just looked it up, they're gonna show it here in Canada again!  I like it better on tv as well.  I checked out some of them on youtube.  Soul Supreme is cool.  People are saying they lost bad to Jabbawockeez in their battle.

I saw TM's routine.  I didn't really like it.  Better than Fanny Pack though.

Super Cr3w, i've been told they're big in the breaking scene.  Hopefully they can get out of their comfort zone and do something thats not breakdancing.  I haven't seen their audition yet tho.

I like So Real.  They have potential.

I dunno mans, i think Jabbawockeez set the bar too high =P
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: mode107 on June 15, 2008, 12:36:38 AM
Supreme Soul is good, I just don't like their cockiness.
So Real is is good, I'm wanting to see more of them.
I love Fannypack because they just seem like a funny dance crew, I'm not sure how long they will last.  They crowd seemed to be booing them when it came down to Fanny and that other crew

I loved Jabbawockeez performance to that master mix of The Boss, that was cool.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: StreakInTheSky on June 15, 2008, 06:54:49 AM
I actually really like Fanny Pack too. They're decent dancers, a good crew, and have something really unique which I think keeps the show fresh. The only problem with that though is they most likely won't last cause they don't seem very versatile. :/ I actually prefer them to TM cause they really don't have anything new to bring to the table, and they were pretty sloppy in the live audition, especially when you compare them to similar crews. >_>

^ oh and Supreme Soul is from the bay area... I've watched some kids in the bay area battle. Even if they suck, they act like that
But if they got killed by Jabba when they battled, SS have been practicing. Well atleast they do choreography just as well. I think it's all up to how creative they are. oh and it was actually them who did the crazy thing with the hands I was talking about earlier. XD But SoReal is good too :P

I was going through some vids and found this vid of Kaba Modern on a Filipino News show
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ho95_BK1tpQ

I was like, "wtf none of them are filipino..." Always thought they were a korean organization since they had quite a few koreans and not as much filipinos as most dance crews XD

Interesting interview which shows how annoying Filipino interviewers are >_> But they also performed a mix of some highlights from the show.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: MochaNutz on June 15, 2008, 11:05:19 PM
finally saw the live auditions on tv =)  Its way better than watching it on youtube...

Fanny Pak isn't that bad.  Their image is kinda wack, but they can dance.  They're not as bad as everyone says.
TM's routine was weak.  They're at Kaba Modern's level, but they weren't on this show.

Super Cr3w is a hardcore breaker group, i'm interested to see how they'll do the other dances they throw at them.

I also heard that Supreme Soul are liars and Jabbawockeez kicked their asses in their battle.

The asian girl on the cheerleader team has thick legs =)

Xtreme Dance Force, they surprised me!  they were good.  But, i think my Kaba Modern team this season is So Real.  They're gonna be awesome, but they aren't gonna win it =P  I think there's a lot of good teams this season tho, its hard to call who wins now.

Here's that battle, Jabba vs SS.  It was more of a Socal vs Soul Sector thing

Part 1  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHjtarG_wY8
Part 2  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5nKfm1f9z4

Kevin is awesome.

shit nice find mode.

socal fuckin STOMPED that battle. Kevin ripped the whole fucken stage up, srsly he owned the whole damn thing. Gary was great too. That fucker from boogie monsters was annoying me though... the only guys from soul sector who impressed me were Bionic who tore it up with his popping, and the J Smooth guy, he was pretty tight.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: StreakInTheSky on June 16, 2008, 09:50:52 AM
cool thanks. Thought it was an actual battle between crews, but only 3 guys from each crew that actually battled :/

That wasn't exactly fair with having ronnie, there cause the other bboys couldn't even touch him

It was cool seeing Gary there since we never got to see him on the show :/ Got a nice mixed old-school style.

Kevin killed it, but Bionic and J Smooth was crazy good too.

Wouldn't say SS got their asses kicked, but have to give it to the SoCal guys. :P
Seriously though... that one guy had to bring in hiphy stuff in there and then get his ass kicked because the other guy was able to mix in better stuff with it

And I wouldn't say SS lied when they said they won. That's the answer they should've said. When the one guy was hesitating to say they lost, I was like, "Just say you fucking won!" When you battle, never admit defeat, and just let your dancing prove what you said.

Bionic was great with the lockin', but I thought Kevin was better the second time around.

lol He was phil from jabbawockeez, didn't know his name but looked exactly like him and the name fits. :P I actually thought it was pretty funny how he would go out there

soul sector isn't supreme soul, but I think a few of them are in both, and they seem to use the same jackets

if there was another battle I wanna see it, cause this really wasn't what I was expecting >_>

Fanny Pak is this seasons Break Sk8. A gimmick group. The judges especially shane need to move on from talking about last season. I know that he loves Jaba but he needs to start appreciating how good this seasons crews are. Instead of comparing the new crews to the old crews all the time. The judging is not as good as last year and they keep getting rid of good crews.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: mode107 on June 21, 2008, 03:31:25 AM
I'm glad Fanny Pak survived. As much as I like them, I just don't think they'll make it past the next show(or at least not that long).
I liked Supreme's Soul's performace, but I agree with Shane that there was "too much" going on.
Xtreme Dance force's moves to me seemed like.. they were actually dancing for a music video.  I like that comment from JC,  about how the song is called Get loose, and everything felt really tight
I would choose Fanny Pak and Soreal cCu's performances as my favs.  Did Soreal ever say why their former studio wanted them to change their name?

I'm so glad SS choked so hard, bring down a peg. So Real and ASIID gotta be my favs so far, they both did awesome. i have great love for fanny pak too. how dare you compare them to breaksk8 lol. and i was fucken stoked that shane called out those preppy fucks, cus they WERE whack. and i cant understand why the hell that girl group is even on the fucking show... i hope they get the boot soon.

Just watched week 1 on tv.

Fanny Pack is dope, imo.  They're really intricate and original.  Don't let the 80's gear blind you to their dancing.  Both the bottom 2 groups shouldn't have been the bottom 2.

Only a few groups did well, i feel.  Most memorable are Super Cr3w, So Real, Fanny Pack, and DX.  Phresh Select was aiight.

^^ how can you say that when they were in the bottom two? It was the judges' decision. Fannypack is not a gimmick group. They dance just as well as most of the better crews. BreakSk8 were mediocre dancers with rollerskates. FannyPack has fanny packs but they don't use them in any way to take away from the dancing. And if you haven't noticed most groups have some kind of gimmick.

I'm actually in agreement with everything shane has been saying this season, when last season I couldn't stand anything the judges said, cause shane and lilmama just seemed to like everything, and JC was an asshat. I think it took last season for them to actually realize what street dancers are really capable of.

SS fucked up so bad. Now I can see how Jabba would kill them in a battle. The skills are there, they just don't know how to present them as well.

Super Cr3w kicked ass last episode. Though I think people get too distracted by the tricks and flips. But they had a fun theme, cool dancing, and did everything almost flawlessly. I have to say they represent the b-boy community really well. Don't exactly want them to win but I'm rooting for them.

The group that got kicked off really shouldn't have been kicked, though I think fannypack were slightly better. It still boggles my mind how the damn cheerleaders are still there. They were slightly better than last week, but man, they have no future in the hip-hop dance scene.

And also let me just add, SNSD is more street than the boyband crew. Get them the fuck out of there.

bottom 2 is decided by vote, elimination is decided by judges

Fanny Pak is the shit. I don't even care about the show.

Funny to see Supreme Soul blow it. And Lil Mama should not be a judge. Most of the time I have no idea what the hell she's trying to say.

I meant it was the judge's decision to kick out the other group, and not fannypack...

Something that I was curious about..
At the end of episode 2, Mario Lopez said that on the next episode, the crews would be dancing too.....   I couldn't hear well,   did he say the crews would be dancing to "our" favorite music videos, or their favorite videos?   I would wanna see them dance to something they didn't choose this time though.

I'm not gonna go into detail about the performances this week, but I liked; ,Supreme Soul,  ASIID, Soreal Cru,  and Boogie Bots.

Edit: A video I found making fun of Supreme Soul.  I also just saw this video hosted by another person at youtube, saying that he was Slim (member of SS) and that those guys are his friends. But anways, it's stupid humor but I found it funny

The Boogie bots were awesome I thought that last move by them....ah man!
I also liked that streetfighter punch one of them did

Super Crew.. I didn't like them today because I felt they were all about the tricks.  I did like the money in the air, and their ending move. (The airplane thing)

SS was okay (I'm leaning towards good.  I liked it) too.  I liked the elevator move at the end.

ive been doggin on super cr3w, but i quite liked their routine tonight, but i think they need to bring more choreography. SS was alright, but nothing to rave about. Boogie Bots and SoReal tore it up for me tonight, super cr3w would be up there too if they had a little more dancing and less tricks (though their routine was pretty fuckin sick). Fanny Pack again really cool and original. ASIID was good, they brought it, but lil mama was right, they were sloppy.

Finally saw week 3 on tv.

Super Cr3w was pretty dope.  I want a SC shirt Now! =D  Its also made by Armory Hiphop, same guys that do Jabba's shirt. I'm gettin' the jamaican color Jabbawockeez one.

Breaking is still dancing =)  I disagree with it being not considered dancing and all tricks.

Boogie Bots were cool and all, but i dunno mans, i can't get into them.

So Real Crew is dope.  The thing I hate is the main leader guy Andrew.  His stature is awkward to me.  And he's... i don't wanna say ugly, but yeah...

ASIID, i didn't like their routine. Same with Phresh Select.  Its solid, but didnt excite me... i got bored watching.

I still dig Fanny Pack.

SS was solid. Nothing super spectac though, but i liked it.

I'm glad XDF is gone.

I'm missing 1 crew... i think.. probably was just ok.

Yeah, I really liked Fanny Pak this week.
I already knew that next week's episode was gonna be Janet Jackson related before the end of this show.  lol, my TV guide screwed up the info.  Did that happen to any of you that dont have Cox Cable? (I do)  It actaully says " inspiration from pop music icons or use routines from janet jackson"    (I'm blabbing on about tv guides now :P )
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: tenkei on July 11, 2008, 08:56:57 AM
yeah, my cable said the same thing, but i dont have cox.

anyway, Fanny Pak fucked wrecked this shit tonight. no one else imo was that good tonight. most had good slow parts (soreal, asiid) but they all fucked up the speed ups. most crews got pretty sloppy during the speed ups too. hopefully the janet week will be as badass as the jacko week was last season.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew

So Supreme Soul is out... such a damn shame cause they looked like they were starting to get even better. Honestly they were the best all around dancers from the season, they just couldn't seem to get the choreography done with the challenge that well. But to me they were the best that night, and I felt really bad for them.

Lil Mama talking shit about Boogie Bots was fucking hilarious. I like them and they get better every week, but they should have been out this week. Their skills don't even compare to SS and have been one of the least clean crews since the beginning.

Now I'm going for Super Cr3w to go to the finals with So Real, but from what it looks like, Fanny Pak will probably be going there...
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: mode107 on July 27, 2008, 01:57:25 PM
Yeah, Fanny Pak seems like they have a large fanbase. I could have sworn that them (and then proabbly Super Cr3w next) had the biggest cheers when getting introduced that night.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew

havent commented in a couple weeks...

Janet Jackson ep
all of the routines were pretty great imo. upset that ASIID got let go, that was some bullshit on america's part... it was supposed to ba ASIID v SoReal final.

percussion challenge
again really good routines from all, i felt. this season is a lot more well rounded then last, but that means its jut harder to pick out stand out crews... anyway, SS was starting to improve so i was sad to them go. boogie bots is pretty cool, i dig them, but theyre the worst crew on the show right now, they shouldve been gone already. theyll be next for sure, then either fanny pack or super cr3w, i peg SoReal going to the end for sure. and i loved that judges were callin america out on their FAIL voting...

I was kinda disapointed to see Boogie Bots go, since that was like the home team for me.  Did Lil Mama say the Boogie Bots comment to their faces, or did she say that to another crew?

Now I'm rooting for either Soreal of Fanny Pak. Man, FP just killed it tonight.

She said it against SS and SC being in the bottom two, saying "The Boogie Bots don't excite me." So no it wasn't to their faces and that's what made it fucked up. Even though I agree with her, that's not something you should say as a judge when you're talking to another team.

FP killed the whole fuckin show. but all the final three was great, boogie bots deserved to go honestly. they really shouldve been gone about 2 shows ago. i really wanna see FP and soreal in the final, but i have a feeling supercr3w will make it and next week the dance off will be between soreal and FP.

Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew

SUPER CR3W!!!

haha.

I was probably the most hyped for this episode than I ever had for this show, which I really had an indifferent feeling to in the beginning. I'm actually not even that excited about the final cause to me this was the episode to watch. And they also fixed the shitty format they had from last season and all three crews got to show their routines.

I really love Fanny Pak and they were one of my favorites the entire season (I even went on a long ass rant defending them), but my crew of choice is Super Cr3w. But I know I'm probably the only one here who thinks that.

I sorta want Super Cr3w to take this now, and I know people will give me shit about it cause I already am for thinking that  . People hate on them because of their "stunts," but they can dance just as well as any of the other crews and to do what they do most likely trained the hardest from anyone and are just raw. Haters can say whatever they want about how this shit is fixed, but the only way I can see this to be fixed to cause some kinda upset is if SoReal were to be out right now. They all gave it their all and I can't knock on any of them.

But honestly I'd be happy no matter which of the 3 crews won. Each of them are that good.

I still see a bright future for atleast Fanny Pak's choreographer guy if not the whole crew. He's a genius. He actually has more potential in the industry than anyone in the show I think.

SoReal vs. SuperCr3w.
This is pretty much equivalent to the Kaba Modern Vs. Jabbawockeez finale people wanted last season =)

That was definitely sweet.

I think it's crazy how hip-hop dance blew up in the philippines, you see that stuff everywhere, it's even crazier than the whole filipino dance crew thing here, which I think is what pioneered the whole thing. XD But the thing is, there are so many of them, most of them suck
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew
Post by: MochaNutz on August 20, 2008, 06:57:40 AM
So.

SoReal Crew, they're good, but... they're not the best.  I don't think they deserve the title.  Their last 2 dances were pretty tight though.  Eatin' the SC logo was nice.

Super Cr3w, i think they should win, btw the 2.  I think they just kept SC on the show to keep the street cred.  They are good though.  I'm just wondering how many moves they bit from other breaking crews now.  That meditation move they did in the world dance, its not original.  I know where they got that from.  They're still good tho.

Really, Fanny Pak shoulda won it all.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew

So there you go, Super Cr3w.  I wasn't really for any of the two remaining crews.
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew

/me throws up the S

haha!

I've been doing that since the beginning of the season and it seem I wasn't the only one, there were Jabba, Kaba doing it, and from what I heard from their own mouths FannyPac was going for them, but that could have been for the TV cameras. :P

highlights from the episode:
SoReal's Japan hoodies, Chris's Jabba shirt, and the Westcoast routine. My three favorite crews from the season, together on stage, doesn't really get much better than that. Oh and then the Philippines flag. XD

I actually also liked the midwest routine. Looks like ASIID was able to put some personality into EDF.

I'm actually kinda interested on going to that tour thing.

Anyway, I had much respect for SoReal until the last couple episodes, all their talking about themselves really just put me off. Style that has never been seen? Maybe in Houston. And then representing for the dirty south? Yeah right, they were no Live in Color. And btw, the majority of crews do not dance in a studio anyways, and asian parents will almost never agree with their children choosing to dance over school/money, that's a given. They had the weakest sob stories. :P

^^ oh and about Super Cr3w biting sets, I've actually seen quite a few few vids they've had on youtube, and alot of the highlights they had were actually stuff they've done in their own routines and battles, like the surfing thing, and throwing ronnie around, so I'm sure most of what they did was originally from them. And you never know the areas they reach, they might have something to do with the original meditation thing.

FannyPak as a dance crew, they weren't really happening for me, but the choreography and concepts behind them was definitely the best I've seen on the show.

I have yet to see it on tv, but to me, Season 2 Finale > Season 1 Finale.  I liked how they focused on the groups this time during the region dances, instead of being all over the place.

hehe, yeah, all the westcoast teams are should be cheering for SC =P

Honestly, I think its MTV's fault for giving the crews crappy stories.  I think they screwed with Supreme Soul, always trying to make them look like the Cocky group. No one likes Cocky people.  They also pushed the So Real Cru Parents thing too much, that people got annoyed.

I liked the SRC and SC routine.  It was like a battle.  I think i respect SRC more now, cuz they can go hard when they have to.  I also think they had the best group dynamics.

---

dunno if y'all saw this, but Yuri and Taeko have a website doing interviews backstage n stuff.  Their interview skills suck, but its Yuri and Taeko =P  I never liked Taeko tho.

just got done watchin it.

show opened with a collab routine of jaba and supercr3w (choreographed by shane?!) which was pretty sweet.

Kaba tore it up, of course. fuckin great to see them again.
Fanny Pak might've had the most fun routine. hard to choose between them and kaba.
SoReal was impressive as well, but nothing you havent seen from them before
Breaksk8 is fail as usual, but it wasnt too bad to watch.
apparently SQ broke up after the show cus E-knock was a douche lul. but they got back together to perform for the show. SQ wasnt bad, but basically the same.

was going to post some youtube's, but nothing up yet lol

voting between the top 3 chosen by the judges, top 2 vote-getters will battle on the VMA opening act thing and the winner of that battle will present the award for best dancing in a video later that night.

judges choices:
-Kaba
-Fanny Pack
-SoReal
like that was any surprise...lol
dammit, i don't think they're showing it in Canada.  I can't watch it on the mtv site cuz of the stupid American rules of no one can watch outside the US =(

I saw it on Youtube, but the quality sucks donkey balls.

Kaba Modern is ill.  They should win.  If they were in Season 2, they woulda won.
Man, notice how they kept like 4-5 cuts of Yuri?  They almost totally missed Cindy's mills.

^ That's what proxies are for. ;)

Just stick some US proxy(search for one in google) into your network connection options, and that usually works.

But I don't think they're showing it on the website anyways. :/

Kept forgetting to watch it, so I watched the routine highlights that they do have on the website, which is 30s from each. But just from what I saw, Kaba's routine was fucking SICK! I almost never say that word, but that's really the only word that comes to mind.
And I enjoyed everything I saw, and from those clips everyone brought some of their best. And  @ BreakSk8's airflares. They got better, but I still say they need to get rid of those skates and show how they really dance before I can really give them any props.

They'll probably replay it on TV again so I gotta remember to set an alarm or something. Need to get me some TiVo/DVR when Season 3 comes around.

Kaba's routine was sick as always. FP's routine was fun and awesome as always. its so hard to choose between those two!! two pretty different style, but both are so awesome. anyway, i didnt watch the actual VMAs to see who won the preshow battle, but from what I heard FP took it.

FP won but they didn't actually do anything on the show... though Rihanna's dancers were pretty much them so. :P

 nice. Quest, most of them were in the same crew as my cousin's boyfriend's hip-hop dance crew. There's a hot girl in there too from what I remember, unless she was just their friend. A couple of them also made it pretty far on Do You Think You Can Dance.

Beat Freaks seem like veterans in the industry.

Watched Boxcuttuhz for the first time, probably my favorite so far, their style is just sick.

One of the worst things about the format of this show is that they probably cut a bunch of dope crews from the auditions to add more variety and have people from different regions. Cause really, all bias aside, there are too many dope crews from the west coast that some of those crappy crews from other regions would beat them out.

A couple of them also made it pretty far on Do You Think You Can Dance.

Yea, I recoginized that Hok guy in Quest. I don't watch So You Think... but I happened to see his second audition for the show, and it seemed like he was a fan favorite/

I'm watching the premiere, and all I have to say it that it looks pretty good so far.

Best season hands down. There was not one crew I thought was particularly bad and thought every crew brought something.

Highlight of the show for me was hillbilly boy slapping that girl's ass. You can tell they didn't really hip-hop dance though. Out there in the boonies probably their only exposure was popular media. I do hope they use this show to learn cause they are super good at what they do.

TM gets points for the Head Automatica... but didn't use the song enough. :/ They didn't really impress me with that "new" style though. Good but nothing new I thought.

I had my doubts about Fly Kicks but I loved them. Not your average "Sexy Girl" crew. First of their kinds I thought really deserved to be on the show.

GOP was good, but they really aren't that strong of a crew.

And Boxcuttuhz get big ups from me. They pretty much embody everything I love about hip-hop dance. There was no way Dynamic Edition could have beat them. But it was probably all for the show.

Beat Freaks. Awesome, but for an all girl group... there wasn't any hotness... >_>

Quest, dope as always.

Strikers were cool, but I wonder about later on with the challenges.

And Main Event were just crazy

Strikers - nice energy, cool to see a new style on the show

Beat Freaks - shit, finally an all female crew that can stand up with the male breakers

GOP - came nice with the salsa style, but overall kinda weak, a little slow and soft

QUEST - fucking great. they have a little bit of everything, just a really great set.

Fly Khicks - a little sloppy imo, but still good. at least theyre not like last years dance team

Ringmasters - wtf... shit was crazy, but i didnt really like them. reminds me too much of status quo, not enough dancing and too much circus shit... but i gotta say their prop work was good.

Boxcuttuhz  - they do the kind of style i like most with the intricate choreography plus a cool theme/theatrical thing to it

Dynamic Edition - woah, i didn't i was gonna like them, but i thought it was cool. like sits said, you can tell hip-hop isnt their forte, but i liked how they injected it into their clogging and were actually able to pull it off. and they were hella clean and their formations were tight as hell

TM - i was upset when they didnt make it last season so i was happy to see them this year. cool stuff, you can tell they can do a lot of different shit.

overall i think QUEST and Boxcuttuhz are the top. Beat Freaks will be the crew to watch out for and I'm excited to actually see what Dynamic Edition can do... It'll be interesting to see what some of these crews boasting new styles can do with the challenges. This is for sure the most well rounded season. I don't think Fly Khicks should've beat GOP in the sudden death... they were a little soft in their set, but I thought they did well in the dance off

Oh yeah ring masters.. I knew there was something weird when I saw MainEvent up there.

Actually thought Fly Khicks's battle set was better than GOP's, and better than their original set. It just had more energy and even added lots of tricks to their style. GOP was good, but they're average fair for a bboy crew. Nothing wowed me other than them being from the streets of PR. Just about any bboy can salsa, SC did it. Put them head on against another bboy crew like Quest or SuperCr3w, and they'll get destroyed.

My takes on the crews =)

First, this is the most versatile season yet.  I thought it was gonna be wack when i heard they were looking for more different styles, but thats definitely not the case.

Strikers - Stepping is cool.  It's like Stomp the Yard =P

Beat Freaks - pretty good, i was actually expecting more breaking from them, but i was surprised with more dancing. Do you find it unfair tho that a lot of them have danced professional already tho?  I still love Rino =P

G.O.P. - yawn. Glad they're out.

Quest - pretty dope.  I thought their audition was kinda weak, but they brought it on ep 1.

Fly Khicks - again, i thought they were gonna be the Sassx7 cheerleaders of season 3.  I'm glad i was wrong =)  I like sexy dance moves.

Ring Masters - Is this considered dancing?  It's cool and freaky and all, but... it feels like a circus act.  I have a feeling i'm gonna get tired of "Flexing".

Boxcuttuhz - I really hope boxcuttuhz do well.  I'm don't think they have much charisma though, and i don't like that nerd theme.

Dynamic Edition - i was impressed by them. But i agreed with the judges, they need more HIP HOP!

Team Millennia - meh.  They're good, but i dunno...  I don't really like this new Rock Theme they're going for.

If i were to predict now, its Quest vs. Beat Freaks

Well, Ring Masters did some hip-hop dance around the contortions, and all the contortions were on beat and choreographed according to the music. It's a new style so it'll grown into it's own like krumping has over the last few years, and even b-boying did.

k, so finally watched it on tv.  i'm hoping these crews can offer more than what we've seen.  I don't want teams to fall back on their gimmicks and styles on every show.

re: ringmasters, sure i guess so. Seeing other flexing videos, it looks like a more tighter/closer modification of popping with arms in weird places, and using your hat.  Ringmasters was more like, "look at me, i can dislocate my shoulders!".
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew

watched the 2nd ep on watchabdc.com =P

Boxcuttuhz, yeah... my overall feeling is that they weren't ready for ABDC.
Thats the Team Millennia people are familiar with =)
I'm still not feeling RingMasters, but i like em better than the last show.
Dynamic Edition was ok... didn't blow me away.
Beat Freakz was ok as well... didn't impress me like the last show.
Strikers was DOPE tho!  One of my favorite teams now.
Fly Khicks... weak.
Quest was Dope as usual.

I still gotta watch it on tv to get a real feel =)

only watched the last part but sucks for Boxcuttuhz. I knew they were out first few seconds of their set really. It was fun, but nothing special about it. Looks like they were lost in mixing the challenge and the choreography and didn't really add any style to it, which is what I liked about them. They should've at least ditched the nerd theme. Seems they were trying too hard to be different? I dunno.

Team Millenia were good, but I thought I was watching So Real again in lots of it. Still better than last week's, which kinda gave me a poser vibe with that "rock" theme. Cause they ain't rockers.

I agree with most of what the judges said about Ring Masters.

I didn't get to see the other crews so I'll edit or post again.

Quest and Strikerz were the best for ep 2, and beat freaks was pretty good too. I'm already sick of ringmasters. im still digging the other teams, but no one else was really that impressive. I'm upset boxcuttuhz had to go

So I just read that Rino from Beat Freakz in one of Gwen Stefani's former Harajuku girls :o

Quest Crew rocked it tonight!!   I also liked the Strikerz.

and lol at Shane's White Chicks reference towards the Dynamic.  XD

So I just read that Rino from Beat Freakz in one of Gwen Stefani's former Harajuku girls :o

She also danced for Britney.

Also some other random tidbits, Lydia Paek is also a part of Quest.  Some members of TM (Wobz, and someone else) are part of the main Boxcutters.  All those Cali kids know eachother =P

---

Heard TM got eliminated.  Dang, Wobz was getting hotter every episode.

Knew there was a cute girl in Quest, just didn't know she was in front of my face this whole time. XD

Haven't gotten time to watch the last episode nor have I seen the full 2nd ep. I guess I'm really not feeling this season anymore? It's gotta be cause boxcuttuhz are gone... and if it's true that now TM is gone... I'll probably stop watching. The only reason for me to watch is Quest, and I don't really care about them all that much... I liked the variety, but only in the background of the stuff I really like. >_>

the 3rd was pretty good i gotta say... i should commented when i first watched cus i dont remember who i really liked and stuff lol... there was only like 2 crews i didnt think were that great. and im quite upset that ringmasters won over TM, that was such a bullshit producer call... sometimes i hate this show and want to stop watching it
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew

finally saw ep 3 =)

Top Tier: Quest, Beat Freaks, Strikers (TM)

Bottom Tier: Fly Khicks, Ring Masters, Dynamic Edition (Boxcuttuhz, G.O.P).

TM Is gone, but i don't mind.  They didnt' really excite me, except for Ms Kristine Bueta.  They were clean, but they weren't too popular, and we all know these voting shows is about popularity at times.

Ringmasters are creative, but still, i see don't really consider them dancing yet.  Even when they do the choreo, its SO fucking messy.  They're not a choreo group though.  Flexing is pretty damn dope when its freestyled though.  I think its freestyle, that is.  I'm wondering why they don't do that in their performances.

Beat Freaks brought it!  You can totally tell they've got the most exp in the game.
Quest was dope too, the crowd loves them.
Strikers is pretty damn dope too.  Those guys surprised me.

I think its time for Dynamic Edition to get off the show.  Fly Khicks are sexy, but not ABDC winners.

I still call Beat Freaks vs Quest in the finale =)
Title: Re: Randy Jackson Presents: Americas Best Dance Crew

4th ep was way solid! everyone did a good job, even ringmasters finally put in a good performance. i thought it was pretty close in the face-off actually, and knowing ABDC's track record, I was actually pretty surprised that they let ringmasters go. Quest, Beat Freaks, and Strikers are indeed the top, but I still love Dynamic Edition and Fly Khicks is still doing pretty well.

fuckin A!! I don't care who wins, both Quest and Beat Freaks are fucking sick and both deserve it. Quest's decathlon challenge was fucking GNARLY, everything about it was just awesome. Deat Freak's decathlon perf wasn't as up to snuff as the rest of their nights, but it was still freaking awesome. Both of the original routines were pretty good and interesting, too. This is the first season that the finale has been fucking right. This is how it shoulda been season 1 with kaba and jaba...

It doesn't matter who wins, theyre both fucking awesome.

like whoa! sick performances by Beat Freakz and Quest Crew, and nice booty poppin' by Fly Khicks.  I think both BF and QC have talent, but i would like to see Beat Freakz go all out and win ABDC. I think they are the underdogs right now, if they can come up with something fresh for the final episode they have a chance to be the first all-female ABDC.

dang, what do you vote on, the whole season, or the final last dances?  Beat Freakz were killing the whole damn season, but Quest  murdered the finals where it counts!  Tough decision, for reals.  They both deserve it, i don't care who wins.

---

Fly Khicks, that was their best perf.  They totally became better dancers from beginning to end.  I think i like Wendy the best, she's tall, but sexy =P

Congrats to Quest for winning the title. I knew they were going to take it.  I'm also happy for beat freakz that they made it this far and got their message across for the world to see.  I love both crews so It would have been bittersweet either way. ={

Now, how do the winning ABDC crews rank against each other?

THis is how i would rank them, but I still think they all offer something different to the dancing world, It's just Quest Crew is incredibly fun to watch and very entertaining.

1. Quest Crew
2. Jabbawockeez
3. Supercrew

They should have top crew battle. That would be too sick. :]

i was thinking about that too.  best of/allstars show, the top 3 from each season (even tho it includes SQ, but it gets Fanny Pak in).

JBWKZ, SQ, Kaba Modern, Super Cr3w, SoReal, Fanny Pak, Beat Freakz, Quest, Fly Khicks.  There's your 9!

ABDC proves again, Asians are the best Dancers =D
i still prefer JBWKZ over Quest.

AfroBoriké
Artistry In Motion
Beat Ya Feet Kings
Fr3sh
Massive Monkees
Rhythm City
Southern Movement
Vogue Evolution
We Are Heroes

i think i've seen Fr3sh tho, they're a filipino group. I think Massive Monkees is a breaker group.  On wiki, it says One Be Lo of Binary Star fame is in the group.  I think those 2 teams fill in the filipino quota for the show, haha.

VE is pretty good, but to me it doesn't seem like they're evolving.  Its the same stuff all the time, Liomy whatever keeps doing that upsidedown fall move all the time, and they're just doing their gay moves.  There was this pretty sick backstage vid i saw on the ABDC blog where Liomy was freesytling, and she was doing some pretty awesome suicide/dying moves.  The sickest was when she stabbed her chest and snapped her own neck. Dirty!

Anyways, VE is gone.  I'm a fan of We Are Heroes, cuzzzzz i found Mami Kanemitsu (the short sexy jp girl who took off her bra) on Facebook and i'm talkin to her =D

No matter what they do, westcoast teams are always gonna win =)  Cali is like, THE place to go if you're serious about dancing... from what i see.

AfroB was entertaining, but We Are Heroes deserve it.  I think they've grown the most. Everyone else was just... dancing their own normal thing.

Season 5 is 2 days away =)  15 crews, new Judge (shane sparks got arrested for touching kids or something), new season!

SOUTH

Jungle Boogie
Hometown: Stone Mountain, GA

Led by a feisty female, these dancers pride themselves on their southern “Crankin” style and are on a mission to become king of the dance jungle. Cranking uses big step movements and arms to cover the entire dance floor. Each of the six members has a unique animalistic move to wow this year’s competition.

The crew was started by twin brothers, Anthony and Antwain, who quit college to pursue dance despite their family’s disapproval. In response they put this fun loving and goofy crew together and now consider the group an extended family. The twins’ family still has never seen them dance but they are hoping to win back their love and support as they perform on ABDC.

Ghost
Hometown: Houston, TX

Ghost is a crew that has faced a lot of adversity in life, and dance has always been a refuge. In fact, they all met through their local dance venues over the past five years seeking a way out life’s hardships, gangs, and family death.

Using dance as an escape, crewmember Patrick decided to better his life and leave the rough life of gang banging with the Crips behind him. Unfortunately, there would be more struggle to come. Soon after leaving the gang, Patrick’s mother died from heart failure. They whole crew looked up to Patrick’s mom as if she was their mother — it was a loss for all of them.

They crew would break into a local apartment complex gym room to be able to practice dance. They consider their style inspirational hip-hop and they plan to offer up some of the best musicality we have seen on this show with hard hitting, complex movements. As dancers they are a tight unit and their personal hardships have brought them even closer

X-treme Motion
Hometown: Houston, TX

These former Texas Southern University majorettes are bringing their bootylicious bucking style to the mainstream stage. These high energy, acrobatic, and stunt filled Southern belles are on a mission to show the world their majorette style of dance that is “often imitated but never duplicated.” Their style is influenced by both street jazz and hip-hop, but what really makes them distinct is an intense booty shaking move they call “buckin’.”

Royal Flush
Homtown: Atlanta, GA

This crew has auditioned every season, and their refusal to give up has finally paid off. Changing members after each audition, the crew believes they finally have their dream team for success on America’s Best Dance Crew. Educated on the streets, this diverse crew’s styles include krumping, tutting, popping, breaking and even a hint of salsa.

They do not claim to be “professionally trained dancers”, leading to difficulties in finding work in the dance industry. America’s Best Dance Crew is finally offering them something no one else would: the opportunity to be champions.

Swagger Crew
Hometown: Atlanta, GA

Tired of trendy club dances, this brash Atlanta crew feels it’s time to put true Southern street dancing on the map. These confident dancers are fired up by the complete absence of Atlanta crews’ represented on past seasons of America’s Best Dance Crew and know they have what it takes to put Atlanta on the map. When the crew started, they knew they wanted to bring a little sex appeal to their street crew. The key component to this crew is their lone female member Elizabeth. Elizabeth wants to break all female dancing stereotypes with her hard-hitting moves.

It’s been a tough year for crewmember Jason. Seven months ago his sick mother fell asleep one night when the house caught on fire and she barely escaped. Jason had to move back home and has been spending all his money to rebuild the house. The house is almost finished but he is deep in debt. The crew has rallied around Jason, and such set backs have only made the Swagger Crew stronger and more confident as a unit. With a combination of southern cockiness, fast footwork and determination this crew is ready to bring some raw swagger to the America’s Best Dance Crew legacy.

EAST

Saltare
Hometown: Raleigh, NC

These professional jump ropers are seeking exposure for their sport while at the same time conquering the dance world. They have walked away from their college degrees and steady jobs in pursuit of a dream: to become professional jump ropers and pioneers of a burgeoning sport.

All six members are a part of the USA Jump Rope All Star team, which only features the best of the best in the country. Saltare comes to America’s Best Dance Crew to expose the sport they’ve dedicated their lives to, challenge themselves in a different arena and prove that jump rope is more than just child’s play. Now they must incorporate their unique skill set into major dance performances. With America watching, will these jumpers be able to transition their trademark jump rope into viable dance routines on the America’s Best Dance Crew stage?

Blueprint Cru
Hometown: Montreal, Canada

This Canadian crew is out to storm the home of hip-hop and demonstrate a level of synchronicity not seen before. Being the first-ever foreign crew to compete on America’s Best Dance Crew, Blueprint has a lot to prove. And for this crew, the name Blueprint is more than a title: it’s a creed. Precision, precision, precision, that’s their motto. Every move this crew does, they do as one, moving together. This dance crew is run like an army, training hard to look like one unit, to learn the origin of the move, and then striving to perfect them. This perfectionist crew doesn’t believe in tricks and stunts, they believe in unified movements down to every minute detail.

In the six years since the group started these Montreal natives have become the premiere crew in the Canadian dance world. But making a name for themselves in the country where hip-hop was born would be the ultimate barometer of success.

Legendary Seven
Hometown: Boston, MA

Legendary Seven are proud to call the hard streets of Boston home, and are quick to tell you they are one of the last true street crews from Bean Town. Their performances revolve around breaking, krumping, and popping but most importantly, big tricks.

Crew leader “E-Knock” Phillips and fellow Legendary Seven member Darius Rutledge are no strangers to Americas Best Dance Crew. They were both members of the Season One crew Status Quo which finished second only to Season One winners The JabbaWockeeZ. This time around losing is not an option. This means their tricks are even bigger and more imaginative then before.

Static Noyze
Hometown: Cambridge, MA

Static Noyze has always felt like the outcasts, never really feeling like they fit in with anyone but each other. Bored with what they call “stock hip hop” routines and moves that they’ve seen before, this off-the-wall group of dancers promises to shake up the America’s Best Dance Crew stage with their distinct style of dance. They consider themselves to be innovators of dance and describe their dance style as hip-hop with a contemporary twist. What makes them truly unique though, is that they use their routines (which they refer to as their “creations”) to convey offbeat stories told through cutting edge moves and costumes.

Leading their style brigade is crewmember Peter, a makeup artist by day and drag queen by night. As a drag queen he’s known as Baby Gaga. But even in this world he feels like an outcast saying, “there aren’t a lot of short Asian drag queens in the world.” Static Noyze does not mind being called odd. In fact, they embrace it. These eccentricities are what make Static such a unique group and they hope America finds their unconventionality charming, and become Americas Best quirky Dance Crew.

draZtik
Hometwon: Providence, RI

Predominately self-taught from music videos, draZtic is set to prove you don’t need major street cred to hang with the big dogs of America’s Best Dance Crew. Being one of the only dance crews in Providence, RI, they do not garner much respect. However with choreography that is an innovative combination of contemporary and ballet fused with popping and hip-hop they plan to earn respect. Because they are all skilled in different styles, draZtik adheres to an unconventional philosophy of leadership by committee. Each member plays an equal role in the design and choreography of every performance. Although this philosophy can sometimes lead to tension amongst members, draZtik feels it ultimately gives them an edge over other crews.

WEST
The Blended Projekt
Hometown: West Covina CA

The Blended Projekt is a crew of young dancers (including three 16-year-old members) who combine traditional clogging with hip-hop dance in a technique they call “blending.” While clogging has been on America’s Best Dance Crew before, it has certainly never looked like this. Tired of what they considered the nerdy traditional clogging style, Blended Projekt rips the taps off their clogs and fuses them to their trendy sneakers. Now, when they perform, this band of hip-hop lovers can keep its young, hip look while maintaining its classic clogging technique.

BreakEFX
Hometown: Denver, CO

This co-ed breaking crew hopes to break the mold of the B-boy stereotype and prove once and for all that breakers can do choreography too. They consider themselves the first b-boy-choreography crew. The boys and the girls of this crew have trained in all types of dance including hip-hop, jazz and ballet. As this season’s “breakin’crew,” they know they have a lot to live up to in the shadows of Massive Monkees, Season 3 champions Quest Crew and Season 2 champions Supercr3w but they are confident in their abilities and say “we have the one thing they didn’t have: choreography.” BreakEFX is poised and ready to reclaim the America’s Best Dance Crew title for breakdancers everywhere.

Heavy Impact
Hometwon: North Hollywood, CA

These big boys are out to break negative stereotypes and prove dancers come in all sizes. These guys have big hearts and hope they can inspire others who have a passion for dance saying “no matter what the size, if you love to dance, you are a dancer.”

Heavy Impact hopes that their combination of infectious feel-good dancing and inspirational charm will win over America, but they know this isn’t going to be an easy feat. They know when they walk out on that stage, people are going to assume they are a joke based on their appearance and this has been a hurdle they have faced their whole lives.

Poreotix
Hometown: Westminster, CA

These shaded showmen inspired by robots aim to entertain the dance world with their unexpected humor and revolutionary mixed style. Over the last couple of years Poreotix have laboriously honed their craft of popping and robotic movement and are at the pinnacle of their game. The way in which the crew blends the different dance styles gives them a distinctive animated look, and their integration of humor makes their performances fiercely entertaining. Poreotix are true showmen and never perform without their trademark shades. They use them as a tool to hide emotion so they can provide unexpected twists in their routine, taking the audience from serious to funny without tipping their hand.

Unfortunately, crewmember Justin Valles has more on his plate than just winning the ABDC title. During this season’s auditions, Justin’s father was hospitalized for liver and kidney failure. He has since been released from the hospital but has been rejected for a liver transplant. They are unsure how much longer Justin’s dad can live without a new liver. This obviously weighs heavily on Justin’s mind and he feels blessed to be able to give his family the joy of watching him dance in these unfortunate times.

This crew has captured a special style and is extremely confident they will be crowned the next winner of Americas Best Dance Crew.

Hype 5-0
Hometown: Honolulu, HI

Driven to prove that Hawaii has a thriving hip-hop community, Hype 5-0 is out to show there is more to Hawaii than swaying grass skirts and coconut bras. With limited funds for travel, Hype 5-0 has honed their skills by spending countless hours on the Internet studying crews from the mainland. Now after conquering the island dance scene with imported moves this hard-hitting crew is ready to export themselves to the mainland and take America’s Best Dance Crew by storm. They have immense Hawaiian pride and incorporate native dance moves in all of their routines.

Relishing the fact that they are often underestimated and overlooked, Hype 5-0 is ready to roll through the ABDC crews like an unstoppable lava flow.

I am pumped to watch this season's crews, I have been watching since season 2, and they always have talented crews out there, except for last year, that latin group was just weird IMHO

Oh well tomorrow!

word. this season looks pretty good, actually.  Blueprint Cru has 2 guys from So You Think You Can Dance Canada in it.  Poreotix is in, and they have the charisma and humour to go all the way.  Heavy Impact is pretty agile for a big group, They definitely surpised me.  That Skipping Rope Crew is pretty dope as well.  who else... Hype 5-0 i like, Static Noyze is interesting, but won't win.

i don't remember the rest =) Westcoast crews always are the strongest, and i won't be surprised if Poreotix wins. Who would have thought a crew would dance to Taylor Swift? =)  They only pop, but like i said, they have the charisma to win it. In the end, is always the vote that counts the most

i bet that 15yr old girl is gonna be back later on in the future seasons =P

edit: oh, and i want Blueprint vs Poreotix for the finals =)  and i think Static Noyze would be the team to watch out for

When watching the MTV commercials, I kept hearing "season of the superstars"; I was thinking it was a special alumni season.

haha, same =)

Just noticed US people get to watch it on tues? We're 2 days late here in Canada.

Any favorites so far? Request won Hip Hop International 2010. I think i Am Me is overrated, cuz everyone kept talking about them. They just didn't convince me yet.

Street Kingdom dudes are hardcore =) The originator of Krump, yo! I just hope krumpin' is still relevant in dance music today.

Jabawockeez i think cant be beaten as the best. When i see the previous seasons of ABDC , i can compare how great JAbba still are to them. Noone can beat them, IMO. unless...|?
