Ahh Yurina :lol: She was my fave Berryz member for a while, I think mostly because she was pretty and her easy going, quiet personality just were perfect for me at the moment. But then I watched more Berryz vids and noticed she was so quiet I could hardly notice her, so I switched a favourite. I still like her, though, and think she could bloom into one of the prettiest H!P girls one day.
It's funny she's so tall, but so quiet/harmless - makes me think of a gentle giant, or something. :D

especially her high note and head tone....I love it so much :heart:
however, I think she needs to practice more about power in singing
coz she still has problem to control low note and she should add more dynamic to her voice

I just wanted to post here after watching the Yurina solo version of the Berryz 2006 Summer Concert several times over the past week. Yurina is just AMAZING throughout the whole concert with her energy and expressiveness. I've watched some of the other solo DVDs and none of the other members seem to have as much fun as Yurina does throughout the entire concert (except Chinami, perhaps). I've long avoided Berryz because they seemed way too kiddy, but I couldn't resist Yurina's ability to be genki without being overly childish.
Miyabi/Momo may be the voices of Berryz, but Yurina is the heart of Berryz for me. Actually though, I like Yurina's speaking voice the most. It's relaxing and always brings a smile to my face. I'd pay good money for a CD of Yurina just talking about whatever she wants.

Sorry just had to get that off my chest! I just "discovered" Yurina and Berryz this past week and I'm hopelessly hooked.

Unless there' some kind of specific hand movements(like in, i think, nacchu koi, they have them using opposite arms) then they always hold it with their left so they cant do the dance moves with their right.
Anyway else feel like with this concert Yurina is back, like it seemed at one point she was slightly loosing some control over her voice (especially in nyoki) but it seems she's now finally, totally gotten over that!

It's funny, I've always HATED Yurina...her nose, her smile, etc. But lately she's gotten much more attractive. Plus she reminds me of a girl I recently met. I'm a person who hates eyebrows if they're too freakin' thin. So I didn't care so much about them. XD
Plus the shape of Yurina's eyebrows are quite good, so any worry about them shouldn't last long cause all they needed was a good pluck. :lol:

In the early days of Berryz, I never noticed her much. Then I resented her for growing taller than me (since back then no member of H!P was taller than me, it was sort of a big shock XD). My Yurina story: I'm not sure there's really a story. She just caught my attention when I was getting into everything. (She wasn't the only one, though.)
My favourite thing about Yurina: Her height and her voice. She's around my height, so I definitely relate to her that way. :heart: And I think she has a lovely voice.
A memorable performance: I don't remember the song, but she performed it with Chinami, in those neon-ish green and blue outfits during a concert. Loved that performance.
A moment that made me laugh: Yurina's reaction to the van-guy in the Alo Hello.
A moment that surprised me: Kumai in the BaseBallBears commercial. I didn't know she still had it in her, so it was a wonderful surprise.

My Yurina story: First saw her in the KNJ PV and thought she was pretty badass because of her serious face. I thought she was cool in the SG PV. Watched a few Berryz DVD magazines and found out that she's one of the more softspoken members.
My favourite thing about Yurina: Her personality and her voice. From the concerts I've watched, she may not be the best singer or dancer in Berryz, but she's definitely one of the members that gives her all during performances.

Speaking of blogs: just last week, Kumai-san was proud to announce that she’d been posting on hers every single day for more than two weeks. That streak has now ended.

Kumai-san: Well, it’s… if I’d kept going, I would’ve only made the fans expect too much of me.

I've always loved the thought of how small I would appear standing next to her...I mean look at how tiny Airi looks in that pic! XD H!P needs to start recruiting some tall girls again, at least to balance out all the shorties they have now.

Think she was 176 cm when she 13 years old.
Saw a picture of her a couple of years okay with a man and a woman (the woman was
a well known athlete, and can't remember who the man was)
They were all the same height, Yurina and the woman were in flat shoes. The two others were
known to be 190 cm tall, thus Yurina was their height. In other words,
Yurina is about six feet two inches tall.
Unlike athletes in basketball and volleyball, where the height is exaggerated in press stats,
I think an idol who is surrounded by girls who are between 150 to 160 cm, HP agreed
to leave it at 176 cm publicly.
Of course they didn't stop from constantly doing the 'Let's put Momoko next to Kumai' for farts and giggles....

Found it. They do a quick introduction of the guests (all tall people), and get to Yurina a little after the 4:00 mark, and measure her height soon after that. :thumbsup

It works. For some reason, it looks like someone flagged the video as needing to be "18+", so you just need to turn off the "Age Gate" setting on DailyMotion.
