I'm from France and personnaly, i don't listen french music except some rap and rnb.

I have her album Mes Courants Électriques and it was surprisingly decent. I don't follow the French music scene, so I don't know about her no longer being hip.

Anggun is from Indonesia where she was a sort of rock singer there but she left her country b/c she wanted to sing a new genre of music b/c it's hard to change your style in Indonesia. So she left and went to England (she already knew english b/c her father taught it to her) but for some reason she hated england so she went to Paris and loved it there. Then she learned french and made english and french songs but mostly french songs. I really like her stuff but it's hard to find her cds so i haven't been able to get one.

As for Alizee, I saw her on a japanese snack commercial and i was like "who is this white girl and what language is she singing?" but then i found out about her and downloaded her videos and a couple of her performaces. She also has i think 2 of her songs in english for her fans in England. It seems like she is (or was) really popular probably for her whole "lolita" thing but her voice isn't that great. In recordings she sounds so soft but in her concerts she sounds stronger but not as pretty sounding.

i'm not going to make any comment on the french music scene, because it's a little bit early in the day to start cursing and cussing... :twisted:

I mean, anggun is really good and she is nothing like typical pop music anywhere but i don't think she makes that many appearances to be very popular. Plus, she's not really young like Alizee.

But Alizee, she has some good songs but the quality of her songs and her dancing isn't the best thing in the world. I mean, from reading from her offical website they make it seem like she's the french britney spears (the ONLY way she's anything like britney is that the press makes a fuss about thier revealing outfits and stuff and the both give similar excuses for it like "i just wanted to wear something shiny" or "it was just a stage costume").

She's got the worst choreographed videos, but I find myself listening to her songs over and over, lol. I know more Quebec singers than France singers, but I like Natasha St-Pier, Martin Deschamps, Lachicane, Stefie Shock, absolutely not Celine Dion, Eric Lapointe (sometimes), Kevin Parent (sometimes), I liked a few songs by Isabelle Boulay, hmm. There are a lot of cool underground French rappers from there too in Montreal and in Quebec City I met. If you'd like to hear some, just let me know.

In my opinion, the best french singer EVER is Mylène Farmer... She's just AWESOME, and really impressive. :o She doesn't do any promo and her singles, albums, concert tickets sell like HELL :shock:

By the way, french punk IZ DA BEST.

She's 18 right now, and i've read somewhere that she's trying to make a come-back with a new album, but it keeps being postponed again and again by the record company.

Also, to me, Clara Morgan is the opposite of an attractive girl (based on my personel tastes, of course). :-X

Neige was leaving the depressive Black Metal band Mortifera at the time and he used two tracks (“Bonheur Amputé” and “Ruines Humaines”) he had originally composed for Mortifera for Amesoeurs's MCD. The MCD was finally released through Northern Silence Productions from Germany in 2006.

In 2007 Fursy joined the band again and drummer Winterhalter (drummer in Peste Noire between 2006 and 2008) was added to the mix for the full-length album "Amesoeurs" released in March 2009 through the Italian label Code 666 records. The first album was recorded during winter 2008-2009 in the Klangschmiede Studio E with Markus Stock from Empyrium fame and it is described by the band as "a kaleidoscopic soundtrack for the modern era". After the release of the full-length, Amesoeurs split up due to personal tensions and conflicting ideas regarding the band's future.

Short-lived, but pretty awesome band. A bit all over the place but cool. Fucking love Video Girl. Couple songs from the more mellow end of the spectrum (Video Girl is all pop, La Reine goes a bit nuts towards the end):

yea the Do's were great. cept that the sound system in that venue kept failing that night...so they were upset and left after like 2 songs, which was a bummer. but it was cool seeing them for that short period up close.
