When/how did you become an AKB48 fan: I am a long time Yui Aragaki (aka Gakky) fan and came across a vid where Mayuyu ''called'' Gakky. I've since uploaded the vid and posted it at: http://www.mayuwatanabe.com/2011/02/mayuyucalledgakky-circa-august-2010.html

Something magical happened when I saw that vid sometime back in August 2010 (if I'm not mistaken) and I went to look up Mayuyu on YouTube. I watched the Ponytail to Shushu vid and became an AKB48 fan. Besides Mayuyu, I am a fan of Iwasa Misaki, Oshima Yuko, Maeda Atsuko...(posted a top 10 in another thread). BTW I myself don't own the domain mayuwatanabe.com (my friend does) - I just update from time to time.

When/how did you become an AKB48 fan: Around mid 2010. I watched Mendol and fell in love with Takamina. She makes such a good looking guy! ♥ Anyway, back to the question, it was through mendol that i discovered AKB48. And started to like them up to today.

Reason why you like AKB48: I don't know why actually. Probably because i enjoy watching the girls having so much fun. They've also got nice choreography.

And the songs are always so catchy although not all of them can sing well.

When/how did you become an AKB48 fan: i liked h!p at first such a new breath into musical industry but when i discovered akb48 i was fed up about all those girls band and i prefered artists like mika nakashima. I found akb48 video with sub and their songs are so beautiful that i couldn't love them. even if i don"t like the sex image they've got
Reason why you like AKB48: they are originals and their producer transformed the japanese musical industry using a theater.

Reason why you like AKB48:I think one big enjoyment comes from finding members with potential but not particularly in the spotlight. With so many members, there's a lot of them that don't show up much. But you notice them for just those few seconds and you just click to them. And then seeing their growth as an idol.

When/how did you become an AKB48 fan: I think it was around March this year.. people kept talking about AKB48 on irc and msn. I felt left out cos I knew nothing and I kinda also dissed the group. But then I started clicking the links to vids and they were fun to watch. Sae's tomboy pimp image got me hooked lol. And slowly I was convinced about Sayaka's awesomeness too

Reason why you like AKB48: They're something new and different, the members are so close with each other, they're fun bunch of girls lol. Music is good too, altough there are many songs I don't like, too.

Okay, I did have some interest in them before that but it gave the last push for becoming a fan. Hebirote appeals to me on so many levels it's just crazy.

When/how did you become an AKB48 fan: I downloaded Sakura no Hanabiratachi the month it was released; I remember reading entertainment news articles about its formation (ever since Mari left Morning Musume, I've been checking the entertainment news every day. I never want to be that surprised again...). It sat benignly on my hard drive after a few listens. Later I downloaded Virgin Love because I heard about the racy lyrics. This made me pay a little more attention to the group, but I still was focused on Hello!-oriented pursuits. In 2008, I helped out at an event in Atlanta, and met someone who said her "little sister's classmate is an idol"; this turned out to be Nakata Chisato. I probably would have become a fan sooner if Chiichan were ever in the news, but this at least brought me a step closer. By 2008-09, it became pretty impossible to ignore them and still watch J-TV, so I became more and more knowledgeable without necessarily becoming a fan. It was downloading a pack of Akimoto Sayaka's radio appearances that got me hooked - I'm a fan of idols that can talk. From that I started listening to All Night Nippon, which made me look up all the members on Wikipedia - and discover Sashihara Rino, the H!P wota. I think Sashiko made me a permanent fan, especially after listening to ZenJan. But what ZenJan and the Fall Karaoke festival revealed was that KitaRie was fun fun fun as well, not to mention entirely visually cute, and ALSO a H!P fan. So now I have a half-dozen 2-oshi's, but I spend the most time staring at KitaRie.
Reason why you like AKB48: AKB48 is like a box of chocolates. Consuming too much makes you hyper and rots your teeth.
