Ok everyone, I've done a very quick and dirty translation of the first clip I posted up there of Dara on the Ruffa & Ai talkshow in Philippines. There were some parts that I couldn't make out, either because they were talking too fast, or, I don't recognize the slang that they're using. So if any of the tagalog speakers can correct anything, please do, and let me know. Here's the script I typed out for part 1, part 2's is coming soon!
Announcer: … went home to Korea. But what we didn’t know was that there was a brand new career waiting for her in her homeland. She is one of the members of the brand new group, 2NE1, which means the New Evolution of the 21st Century. With her in this group are CL, Bom, and Minzy. Their single “Fire”, became a hit in Korea, and also topped the MYX charts. In the midst of success, Sandara still hasn’t forgotten the Philippines. In fact, she guested on a talk show in Korea where she sang her hit song, “In Or Out”. Is she here for good? Lets find out from our very own Krung Krung, Sandara Park!
(T/N: I find it hilarious that they just ripped the audio from the 2NE1 appearance where she and CL sang In or Out. So ghetto.)
Ruffa & Ai: Good morning Sandara!! Good morning!!
Ai: How are you now, Sandara? Wow!!
Sandara: I’m still ok.
Ruffa: You know, Sandara is really REALLY famous in all of Asia, and perhaps even in the whole world!
Ai: Yes!
Sandara: Thank you!
Ai: How are you now Sandara?
Sandara: Well, I’m ok, I’m busy, but I really missed you so that’s why I came here.
Some jerkoff in the audience: SANDARA!!!!
Ruffa: What did you miss the most in Philippines?
Sandara: Shrimp sinigang …
(T/N: Hot and sour soup, one of my personal favorites as well. Commonly cooked with one type of meat. Beef, shrimp, fish, chicken, though I've never had it with pork.)
Ruffa & Ai: SHRIMP SINIGANG!! And also…?
Sandara: Pinakbet!!
(T/N: Seafood paste with veggies, really salty.)
Ai: (laughing in disbelief) Do you eat pinakbet?
Sandara: Yeah, its too good!
Ruffa: Oh really? Here at ABS, who do you miss the most?
Sandara: Hmm… my fans.
Ruffa & Ai: Oh, HER FANS, she said.
Ai: And of course Mr. L, Miss Marion.
Ai: And here again, because this is a real meeting between friends now, Ruffi.
Ruffa: Ok.
Ai: Uh huh.
Ruffa: Certainly, all the people she was with during SCQ back in the day, they have a gift for her, because it’s the first time in a long time (that they’ve seen each other). So, lets call them. Roxanne! Joross! Melissa!
Ai: And the all have some gifts for her.
Sandara: What IS that?
*Melissa: I cooked this!
Ruffa: There we go.
Sandara: (looking at the dishes) Ooh, dried mangoes, sinigang!
Joross: Hey, this is from last week, I was prepared!
Ai: Have a seat!
Melissa: Ok ok ok.
Ai: Good morning!
Melissa: Good morning!
Ruffa: Ok.
Ai: Did you miss one another? Here you are now, you’re all together again.
Melissa: Yes of course, we’ve wanted to have a reunion for a long time now. Even if not all of us are here, at least, some of us are.
Ruffa: So what did you bring for Sandara? The things she really missed?
Sandara: There’s no rice?
Melissa: No rice, that’s too bad.
Pinakbet!Ruffa: What’s your favorite about pinakbet?
Melissa: Have you tried some?
Sandara: (to Ruffa) This part.
Ruffa: Go ahead.
Ai: String beans! She loves the string beans, she could just keep on eating that.
(T/N: Ruffa starts laughing at this point kinda under her breath, I think its because Ai speaks with a slightly different accent, Visaya I believe, where the "I" is pronounced more like a long "E" sound. In this case, I grew up pronouncing "seh-tao", but Ai is saying "SEE-tao.")
Melissa: Delicious! Its delicious!
Ruffa: What’s that?
Roxanne: Dried mangoes.
Ai: You’re still a fan of those? Of dried mangoes?
Sandara: Yes I am, totally.
Ai: What is that you’re eating?
Joross: Wow, they’re so delicious, but here’s the most delicious out of everything.
*Sandara sips some broth, people laugh.
Ruffa: Is it good?
Joross: Good?
Sandara: The three tastes have blended together.
Ai: So we have some fans here that will ask questions for (from) you. Go!
Fan #1: Dara! I have a question for you. Here you’re known as Krung Krung, when you went home to Korea, what did you do that was “Krung Krung?”
(T/N: Krung Krung is a nickname she picked up in Philippines, the best I can really describe it is to be silly or goofy.)
Sandara: Hmm, lots. The same kind of thing. I sang In or Out, danced, joked around.
Joross: Just be by yourself for a while, lol.
Ai: Ok, our second fan.
Fan #2: Sandara, is there someone you’re attracted to, or do you have a boyfriend right now in Korea?
Ai: Yay!! Miss Foundation Day!! (T/N: whatever the fuck that means.)
Ruffa: You know, Sandara even said that there are a lot of handsome guys in Korea.
Ai: Oh oh, and yes, here, here, here, there’s a question here asking if its true that you’re friends with Jan Di of BOF?
Sandara: Yes, because we’re both under the same management at YG, so we’re friends.
Ruffa and Ai: Wow!!
Sandara: But the boys, I don’t know them.
Ruffi: Oh the boys, you don’t know them.
Ai: Just Jan Di you’re friends with.
Sandara: Mm hmm.
Ruffi: So, do you have a boyfriend right now, Sandara?
Sandara: None, I do want a boyfriend, but nobody is attracted to me like that. *facepalm*
Ai: So what about if someone from Philippines would be attracted to you here, would that be ok for you?
Sandara: Ah, I’d have to think about it.
Ruffa & Ai: lolz.
Ai: We still have another fan.
Fan #3: Aaaagh! Its crazy!!
Ai: Why are you going crazy?
Fan #3: OMG, we like, TOTALLY missed Sandy, didn’t we? YEHEY!! *claps like a woman* Its crazy, we really missed you, REALLY missed you, here, I have a question, I do. Who from your SCQ friends do you miss the most, and why? *claps like a woman again*
(T/N: He uses some colourful adjectives to stress the word “most” here, I think you get the idea.)
Sandara: Well of course I missed all of them, I can’t just choose one, because everyone is special to me.
Ruffo & Ai: Ah, yes, they’re all special.
Ruffo: I’d like to know how the group of 2NE1 was formed.
Sandara: When I went home to Korea, I first became a trainee at YG. There were four of us girls. We had practice, dance classes, voice lessons, yes.
Ai: Wait, all these girls are part of the group that’s managing you?
Sandara: Yes, four of us. 2NE1.
Ruffo: And how long did you train for Sandara …
Sandara: Around…
Ruffo: … before you really got put out there and performing for the people in Korea?
Sandara: I had the shortest time, around one and a half years.
Ruffo: One and a half years?
Sandara: But the others, they were all different, they had five years, and me, two years.
Ruffo: Five years to prepare? You’re really (going to go) international.
Sandara: Since 2005.
Ruffo: So what are your dreams for the group, Sandara?
Sandara: Hmm, we want to do a concert here in Philippines at
Araneta!Ai: And hopefully in all of Asia!
Sandara: Yeah, hopefully.
Ruffo: And of course, things wouldn’t be complete without something from Sandara for all of you! So of course, there are the SCQ friends reunion that got a BNY gift pack!
Ai: And of course, continuing on is the celebration of friendship today, we'll share some experiences with our four guests when we return to Ruffa and Ai~!
