Tiffany, 21, a member of the idol group Girls' Generation, has a cast on her right ankle.
It was revealed belatedly that she sprained her ankle during the SM Town concert in Jamsil, eastern Seoul, on Aug. 21 and has been wearing a cast since the next day.
"The injury isn't serious. She has a showcase scheduled on Wednesday in Japan, so she'll be in her cast to protect her ankle," said an associate of the agency, SM Entertainment. "She won't have any problem performing in Japan."
The nine-member group is to make its official debut in the neighboring island nation, Sept. 8, with the song "Genie." The group left Gimpo Airport Monday afternoon and has been preparing to launch a promotion campaign.
The idol singers will perform in Ariake Colosseum, Tokyo, Wednesday, before an audience of some 20,000. This unusually large scale of debut performance is dubbed "mammoth." Associates said that they will be promoting the Korean group to the Japanese audience.
