^ hmm...I'm not so sure about that as Akimoto kind of admitted some girls are getting around 50000 yen a month (that's almost US$500). 500 bucks, Mariko, Hana and Cindy spent that in minutes

I'm sure top AKB girls make a lot more than this.

I was gonna comment on the math as well. Thats not a lot of money for what they do. Less than what I earn in a week (well 3 nights) ~ I couldn't cope on that little. I have a huge shopping habbit to feed!!!

I am not to surprised if it is for the younger girls, they are not fulltime (are any actually?) and go to school also.
If this is net (e.g. after tax etc.) 500$/month would be a nice addition to there pocket money I think.

i was wondering around in a japs book store in a shopping complex near my house, then suddenly i found the BIG COMIC wif the akb48 featured inside, without any thinking i straight away bought it, i juz felt so lucky cuz i wouldnt believe that i can found that magz in my country! im to happy rite now, although its lil bit expansive than the original prize, but then its so worth it... im juz too happy rite now!!!

now i really hope that i can bump into the weekly playboy magz... ahahah sure just a dream~

last time i bought the UP TO BOY where they featured ono erena, niigaki risa n other H!P and gravure idol also from the same shop, so i really hope the same shop will come out more of japs magz where they featured H!P and AKB48... btw good luck to thunderbolt, ganbate ne~ hope u also can get that magz, or the weekly playboy the best!!!!

yup yup, but then not all the copy have akb48 or H!P ahaha, but then im thinking that i wanna start ordering UP TO BOY from that shop...but then bcuz of the tax the price is kinda expansive compare to the original prize, so still thinking.. ehhee, now im searching for the latest BLT magz, if i not mistaken, the cover of the latest issue is akb~

I know next to nothing about AKB48, but they were featured in a UK made documentary on Japanese culture. The episode in particular was focusing on pop music (Morning Musume were also mentioned

) but AKB48 were also highlighted, and I thought you guys might be interested in it:
