Utaban Discussion Thread

So apparently Utaban is no more. There was a 3 hour special episode on the 23rd looking back at the show's history. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any clips, but Hello!Online has the MM OG segment on their tracker.

It is, however, being replaced by (or perhaps reformatted as) "The Music Hour" next month, with Ishibashi and Nakai continuing their hosting duties. Here's the most substantial info I could find on it, and it's all in Japanese.

Considering the fact that Taka-san and Nakai are continuing the hosting duties, unless they're using an entirely new production staff (i.e. writers, directors, producers, camera operators, etc.), this "new show" is just going to be Utaban with a different name, plain and simple.

Now according to Tokyo Hive,

"On September 14th, one of the premier music programs in Japan, The Music Hour (formally known as ‘Utaban‘) ended its 14-year history.  The final episode was three hours long, and it showed the summary of its 14 year-run, including battles between one of the MC, Nakai Masahiro, and featured guests (particularly the famous battle with Ohno Satoshi of Arashi).

Many artists who have made appearances on the program submitted message videos; other musicians, such as Every Little Thing, SPEED, and the original Morning Musume showed up to say farewell to the show."

Can't wait to watch this special last episode. If anyone finds direct DL links, especially for Momusu parts, please share them~! I can't use BT...
