i'm sure y'all seen this all over the youtube n shit with his SMASH! SMASH! SUH-MMMASSSSSSSH!! interview XD

I love how he starts it with DEEPNESS "no matter whatcha done...you deserve respect, even if you make mistakes. You’re lovable and it doesn’t matter your looks, skills, or age, or size or anything. You’re worthwhile—no one can take that away from you.” Tony Robbins level shit. :shocked

Kai, the interviewee, is a homeless hitchhiker who really likes surfing. Earlier this week, he hitched a ride with a guy —this guy has since been identified as 54-year-old Jett Simmons McBride — who allegedly "began spouting racist invective and claimed to be to the reincarnation of Jesus," as Time put it.

McBride rammed his car into a utility worker in front of him, pinning the guy against his truck. He then got out of the vehicle, began pulling on the injured worker and then allegedly assaulted a woman who was trying to stop him.

That is when Kai jumped into action, beating the man with the blunt end of his hatchet.

Both McBride and his victim survived. KMPH reports McBride was arrested and jailed.

SO DEEP!!! my hero  remixes, fuckin lame ass memes and inevitable GIFs aside , apparently there's a deeper darker backstory.

Quote
In an interview, Caleb "Kai" Lawrence tells a dark but inspiring story of overcoming a rough childhood. In true Kai fashion, he speaks of guarding and loving his inner child. His parents' divorce and instances of molestation made for a difficult upbringing and the newscast hints at more troubles as the anchor says, "Much of his past is darker and more gut-wrenching than you can imagine. Stuff that we can't put on air."

Kai perseveres, saying his spirit and beliefs took him through tough times.

The interview is sure to draw more fans. Aside from praising the hitchhiker for his positive outlook and intelligence, some YouTube commenters are calling for a book deal and full-length Kai documentary. But his rise to fame isn't changing him any time soon.

whatcha think? he gonna get his own reality show? or just get his surf on?
