'Hana Yori Dango' was the J-dorama which I enjoyed most in Winter 2005 and Part 2 will start airing on 5 January 2007 with a 2hr special filmed partly in New York~!! ^o^

I LOVE Hana Yori Dango, and teh drama is MAJOR love! I stopped reading the manga around volume... 30-ish, so I don't know what actually happens after that :( Not that that's gonna be part of the 2nd season for the drama XD
But anyways, to answer suki's question, I always had a thing for Tsukasa in the manga~ :heart:

I didn't read the manga at all so I can only TRY to pick via the drama. XD
I didn't like Domyouji at first because of the arrogance. Hanazawa Rui was more appealing coz he was more gentlemanly as compared but after a while, it kinda felt like he was leading Tsukushi on while following Toudo Shizuka around like a puppy? So anyway, Domyouji ZOOMED up in my opinion charts with the way he was "courting" Tsukushi. XD MECHA MECHA KAWAII~!!! ^o^
The only other one whom I have a good impression of was Nishikado Soujirou. The way he helped Tsukushi's friend Yuuki out by showing her horrid boyfriend up? ARRRGGHH~!!! :ONluvluv1: KAKKOII~!!! :ONluvluv1:
As for Akira... :ONkneelbow:I unfortunately didn't find anything in all 10 episodes in Part 1 to make him memorable to me. :baa60776:

Oh shi! I like Soujirou for the same reasons! I couldn't think of his name at the time, so I didn't write anything~ I remember there was a lot about him during one part in the manga, and that made him become my #2~
And Tsukasa I just wanna hug to death because he's so cute~

But yeah, if I was a girl in the dorama who knows them, I'd be inclined at first towards Rui, cause he was so prince-like, romantic, such a gentleman... But then he became hard to decipher XD Then Domyouji would win to him cause he really tried so hard and was so adorable. And the bad side of him wasn't his fault, I mean, look at the kind of mother he grew up with :ONomg: Akira would be a big no no for me cause he's too much of a womanizer and I hate that. Soujiro... he was nice and all, but probably too much of a womanizer for me too... So i pick MatsuJun!!!! :ONxD:

I spent the whole of yesterday rewatching Hanadan 1 just so that I can follow this new season~!! ^o^ JUST finished episode 1 of Hanadan 2 and ooohhh~!! Toma SIZZLES~!!! :panda_love:

I avoided watching 'Meteor Garden' actually. :P Same reason as to why I avoided watching the Initial D movie. :P But for 'Meteor Garden' I managed to catch a couple of episodes coz I was in Taiwan then and it was on telly. I generally avoided it though coz it's just TOO WIERD to have "Japanese people" spouting a wave of spot-on impeccable Chinese. And I got the goosebumps whenever "Dao Ming Si" or "Shan Cai" was called. :P So I just didn't watch. :P
But ohhh~!!! Akira's slowly but surely climbing up my "F4 :heart:" chart~!!
IMHO, they picked the PERFECT woman to be Domyouji Kaede. She's SO INFURIATING~!! :ONscolding:

To summarise, they went on a budget tour of NYC, had Abe Tsuyoshi ( Mimasaka Akira ) cook for them, played two games and went shopping~!! ^o^ The punishment for the games was that they had to drink 'green pea' soda and 'turkey and gravy' soda from Jones~!! Their expressions... :ONxD:
I cannot wait for episode 2~!! ^o^
PS : I have no idea as to what those guys terrorising Tsukushi were saying either... I just went "Okay! Here comes Rui~!!" and that's it! :P

watched the subbed episode this morning. I pretty much got everything without the subs, but the subs helped alot in straightening out the details. I think I'll keep watching the raws first. I have to say SARS got the hardsubs out really fast.
The scene with the thugs in the alley was hilarious :lol: Especially the part about the "bling bling" XD I love how they had a basketball and the overuse of the word "Fuck". :lol:

The part where Inoue Mao got confronted by those american blackies, oh my...I couldn't make out what they're talking abt 90% of the time, lmao. (to think English was my 1st language at where I'm living, such a shame)
Only heard alot of the notorious 4-letter word though. But HYD2 is still cool, great to see the whole cast back and even better.

I'm in fucking love with Shigeru, she is just the awesome. She's perfect for me; friendly, nice, hilarious, talented, can kick ass, hot, and rich as fuck. She also seems to take a liking for assholes with a soft spot. If Tsukasa doesn't want her, I'll take her. :P

I luv this drama even more so then Meteor gardens..but don't get me wrong i still luv F4 (the Taiwanese boyband)..i think its just cuz they followed the manga sooo closely that it made it rather unrealistic..i mean there are some events that happened in the manga that would make you think...eh?..how is that possible?
but in the jap version..they made it a tad more realistic..if this makes any sense watsoever...but the lady who played matsujun's mother..damn! she did an awesome job..cuz throughout the drama i hated her guts haha..
and damn..matsujun is soo adorable..luv the scene where he was talking to rui at the airport so cute..
i hope the second season will not be a disappointment like MG2...so far its ok..but it pisses me off that its SOO obvious that they like each other..but..you'll have to watch for yourselves..don't wanna ruin it..gah!..can' wait for the remaining eps to come out

This complex relationship triangle?square?polygon? hurts my brain everytime I watch HYD. Certain episodes make me think "EFF you Tsukasa. She should forget you." but some make me go "GO GET HER!!!" I don't know. So I just finished watching a raw of episode 4 (only understood like half of it) but what I figured out just made me even more anxious. I'm really having a problem of who Tsukushi goes better with.:panda_argh: :MKerr: :ON@_@: :ONtantrum:

zomg subs are up to ep seven already? I haven't even finished watching part four yet :p I'm so out of the loop.
So far this season isn't really holding my attention like the first HYD. A lot of eye candy though :D Hopefully the plot picks up some toward the end.

I feel they're not really working as hard on this season as the last. The first season had great cinematics for a tv series and I loved the camera work and scenery. There really isn't much variety when it comes to that this season. It feels just just like any other drama to me now, except it still has characters that I really like...

Yeah I noticed that too. I remember thinking that when I wrote that other post, but I didn't type it o_o
But it's not like the plot is anything different from countless other dramas out there and it sorta makes it less fun to watch... Other than the characters, I feel like the show sorta lost some of its charm.
Don't get me wrong though, I still like the show... but I feel kinda let down from the hype.

yeah i would agree that the plot is more 'ordinary' now since its similar to alots of other dramas out there, the actors and actress make the whole difference to the show! haha somehow i felt the characters are more matured this time round, especially Akira and Nishikado...

Who else was shocked when Ken showed up at the end?! XD Maybe the Kaede-okasan made up the whole thing [including the decline of Domyouji Financial as a hoax] to force Tsukushi to make such a decision (her decision to not see Tsukasa or any of the Domyouji family again). X__X Such suspense! I wonder what will happen when Tsukasa catches up to Ken in episode 10!

The mother did force Ken to commit suicide x_x;. TSUKASA HAS AMNESIA BUT REMEMBERS EVERYONE ELSE BESIDES TSUKUSHI! ;_;;;; Rofl @ the reenactment scenes from season 1. But damn Toda Erika, wtf is with her pretending that she's Tsukasa's lover? :-x :-x One more episode left!

Ever since HYD2 came out i've been hooked. Usually i don't have time to watch many doramas but i've been trying to keep up with it... which is not really keeping up cuz i'm still on ep 6 but for me that's pretty good.

I like the changes they made in the drama, rather than following strictly to the manga..although the manga was good...it seemed more unrealistic than the drama..so changing it up was a good move...
matsujun is soo cute in the drama..but oddly enough..the character he is playing in HYD seems to be quite similar to himself..haha..well minus the violent behaviour..but ...am i the only one who thinks so?

requesting HYD 2 ep.10 and ep.11 for direct download. i found the torrent file on sars-fansub.com but the torrent is slow. I went to silentregrets.com to download HYD and HYD 2 but it didn't included ep10 and 11. it offer direct download.

btw, in related news, HYD is popular among Asia and that Taiwan had their own shows, Meteor Garden 1 and 2. Korea had announced their own remake months ago and now the latest news is... Hunan TV (China) will remake "Meteor Garden" (http://asianfanatics.net/forum/Hunan-TV-will-remake-Meteor-Garden--talk596781.html).
It seems HYD, which started as a manga, then anime, is so popular that there will be 4 different remakes of it in 4 different countries.
This is just an opinion, but If this keep on and with how Hollywood been keeping an eye on Asian media lately with many remakes Hollywood been doing... (u know where I'm heading right?......)
A Hollywood remake might not be far off...

Just finished the movie. In general, it was beautiful. I found it a bit boring in the middle, but it was sweet.

Same here. But in contrast to the seasons I only watched the movie once so far, I'm sure it'll grow on me a lot next time.

Don't know if anyone knew this but the first Hana Yori Dango was actually a TV movie way back in 1995, starred Yuki Uchida, Naohito Fujiki and Shosuke Tanihara. Bit lame but fun, reminded me a lot of those cheesy 80's teen films, :doh: some screencaps from it.
