Spider Lilies (Chinese=刺青; pinyin= Cì Qīng; literally "Tattoo") is a Taiwanese lesbian drama film, released in 2007. It is the second feature-length film by director Zero Chou, and stars Rainie Yang and Isabella Leong in the lead roles. Spider Lilies was screened at the 2007 Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Teddy Award for best feature film. It was released in the United States by Wolfe Video on May 6, 2008.

Plot
When Jade, a web-cam girl visits Takeko's tattoo studio she becomes entranced with the image of the spider lily and with Takeko as well. In order to get closer to the object of her desire, Jade asks Takeko to give her the same lily tattoo, challenging Takeko's monastic existence and opening up memories which threaten to tear the two women apart.

Well, I loved this movie. Pretty much turned me into a Rainie fanboy a year ago or so.

Used this sig for a while, too.

Should really watch it again soon... I'm just a sucker for girl-love flicks. 8-)

a friend recommended the movie to me a month ago (more or less)

i like it... i like how the problem in the movie isn't about either characters being lesbians...

it's like they have their own individual issues and it just so happens that they're both gay...

isa would make a really cute butch...

One of the best movies I have seeing recently. Excellent performance Isabella Leong and Rainie Yang... I liked it so much I bought it

Of course Isabella is cute...but in this movie she proved she could also be a handsome girl....

The only bad point I see in the movie is towards the end were everything is left unresolved except Isa and Rainei story...too fast but hey you can ask for more.

Being that this is acting in a movie, if a 'kiss' like that doesn't turn your lesbo, then I don't know what will o_o...

I only know Isa because of the Mummy Movie. I'm glad I checked this out. I know Rainie from her Taiwanese career.

TBH, I watched this movie for the faptastic action. Got kind of confused with the plot at some points... got a little froo-froo for me. I guess I should re-watch this for the STORY, as opposed for the steamy lesbian scenes.

Anyone knows why the kiss scene was cut? I watched the movie and it certainly was missing there. Is there a uncut DVD version available somewhere maybe?

Saw this film. Loved this film. Remains to this day the only time I've seen Rainie Yang act in anything.

Spider Lilies is one of the few films I can watch over and over and over again. I was so obsessed with this film before that I did my best to analyze the story and the characters, I even searched for what the director wanted to express at the end of the film

Sorry, I have no idea if there's an uncut version of the DVD.

I'm not sure if there's an uncut version. But, if my memory serves me correctly, I think I saw somewhere the omitted scene. Maybe it was included in the DVD but it's under the extra scenes.

i've ben contempling on weather i should watch it or not.
but after seeing the making of, i really have to watch this movie.
its looks like it has a great story behind all the "sexually" thats gonna happen.

actually i wasnt gona watch it because of the sexual stuff (im afraid

If you're talking about the kissing scenes you can skip it, If you're talking about the _ _ _ _ scene don't worry it's not included in the movie.

It's an artistic movie so you may find some scenes confusing. I already watched this 3 times.

. I was wondering who the girl was with the green wig in the Ishiyoshi thread...and well, I had to check it out

. I'm really, REALLY glad I did. I was suprised I was able to watch,cause normaly I'm not into chica-chica action =P but this movie (well the clips I've seen on youtube) have made me all mushy-gushy inside for this movie.

Bah, I forgot to add how much SL reminded me of some anime .It's like live-action yuri

Ah! It kinda sorta reminds me of Utena the movie

yep they really went above and beyond in the acting, esp. Rainie you think she was just a pop idol. it's not just the girl on girl, but some deep shit!
