Miyazawa Sae was the first true AKB48 favorite I ever had. She was cool right from the start. While others have come along and commanded more of my attention, I still hold Sae in a high regard and she's still easily my Team K favorite. I think SomethingWild said it best, the best quality of Sae is using her appeal only when it will truly help her. It would be really easy for her to just constnatly dish out the "ha~ ha~ ha~ everyone in AKB48 wants me to bang me
" persona all the time and she would probably get some fans out of it. I think the Sae we know is far more charming than that, though. She knows her strengths and when to use them.
One thing that has touched me most about Sae was her story about her being bullied in school that she told on a segment on AKBINGO. That just blows my mind that someone who seems so kind, sincere, and level-headed would be bullied. I can't imagine a greater pleasure than to have someone that is like Miyazawa Sae as a friend. Kids can be cruel shitheads, I guess. Anyway, I just think it's cool that she turned out to be such a fine woman despite some social obstacles like that. It's inspiring.
Sae, to me, is Team K. If they had moved her in the great shuffle, I would have been livid. She represents what that team is all about: energy, fun, and charisma. That's what Team K is. That's what Miyazawa Sae is. It's pretty common that we joke that she's such a man sometimes, but really, what a great woman we have right here.
