I was talking to our office CSR (Cute Sexy Receptionist) about SNSD, and she and one of my students asked me if I knew HyoYeon's nickname. I told them "no", and they told me it was "Hyorc" (Hyo + Orc). She then proceeded to show me some local sites about Hyorc.

Oh yea, that pic from MKMF, probably never live that one down. I've seen it photo shopped into every situation imaginable.

I think most of the time it's not done in a mean spirited way (at least I don't think those examples are). Actually the Warcraft one might be like an honor in Korea, I know Starcraft is like a religion there.

Never heard the Orc thing. I remember Ayappe and Ogawa used to get similar stuff back in the day.

I've no idea if it's out of fun or being mean, but many Koreans are aware of it. Oh, the benefits of living here.

yeah, that got circulated all the way over here. It's pretty mean I guess because she took it offensively. I don't remember if it was a written interview or if it was a camera interview, but she talked about such pictures. She said something like how pictures would be taken in the middle of a weird facial expression or pose and then everyone would share it more than the pictures taken with a prettier expression and of course people would say hurtful things.
So yeah, I don't think she likes being portrayed as a Super Saiyan...hahahah
