I comfess I always confuse Tano Yuko with Muto Tomu. Tano/Tomu... pffft.
Anyway, my fav of the two is definitely Tano and I'm very pleased she's one of Team A's Team 4 girls. I think she has the potential to become one of the future top girls. She didn't even get much promotion, but she still managed to beat the vast majority of Team 4 who were in every single show. Go kick some ass Tano!

Tano Yuka in her Janken outfit as a hula girl. I thought she won for cutest costume hands down, with Natsumi as close second.
I'm also really glad Yuka made it as far as she did in the tournament, but I wish she had made it into senbatsu. She was so close. They should start promoting her more, I feel that Aki-P is promoting all the wrong people. :smhid

She's officially my favourite among Team4, and is definitely climbing up to my top 3 in the whole akb fandom.
Extremely determined and always puts on a good performance. Her dance skills are awesome and she's always really hyper XD

she's a very talented girl. great at singing and dancing, hilarious and hyper and making funny faces offstage, kinda shy on tv but she'll improve over time.

In KouHaku Utagassen, I could dance behind Godai Natsuko-san!
日本舞踊は初めて経験するジャンルで、もちろん最初は不安や戸惑いがあったけど夏先生にひとつひとつ丁寧に教えていただき、本番は今までで一番納得のいく踊り、表現、表情ができたとおもいます。
I did the experience of dancing the japanese traditional dance for the first time, obviously at the beginning I was nervous and confused but Natsu-sensei kindly teach me one thing after the other, and I think that during the performance I could do properly the dance, the presentation and the expression.
わたしはまゆさんとペアをやらせていただいたんですけど、まゆさんがとても男らしく演じていて、より引き込まれ自分も感情移入しやすかったです！
I’ve being shipped with Mayu-san but Mayu-san performed in a very manly way, more than being defeated, it made more easy to share those feelings!
そしてなにより、紅白歌合戦という素晴らしいステージの上にたてたこと、とても感謝しています。
客席にひろがる、まるで金木犀みたいなオレンジ色のペンライトの景色、とても感動しました…
Also, more than anything else, I’m really grateful I could stand on KouHaku Utagassen’s wonderful stage.
Seeing the scene of the guests seating spreading completely of orange kinmokusei-like penlights really moved me…
今年最後の締めくくり、とても達成感に満ち溢れています！

On October 21, it was revealed that AKB48's Tano Yuka (17) and NMB48's Umeda Ayaka (25) have both been cast in the lead role for the musical "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." This decision came after a final round of auditions amongst the AKB48 group members.
Former AKB48 member Masuda Yuka (23) previously won the lead for 2 consecutive years starting in 2012. Stage director Miyamoto Amon (56) spoke about the unprecedented casting of double leads with, "I did not have any reason to drop either of the girls."
The auditions began in July and 6 members were chosen from amongst 108 for the final stage of the auditions. The members demonstrated their singing, dancing, and acting prowess in the auditions.
The moment that the leads were announced, both Umeda and Tano brought their hands to their faces to cover up their emotional tears. Umeda, who was passed over for the lead previously stated, "I can finally see the stage that I could not see 2 years ago." This past spring, she performed in her first musical "In the Heights" as the lead heroine. She spoke about this opportunity to play a 15-year-old Dorothy with, "I will try my best to act young."
This is the first ever musical for Tano, who is known as the best dancer in Team K. She spoke happily about winning the lead role with, "This is a dream come true. I would like to cultivate my character by studying hard together with Umeda." The musical will run from March 8 – 22, 2015 at the Tokyo International Forum Hall C. It will also run in Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka.

Really nice to see Tano chan given this opportunity!
In Japan, where age is respected (similar in East and SE Asia) to have
Adults believe in her enough to give her this role is a huge boost to her self belief.
Of course, successfully becoming a member of a well known Idol Group is a big deal,
but with the ever changing cast of new, younger, cuter members, it can actually break down a member's
confidence, but being given a lead role in a theatre play is quite an important decision.
The whole cast depends on the lead roles to make or break the production.
The cynical outlook is that Idols are cast so that tons of Wotas will buy tickets, but the truth is
that the reputation of the producers and directors rests on their ability to cast and direct all of the cast
in a such a way as to make the evening an enjoyable and memorable night
for all of the paying audience.
