Kawashima Umika releases 1st collection of trading cards, "Umika Days"

Today actress Kawashima Umika (15) celebrated the release of her first collection of trading cards called "Umika Days". It is her first such collection and she even picked the title herself. "Umika Weather was another candidate, but since it’s full of my real self we picked this title."

There are a lot of cards in this collection and they feature her in various clothes, including swimsuits, a school uniform, loungewear, stylish clothes and a lot of other interesting costumes. "It’s been a while that I did swimsuit pictures, so I was really nervous…, but since it’s a trading card collection it had to be special. I didn’t do anything like a diet, but at the day of the photo shooting I didn’t eat anything at all. Every day before I went to bed, I did 20 sit-ups and 20 push-ups. However, recently I’ve been slacking off with my exercises again."

2009 has been a busy year for Kawashima, she appeared in a lot of commercials and doramas and even had her first movie starring role in "Keitai Kareshi". "This year there have been a lot of unusual things for me, it really became a big turning in my life. I have also become a senior high school student this year. I’m glad that I got to do so many different things. My personal kanji of the year might be ki (spirit, courage). The ki of kiai (fighting spirit), the ki of genki (healthy/vigorous) and not to forget the ki of kansha no kimochi (feeling gratitude). I feel like I just said something great. (laughs)"
