edit: pretty evil stuff actually.

1. The normal idol calendar is B2 and costs 2300 yen. These ones are a bit cheaper, but a lot smaller. So they are bound to save some money there.
2. The single page B2 ones for all members are 50% the price of a normal calendar, but you only get 12.5% the pages! That's a pretty crappy deal.
3. It's gonna be super tempting to get multiple B2 ones... especially now that every member gets one. I.E. spend more than you normally would.

I'm happy to see Mariko's getting a calendar this time round, I wanted to buy one last year but since she didn't release one I didn't decide on one and it never happened- however... this year, I think I'm leaning mostly towards a soon to be MM graduate's calendar!

The AKB48 group calendar has also been announced: "AKB48 Official Calendar Box 2012 CHEER UP! - Anata ni Egao wo Todokemasu -"

Box set of AKB48's 2012 calendar comes with 12 clear folders featuring selected 12 members, a paper fan, a message sticker, and a poster calendar featuring top 21 members in swim suits selected at Sosenkyo (general election). Size: A3 (33.6 x 25.3 x 3.5cm).

First press comes with an extra sticker.

In random order, my favorites include:
- Fujie Reina: nice smile, nice thighs
- Nakamura Mariko: pose, pretty cute overall
- Nagao Mariya: cheeky
- Sashihara Rino: a bit out of the box, a bit naughty.. lol
- Sumire Sato: very nice smile, but she is sitting on nothing! looks awkward.

Best ones imo:
- Iwasa Misaki: BAM, woah
- Itano Tomomi: great pose, killer expression
- Watanabe Mayu: if you can dig the epic hat

I'm not really digging the ones from my top favorites...
Aw well. There are still the 30x30 ones to look forward to.

Ahh, these are quite nice, the outfits are cute and while I was a bit annoyed by the blank white backgrounds I can see that keeps it uniform and tidy~

For teams A, K, and B- could these be the outfits from the team song PVs? I'm just thinking that due to Mayuyu having the awesome hat and the outfits all seem very themed like you could picture them in a PV for that team...

I hope the 30x30 calendars will have different photos and not these blank studio ones. Pictures like that can get boring really quickly. I'd prefer some nice outdoor pics, or something from a more colorful or energetic photoshoot like the calendars we got the previous years.

Actually, those costumes are their team song costumes from Koko ni Ita Koto album (Team A's is Overtake costume, Team K is Boku ni Dekiru Koto, Team B is Renai Circus, Team 4 is High School Days)

That's still a stand-in pic. That photo's from the last box calendar.

I'm pretty sure they're not reusing pics from that shoot since iirc Yuko mentioned on her blog that she was shooting the AKB calendar.
