YumeRiai went skating in the ice skating rink with Sergeant Ebata, in preparation for arctic missions. When Ensign Matsunaga fell down, Kisaki laughed and take pictures of it.

ENSIGN Rio Kitagawa checked her radar screen nervously as her F18 Hornet fighter jet approached 50 nautical miles off the coast of Chongjin, North Korea.

Rio: Ne, You said you were going to tell me what's gonna happen once we're airborne. We're already skirting the waters of the hermit kingdom. What the heck are we supposed to do now?

ENSIGN Riai Matsunaga, sitting in the back seat of the plane, was nonplussed and unfazed at this point. It was as if she was anticipating this moment coming from her good aviator friend in the Fleet, and trying hard to concentrate while "in the zone"

Riai: YOU just drive the bus, ORIO, and try not to get us shot by some random North Korean SAM missiles. Once we reach waypoint Bravo, I'm bugging out of your plane feet wet down to the water. You will RTB back to base, and for me, the rest is CLASSIFIED.

Rio [taken aback]: Matsunaga! Are you OUT OF YOUR MIND?!!! On the plane, I'm already experiencing 2Gs after getting out of Mach 2, and YOU are going outside for a skydiving gig while your blood is still just only returning to your brain?!! Is Captain Uemura aware of this madness you're trying to pull?!!

Riai: I might've left that little detail out of my mission plan for the skipper... but seriously, Rio...you don't have anything to worry...I did brought along extra parachutes....besides..its ME!! Yafuzo always does the risky missions.

We like to think we have an image of her as a lonewolf yankii, but this new mature, respectful Riai is the best.

Although many believed that YumeRiai have polar opposite personalities, they also do not deny that it is exactly that difference and their deep love for each other that complements their roles well within the group's social dynamics, especially now that they are practically middle managers of the group.

While Yume can be characterised as the more cautious, measured and tactical member, the very embodiment of the pink octopus: powerful, silent, shrewd, prudent, patient and deadly as she dives and lurks deep underwater stalking her prey; Riai is the embodiment of the free-spirited blue butterfly, brave, daring, so free to take risks as she jumps from high altitude, gliding her way in the skies as she silently stalks her target below. If Yume were to rule the depths of the ocean, Riai will rule the skies.

Yumeriai's performance with their veteran seniors at the MSMW Osaka concert have earned them praise from Admiral Natsuyaki Miyabi, who was impressed with Riai sexyness on stage and even said Yume was born to be an idol. Coming from a legend, this certainly is high praise!!

Kawana: Matsunaga-san, will you be coming to my Officer Commissioning Ceremony? It would really mean a lot to me. Plus, most of our fleet will be there.

Matsunaga: I would really love to, Narin-chan. But you know I can't really be there.

Kawana: Is it because Hashisako-senpai will be there? How long are you gonna continue being in this ridiculous feud with her?

Matsunaga: You don't understand, Narin. Me and her...it's way more complicated than that.

Kawana: Maybe I don't understand. But if we're gonna be deployed together more often, I'd hope that you will reconcile with her soon. You're putting Shionnu into a difficult situation because she respects both of you guys. We used to hang out together back in our KSS Academy when we were trainees, and now, you've purposely tried every means to avoid her, even during meals in the Officer's Mess. I kinda wish this would stop and we go back to the way we used to..the good old days.

RIO: Morning, Kisaki-chan...please...you don't have to salute me. when you're aboard the Musume, you guys are always an honorary part of our crew.

KISAKI: Thank you! <sitting down, after sipping from her cup> Do you mind if I ask you something, Ma'am?

<RIO nodded> Go ahead.

KISAKI: Matsunaga-san just told us not to call her by her last name. Because of that, Risa's already calling her "Riai-san".

I'm curious how come you and Matsunaga-san are calling each other on a last name basis? She called you "Kitagawa" and you also casually called her Matsunaga.

RIO: Well, Kisaki-chan...if there's one thing I learnt about your senpai, she probably didnt like her teammates calling her by her last name because she doesnt wanna feel like she's interacting with a stranger. She wanted to feel that closeness when you call her Riai-san. As for it between me and Riai...it was just friendly, rivalry banter...we're really just good friends since our days in Officer Cadet School.

[Sergeant Rio Sakurai was leading 2 members of Special Warfare unit Juice=Juice into a holding room]

SGT SAKURAI: Its been 3 hours since OCHA transferred the prisoner to us, but we still haven't got anything out of her, Lieutenant. We really hope you can help us out here, Ma'am.

LT MATSUNAGA: No sweat, Riley. We'll let you know when we're done.

SGT SAKURAI: Aye Ma'am. [salutes Riai before leaving]

LT MATSUNAGA: You're ready? Is this your first time interrogating somebody?

CPL KAWASHIMA: [nodded]

LT MATSUNAGA: The key is intimidation. This will be one of the things you'll have to learn as a JUICE operative. Watch me and learn, Omifu.

[Riai opened the locked door and went in with Mifu behind her. 5 minutes later, ]

WAKANA: LT? What's wrong?

RIN: I can't, Wakana...It's impossible for me to work in this Composite Warfare Squad for the Hinafest campaign.



WAKANA: Hey, we're drawn in the same group, remember? You don't wanna work with me?

[Then, it suddenly dawned on Wakana when she looked at the Team Mission Roster on the Operations Board]



WAKANA: Ohh....

WAKANA: You know..I'm getting sick of this. It's been almost 4 years and still you and Lieutenant Matsunaga have never even once maintained eye contact with each other, much less talk to each other. This Cold War of yours with her has to end.. It has to end, LT..

RIN: I dunno if I ever could, Wakana....I think Matsunaga still hates me.

WAKANA: I remember a time not too long ago when you would both hang out as Academy classmates. You need to bury the hatchet, LT. I refuse to be a messenger girl between you two...just because you guys refuse to talk directly with each other.
