Since it's now the 10th in Japan, it's now Aika's 5th year anniversary of joining Momusu! Congrats to Aika!

She's worked so hard over the years and slowly become an integral part of the group. It's strange that I still sometimes see her as one of the youngsters of the group even though she's now 4th most senior. To me I guess she'll always somewhat retain that image

Yeah, I also always think of her as one of the kids, but Aika is a real vet now....... I think it was the Kanashimi Twighlight PV that will always make me think she is the youngest one......That PV looked like somehow one of the girls had a little middle school sister that snuck on the set, and promised to be good if they would let her take part in the rehearsal of the video..............But she did such a great job, they decided to film with her........

モーニング娘。8期メンバーの光井愛佳（みついあいか）は5月18日（金）に行われる、「モーニング娘。コンサートツアー2012春～ウルトラスマート～新垣里沙卒業スペシャル」をもって、モーニング娘。を卒業することとなりました。

昨年5月9日に左足痛の為、病院で診察を受けた際、「左距骨疲労骨折」との診断を受けました。本人はモーニング娘。としての活動を続けていきたいという気持ちが強く、完治するまで活動をお休みして治療を続けて参りました。
しかし、今年4月23日に診察を受けた際、「ほぼ完治に近い段階まできていますが、以前のような激しいパフォーマンスを繰り返して行くと、また同じ状態になる可能性もある」という診断を受けました。

今回の診断を受け、会社と本人と十分に協議をした結果「もちろん、モーニング娘。の活動は続けたいが、再発する可能性があるのであれば激しいダンスを多用する、モーニング娘。としての活動は難しいのではないか、また将来的に左足が完治しないとなると今後の生活にも支障をきたす」との考えから、苦渋の決断をし早期の卒業を選びました。

本人にとってはモーニング娘。の活動を途中でやめてしまうのは不完全燃焼の形となり、大変無念な思いではありますが、今後に関しては引き続き治療を続けながらHello！Project内でどのような活動が出来るかを本人と相談しながら決めていく予定です。

ファンの皆様には突然のご報告になります事をお詫びすると共に、何卒ご理解を頂きますようお願い申し上げます。

Apparently her foot is on the way to heal, but the activity involved in being a member would likely injure her foot again, and she must avoid that constant stress on her foot.

^ That's what her doctors told her, but at least she stated that she will be staying within hello project! I'm trying to remain positive here but it's kind of difficult.
