Hey there everyone, I'm new here.

I've pretty much finished my collection of the Seishun Uta Nenkan CD's, except for a couple. I've seen a couple of CD's posted on here (such as the ones from 1961 and 1962), but I was wondering if anyone perhaps has the collections from 1966 and 1967. On Amazon Japan they are both VERY expensive, so I was wondering if anyone has either of those compilations.

Also, props to the person that mentioned Kazumasa Oda and Off Course earlier in this topic. They are by far my favorite group!

I'm very desperately looking for an album by Chieko Baisho. Any album. Maybe like her Golden Best or something like that? The only thing I do NOT want is the song she did for Howl's Moving Castle, Sekai no Yakusoku.

I'm usually pretty good at finding things online, but Chieko Baisho is next to impossible to find for download besides that one song. My friend asked me to look for her music months ago and I'm sad that I've had to disappoint her so far. Now her birthday is coming up June 11 and I'd really like to give her some Chieko Baisho to listen to.

I'll be buying an album for her when I get a job, but in the meantime, a download would be wonderful. Please take pity on me, I would greatly appreciate your help! Thank you very much!

I only have 3 songs of hers, they're all videos of appearances on Kouhaku.
(I can't give youtube links as I downloaded them years ago and they're probably not on there any more so I uploaded them instead.)

(She made one other Kouhaku appearance in 1964 but I don't think that years Kouhaku still exists in the Japanese TV archives.)

Your best bet for finding more of her songs is youtube.  Search for her name in Japanese and you'll have better success.  Here's her name in Japanese: 倍賞千恵子
Paste that into youtube and you'll find a lot more songs than searching her name in English.

^ good choice L4verra san.........He is   村下孝蔵  /  Kozo Murashita, and he had a string of hits
from the early 80's through the early 90's.

 He continued to perform and record, until his untimely demise- he had a stroke at
a rehearsal on June 24, 1999. He was just 46 years old.


The song is 初恋 / Hatsukoi (First Love) released on February 25, 1983. The song was somewhat different from his predominant style, which tended to be more folk based. He was a very good guitarist as well.

Here is a live version (performance is in 1990) of 春雨 / Harusame (Spring Rain)
which was released on  January 21, 1981:

Ah, you're right!  Thanks for solving the mystery.
All those old cassettes were encoded by a guy on usenet who bought them from a market stall.  I remember we were confused because a Frank Nagai track had a female vocal.

Hello Everybody!

I just signed in to give thanks to everybody who takes part at this thread and to ask you for help.

A few days back i watched a video on youtube which i like because of the music. Of course I don't know what the lyrics are about, after a while somebody told me it's somehing about karate-do. But what really interests me is the music. You know I not only love japanese popular music, but also enka and stuff like that. There is that typical tune in japanese music and in other asian countries too, but because I like the japanese language the most the japanese music is the one I like the most. So if you be so kind, could you analyse the link I attached down below and tell me where I can find more music like that? Like interprets, albums, or even the name of the genre or the time in which this music was played or famous for. I'd really appreciate your help.



After doing a bit research I got to the assumption, that this one could be some kind of gunka (japanese military music) styled song.
Anyway, there is another song - at least the first 12 seconds, because after that it turns to some electronical thing -, which I heard in a video game and it reminded me of a style of music I always wanted to know, but never could find on the internet.

I really hope you can help me with my request. I already downloaded a bunch of the uploaded albums but this kind of genre wasn't contained, or I just missed it.
