My friend just blogged about Ann Lewis.  Yes, that's me he mentioned and, yes I STILL don't have a feel for the song (apart from the occasional karaoke performance).  Some things, you just have to have been there.

Acouple of days i watched a movie named "Zi Hudie" the lead actress was Zhang Ziyi, in this movie they played a song, that i really really fall in love with  :inlove: (i dont understand anything of the song, but i love the singer voice  :P), i managed to track the title but i couldnt find the song anyware, i posted the title in many forums without luck , i searched everywere, its driving me insane :sweatdrop: ...

The info of the song that i managed to track:
"The Moon Of A Garden Bridge"
Music by Shigeru Tamura
Lyrics by Sonosuke Sato
Performed by Utako Matsushima
Courtesy of King Record Company Co. Ltd.

Here's a link where you can listen a bit of the song: http://www.helloziyi.us/Videos/PurpleButterfly.mp3

Hi!!  :)

Hi!

I found that the Chinese for "The Moon Of A Garden Bridge" is 花园桥之月, but when I searched for that all I found was several posts on Chinese forums, and via Google translate I read that Chinese people are also looking for the song, and they can't find it either!

There's this clip of the movie on youtube that I think includes the song...

I tried searching Utako Matsushima's name in Japanese (松島詩子) on youtube and found this, someone in the comments says it sounds similar to "The Moon Of A Garden Bridge" but I think it's a different song...

Sig gone. Tinypic is no more.

Or should I say, her official recordings are hard to find...

Someone on youtube has been posting audio of Ishida Ayumi TV shows.  They've posted about 14 hours of stuff so far, they post 2 or 3 more files every weekend.  What's interesting is with some of them someone was taking photos off the TV screen during the original broadcast, and the photos have been added to the video as a slideshow.  (He/she also likes posting photos of their pet dog, called Ayu.)
I believe many of these performances don't exist in the TV archives so this is the only way you can see them.

This one is awesome...

2. Judy Ong - Namida no Dress
3. Ishida Ayumi - Interview
4. Ishida Ayumi - Namida no Naka o Aruiteru
5. Kawana Miki - Hana wa Naiteiru
6. Ishida Ayumi - Kyou Kara Anata to
7. Outro

And wow, I've never heard of Kawana Miki but wow, I love her voice.
Also at this time the Apollo 11 capsule was orbiting the moon preparing to land!

Whoever encoded the audio has faulty equipment though, causing glitches.
Here's a glitch-free version of the audio: http://www.twitter.com/?d=SXD1HNAX

Me, too.  I'm still loyal to my 1970s kayokyoku/J-idols.  Still some of my fave karaoke material!

thumbs up for the song and for the album cover!! The Tempters sing about the Legend of the Emerald:

ザ・テンプターズThe Tempters/エメラルドの伝説

Is that song a theme to an anime / movie / drama, or is that just the name of the song? its pretty awesome by the way.

I am not sure if that song by the Tempters was associated with an anime/movie/ etc.
Here is Kyoko Takada with みんな夢の中 (Minna Yume No Naka/ Everyone in My Dream) from 1969- a very pretty sounding song, but she has a lot of emotional strength in her voice for a 23 year old:

And a few years down the road of life, Kyoko Takada still has a wonderful ability :

Saw a great commercial for old-school J-Pop on teevee and was compelled to rip & upload to YouTubey:

Don't let the price scare you...  Well, YES you best pass on this and put the money down instead on your first mortgage.  Crazy expensive!

Yea it was expensive, but that sounded like a great collection. If I had that much just laying around I'd buy it, because old school flacs are a beautiful thing... but thats hella expensive without an accompanying sextape for each idol on there...

Even with shipping and tax included thats an astronomical price... how did they figure? Sure a new big named person's cd could be like like 3000 yen+ or more... and 5 of those would add up to that price... but seriously how did they figure that number?

Off Topic, was that a japanese tv commerical or english tv commercial that was subbed?

Back on topic... take a little yamaguichi momoe since I'm here

I have a jewellery box (for my cufflinks and tie clips of course!) that plays this song on organelle!!! Did not know the song when I bought it... but was greatly surprised when I heard the real song.

I think it's a Nihongo commercial aimed at older expatriates living in the USA. I also saw an extended infomercial-type program that was about 15 minutes in length, having a radio DJ touting the value of the collection.
