Surprising nobody's been talking about this in here. But

Is Kaka going to Man Shitty (sorry, City) for £100mil?!

What was first a rumour no doubt fuelled by media speculation to sell more copies of newspapers has gained momentum to become global headlines. Reportedly it would be £100mil+ plus an extra £10mil for Kaka's personal use if he signs on top of £500,000 a week. Yes, a week. And all to kick a football about.

Now Kaka is fastly denying he's going anywhere and wants to grow old with the club and become it's captain one day. An admirable quality I feel, I personally would like to see more players stay loyal to their clubs and not just become turncoats the second a big money offer comes through. However, AC Milan are bound to think otherwise, with a transfer fee that not only breaks the world record, it grabs it by the throat and smashes it over it's knee before pissing on it's remains. Shame really, Kaka's a loyal player for AC Milan and it would appear they're going to be the ones selling him down the river.

It's an absolutely ludicrous sum for any player and as Arsene Wenger put it, "an inflatory price in a deflationary market". Kaka seems a sensible guy who would rather play for a big name club for footballing reasons rather than financial. Let's face it, why on earth would you leave a world renowned club like AC to a club that's not even the best in their city, and currently fighting to avoid relegation? The Arab owner says he would like John Terry for £40 mil, Messi, Mourinho as coach. It's pure fantasy football and reality will sink in at some point. Buying the best players in the world and sticking them in a team does not make them immediate winners as seen many times over.

In other news, Utd have their eyes on the top of the Premiership this weekend, gaining momentum after their 3-0 thrashing of non-existant Chelsea last Sunday and Benitez's now infamous rant on Fergie. Villa look good to grab 4th place this season and from 11th place downwards, it's anyone's game when it comes to the relegation zone.

heh, strangley enough, a mate of mine doesn't rate Barcelona's current form

So, Man City go for Kaka and they get Craig Bellamy instead. Fantastic :D Mark my words, they'll be harping on about signing Messi but eventually wind up with Titus Bramble.

Messi won't go anywhere ! He loves his club and the club loves him.  :D

Messi said : "I don't know how all this came out, but I never wanted to quit this club. If I would leave, it would only be the club's decision. Barcelona have been extraordinary with me and with my family, I am grateful to them".
Yeah Barca paid for his medical thingy and all when nobody wants to care for him.

About Manchester City. . I hope they will stay in the 3 last of the english championship. I don't want another Chelskea team seriously. . . killing the market.

^ On the plus side though, other clubs are well aware of City's wealth and are already trying to exploit as much as possible for players. Obviously Kaka at £50 mil was one, but look at their recent signing, De Jong is it? What £17 mil they bought him for? They could have got him for £2.5 if they waited til the end of the season. Santa Cruz is touted as being £20mil and Bellamy's transfer is incredibly flattering for someone who's spent most of his time injured and only scored 2 goals last season.

Scolari's been sacked!!

Chelsea

Just what does that accomplish exactly? If the rumours are to be believed then he didn't have the support of the dressing room and not getting the desired results he wanted. Perhaps the day-to-day workings of a club were at odds with his recent experience at coaching on a national level. But still, 4th in the league and still challenging for the FA Cup and Champions League. And to get rid of him at this stage? How many managers do you think would be lined up for the job? Supposedly they're looking for a double team of Hiddink and Grant oh dear, some horrible images in my mind there Yeh that works. Replacing one national manager with another. Too funny

Pretty good weekend for United supporters (apart from Chelsea's late goal). Most important of all is the Carling Cup win today which sees us with 3 trophies already this season (Community Shield, World Club Cup and Carling Cup) and the talk is getting stronger of us landing a Quintuple of trophies.

I personally don't think we will be that lucky. Not saying we won't win any more trophies, I think our squads the strongest I've ever seen it and we're in for a shout for the League being 10pts clear. However there's still a while to go, some injuries may damage the squad and you can never tell what will happen in Cup tournaments, you need a bit of luck with you as well as the ability. I think it's a little too close to call between us and Inter for example.

On another note, while Giggs rightly deserves the plaudits he's getting, I think Vidic should rightly be given the Player of the Year award this season. :D

^ Yeh if Benzema is holding good on his promise to not leave Lyon until they win the CL, he could be there for a some time

And hooray for us! Inter gave us a couple of scares in the game, but we were fortunate that Ibramovich bottled it  Bring on the scousers on Sat.

With all 8 clubs confirmed shall we take a guess at the Quarter Finals? When is the draw for that btw? Friday? Anyway:

Man Utd v Liverpool (I can feel it)
Bayern Munich v Arsenal
Chelsea v Villareal
Barcelona v Porto
