Seen any good bollywood lately? well I have it's a movie called Jhoom Barabar Jhoom starring Abhishek Bachchan & Preity Zinta. The movie was good but the Music was great do I thought I'd share.

Sure there's a thing like Indian pop. When I think of East Indian Pop I think Bollywood line dancing. A whole range of dialects and instruments. Hip hop and Reggae influences.

 I have that soundtrack too.  I really like Tere Naina, but that's more of a slow, but sweet song.  <3

As far as I know (I could be wrong, just human here) the Ghazal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghazal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghazal) is the original musical form used in Bollywood music.
The talkies (sound movies) started in the 30's, in this period and the 40's the Ghazal was used for films, later in the 50's and onwards a lot of western influences came into this music.
The official name of Bollywood music is called Filmi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filmi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filmi) nowadays.

Hindy music have a big group of followers here in Perú... well i think is not bigger that anime fans but surely is notorious, once i saw a hindy pop dance crew winning a contest on tv
