I've heard of Linkin Park, but not Linking Park. I hope they're better than Linkin ;)
Nah, I can't stand them. Used to like them, but then they went all pompous by saying their albums 'go beyond music' or that Chester Bennington is 'the voice of a generation'.
-
No I don't know Linkin Park, but I love their music. Yes they're pompous and arrogant, but what does that have to do with music? Anyway try searching google and you'll find a bunch of fansites. I personally don't visit any. Don't care to. You can also join their fan club, not sure if its free though. Also they have LPTV on youtube.

Get this album:

That's all you need from them, the rest is crap...

They are floggin' the new album pretty hard in here in Japan.
So much so, it's the only Western artist poster I've seen in ages at the local record stores.
Looks quite strange because the posters go "Japanese, Japanese, Japanese, Linkin Park, Japanese, Japanese" (you get the idea)

Don't know em but their first album was pretty cool. Second album was okay... this latest one just stinks IMO. Probably because the first album came out when I was like... uhh 17?? Regardless, I still would think this 3rd was crap; 17 or not. I actually liked Mike Shinoda's solo album though *shrugs* ;D
Overall I still like em, I just don't like this last one save for 2 or 3 songs.

They've been a guilty pleasure of mine (sans their dope remix album) until their newest CD. Their latest album is a great rock album either way you look at it (I don't feel weird at all defending it). Easily their most progressive, most mature, best written, and best composed album to date.
As a sidenote, Fort Minor was one of the best hip-hop releases of 2005 (haters be damned).

I agree on this to a certain extent. It is more mature and probably best written but I think it lost that distinctive sound Linkin Park has. I'm all for the maturity of Linkin Park but not at the cost of their identity. Green Day did an excellent job at maturing their music and keeping their sound... but it took many years & many albums; hopefully Linkin Park finds that balance too :D

Hybrid Theory was *awesome" (although some of the tracks could've been a little bit more polished).
My perspective may have been a little skewered by the fact that I was a lot younger back then...
-
Linkin Park is actually one of my favorite band....
they have made 4 albums
Hybrid Theory,Reanimation,Meteora and the latest Minutes To Midnight....

Those other albums are mostly remixes though, aren't they?? They made a couple of those I believe... *shrugs* I usually don't count the spin offs, hehe.

^The only original was Reanimation. The rest had original tracks.
-
Linkin Park are doing the "Live Earth (http://www.liveearth-japan.jp/)" concert in Tokyo next month with AI, ayaka, Otsuka Ai, Koda Kumi, Cocco, Genki Rockets, RIZE and Rihanna.
That would be pretty sweet to see.
-
Hybrid Theory was great.. well.. it was ok.. I hated the rest. Especially the new cd is too lame to be even writing about it.

I think they did a "Live in Texas" album as well????? All I know, is the DVD of them performing was good.
I had the chance to see Linkin Park in London, before their Hybrid Theory album was released in the UK. Got sidelined, and now I seriously regret it.

The only song I like is "Numb" and cuz Jay-Z rapped over it
I haven't listened to any new songs but here's the new video:

i'm a big fan of their music. the main thing that has me listening to them is Chester. his voice is just awesome! if you've had the chance to listen to his song on the Queen of the Damn soundtrack you know what i mean. Mr. Han is also pretty cool. so far i have all of their albums and planning to get the new one coming out.
looking forward to the Live Earth concert
-
the only song that i liked to them was the one step closer because of the scream in the chorus that's too mind blowing
-
I downloaded a copy of "Minutes to Midnight" as a preview before I went out and bought the album.
Having listened to it, I don't think I'll be buying it.
Just too bland - maybe it'll grow on me.
-
I have all of album(Hybrid Theory,Reanimation,Meteora and Minutes To Midnight) but i almost like their first and 3rd album
-
Favorite band. :) :) :) I  Linkin Park

I loved Linkin Park.
They introduced me into rock music, well more like my sis let me listen to her Linkin Park CDs and then I was introduced into the rock genre. I love their music from their earlier years until 'Minutes to Midnight', though MtM wasn't a great album it had some good songs but nothing that really wowed me honestly. Hybrid Theory is still my favorite album as 'In The End' is my all time favorite song.
Somehow their punk sound turned a little softer and while I can dig it, it just doesn't have the same feel as before or maybe I'm just growing out of them, I mean i was like 10-12 when I was really into them.
-
^ Hybrid Theory is their best album hands down as for favorite song, I love Faint, although in the end is probably their most famous
-
^I loved Hybrid Theory and I loved all the songs on that album, I really liked the album art too.
The gundam version of the album was really cool, I remember being all happy about it since Gundam was one of my favorite animes and thinking it was cool that Linkin Park liked it too.
-
Their latest album was pretty good.

Ah, Linkin Park...this band put me through hell when it came to discussing music with other people.
I absolutely LOVED their first album when I first discovered them...besides being quite different from the hip hop and urban pop I was so used to at the time, they did such an awesome job blending and balancing hip-hop with nu-metal/funk-metal. Upon discovering their independent EP from 1999 I instantly pegged them as my new favorite music artist, and the Reanimation remix album is sitll one of my favorite albums of all time. But when Meteora came it didn't seem quite right...the lyrics got simpler and the genre-blending seemed a bit less natural, plus the dreary subject matter became a bit overbearing at this point (though I did appreciate the inclusion of a straight hip-hop track). And when Minutes to Midnight came about, I was glad they wanted to ditch the whole "emo" overtones of their old work, but their music (the most important part) became a bland rock sound, losing the funk and edge that appealed to me in the first place. But having heard a few tracks from their recent album, I might be willing to give them another chance, this time knowing things are different now.
Mike Shinoda really needs to release another Fort Minor album. I've always felt he's at his best when he makes more hip-hop oriented music (my own genre bias aside), and he did as good a job as anyone could to give Styles of Beyond the broader recognition they deserve.
(and I just realized that all the people named Shinoda who are relevant to my interests have first names that start with M--Mike, Miho, Mariko XD )

what happend to this band?
the newest album is just... the last 2 also...
(Meteora was sooooo great... RiP Linkin-Park is no more a "NuMetal" Band)
-
Linkin Park is one of my favourite western bands and my favourite song is Numb and New Divide
-
Ah, Living Things came out on June 20th but I listened to it about a week ago, very late
I like the album, it's great, better than their previous two albums mostly because there are elements present on this album that are reminiscent of their early works, such as the nice return of Chester's screaming and songs like Victimized and Lies Greed Mystery. There are also songs in this album that are similar to the ones in Minutes to Midnight but they are much better because of a rock sound such as Castle of Glass and Roads Untraveled. I like 'Burn It Down' the most, because I think Chester's singing is really great here, particularly when he sings the reff part. That ability of his to sing while screaming so controlled like that is just awesome.
:twothumbs

I don't have anything against the group itself, but I don't like it because it's fanbase is too edgy for me :shocked

love living thing

Today in Europe appeared in "The Hunting Party" and I think it is not like the previous two albums pretty good, although I do not care what they do all like me. :)
