Based on 4koma manga by Yoshimizu Kagami (美水かがみ).

Having fun in school, doing together homework, cooking and eating, playing videogames, watching anime. All those little things make up the daily life of the anime- and chocolate-loving Izumi Konata and her friends which is portrayed here. Sometimes relaxing but more than often simply funny!

I only watched the first episode so far, but it already seems that the opening dance/screen is a parody of Haruhi as well. I don't really see the charm in it so far (uh, besides the cuteness overload), but I'll follow it at least another episode. BTW, that Lucky Channel thing was crazy. Lol, Berryz Lover?

The Akira (the idol-like girl reading out mails) skit at the end of each episode is really amusing, I love the way she plays out her 'hidden' character.

Yeah, the Inital D sequence was great, it had the music too. Ep 5 had me with the MMO. It has the best ending with the Dragon Ball theme karaoke.

She's also into galge/eroge & collects bishoujo figures LOL I blame her dad! He's a really cool dude, it seems XD

I haven't watched "Maria-sama ga Miteru" and never finished "Strawberry Panic" though (so no spoilers pls, I have only 4 eps to watch) :/ We used to have a StoPani thread too but now it's gone (well, I was the only one posting in it anyway ) T_T

Bishoujo figures, okay, but even eroge!? What the heck is the legal age for buying this stuff in Japan!? (Not that I think she got the stuff legally lol) Haha, that definition of cool must be cool to otakus and not "normal people" XD. I've never seen an anime otaku in an anime, so Konata's character is highly appealing to me ^^;;. (And gosh, voiced by the goddess Hirano Aya too.)

Sorry that I kind of spoiled you! I had been under the impression that SP was one of those minority anime things that nobody (here) watched x_X. Though it's funny enough to be understood without having watched Maria-sama ga Miteru, Konata's impersonation was really superb and is even better having watched Marimite.

It was shocking when I saw those seiyuu pictures too, holy, how rare is it for all of the main cast to be that cute!?

I think it's a recent trend for seiyuu's to be cute just or almost as cute as the characters they're playing, as otaku are more interested in them. I think Densha Otoko sorta showed that lol

Looks like Motteke! Sailorfuku is still hanging in there at #14 today. (I don't know where to get the weekly rankings.) By the way, does anyone know if the 4koma is still running right now? If it is, is there enough material for a second season (or does it even use material from it o_o)?

Oops! I had been blabbing on and didn't realize I didn't get to the main point <_<. Guess now I know not to make posts at 2 AM.

Watched episode 13 this morning, too bad a.f.k's subs don't have the sponsors after the OP! I watched a bit of the raw last week and I remember there was this weird random person (real person) at the sponsors screen :lol: Maybe this just happens every week but I never see it >_>

Rofl at the shop owner dude having the Geass @_@ I guess his Geass failed anyway since Konata didn't try to like, run off with it or anything despite not having enough money. Amazing how Shiraishi and Akira get like 5 minutes of screentime but can still win the first two positions of the poll too.

I can't get enough of this show, everytime I see the Lucky Channel sign I say "Noo!!!" because it means the episode is about to end :/

I couldn't help myself and watched ep17(which just aired a few hours ago) on niconico, the problem was the whole episode was mozaiced XD damn bastards. From what I can tell, it's another great episode, with some surprises. Lucky Channel and the end was especially awesome. XD Can't wait for the subbed and actually watchable version to be released :lol:

It's understandable that they would kick off the series with a lot of references coming in left and right, but I like that they're pulling it back a bit now. The last thing you want is to have a good show (which has a lot of potential) to burn out quickly because the writers can't keep up with what people demand. I like that they're making things a bit more topical rather than simply "an ode to otaku-dom".

But there were probably a bunch of references that just flew over my head(or couldn't see) :lol: But yeah, I love the "life stories" that they talk about, you really have no idea what direction they're gonna go to next. I think it's sorta the same charm that drew me towards shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy. I like the otaku stuff, but that could only really go so far with me, as I actually know relatively little about otaku culture and anime.

What I meant is most of what I know is from 2nd hand info and haven't really experienced real japanese otaku for myself. Also, I don't really watch anime that often so some of the stuff just blows over my head. I just think that there's so much more to this show that I can't get because of all that.

Absolutely fantastic and hilarious series with a touch of some very nice caring and emotional scenes especially during the last few episodes. There were a lot of great meta jokes in the last episode that had me cracking up laughing so hard :lol:

So after 24 episodes, I just have to ask.... what the hell was it that smelled so bad??? The girls are ALWAYS talking about something that stinks, and it drives me crazy that we don't even get a hint of what they might be talking about XD

Ah well, there's always next season~
