Title: Man injured after suicidal woman jumps off building, lands on his head

A man was injured after a suicidal woman who jumped off the roof of a Tokyo building landed on his head on Friday afternoon, police said. (http://mdn.mainichi-msn.co.jp/national/news/20070428p2a00m0na002000c.html)

My question is, how did she manage to die but the dude only had a couple bruises?

It must have been a glancing blow to the guy. Lucky for him to survive this.

I've heard of cases where the suicider survived but the person the the suicider landed on died from the impact.
The man was lucky to only be injured.

"Investigators said they suspect that the woman, an 18-year-old university student, committed suicide, noting that her coat was left on the rooftop."

If I die, I'm taking my coat with me!

Yeah, when I saw that I was like "okay, so if I want to kill somebody in Japan, I take them to the roof, remove their coats and then push them. Police will find the coats and think it was suicide!!!"

Similar incident happened in my country before.......but that guy did not as lucky as this guy...........

Good thing the guy wasn't traumatized... an incident happened at my friend's school where a kid blew off his head with a shotgun in the chem lab... and then in the morning the security guard slipped on the kid's blood... yeah.

glad that the man only suffered injuries and not fatal.  he is just at the wrong place at the wrong time.  too bad about the girl though.... mentally unstable and dying at such a young age.

Though I'm sure this has happened other places... but it's kinda sad that I immediately thought "Japan" when I saw the thread.
