MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Staff members of an elementary school staged a fictitious gun attack on students during a class trip, telling them it was not a drill as the children cried and hid under tables. (http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-05-13-fake-gun-attack_N.htm?csp=34)
They had teachers walk around in hooded gear? WTF? How can you expect a bunch of kids to react in the right way when you don't show them how to react?
-
I bet they learned the lesson a lot better because of those 5 minutes of REAL FEAR!
If it had happened in my school I think everyone would have thought it was cool... But american parents... jeden tag so schnell :-[
-
i think if it happen in my country.... the kids will just cry their ass off.... and the parents will complain until the school got close down...
-
lol the teachers must be nuts -_-"

Wonder what would have happened if someone had attacked and killed one of the fake gunmen?

What a dumb move. All they had to do was discretely give notice to the parents ahead of time and they could have easily separated the "scare kids" from the "no-scare kids." They could have gotten away with scaring the shit out of these kids and not have to deal with these complaining parents. Hell, I bet some of the parents would have even paid the staff to have them film their kids being scared. I know I would. Cherished Memories...
And in regard to the obligatory bash America post, Do you honestly believe only American parents would react negatively to their kids being led to believe they were going to be killed?

I think it is a good lesson. But it could be better designed lesson. One needs to know how to react and overcome fear.
- For example: the student in Virginia Tech who jumped out of window in one class are mostly alive. Also some student whom blocked the classroom door and didn't budge even when shot through door made right decision and right execution.

..............how stupid is the teacher

lol... wtf... that's just fucked up.
I agree that something like this should've had parental consent... but I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea. It could've been planned out better though...

I dont think this is right cause some people might not be able to handle this type of anxiety or fear. In the end it can eventually hurt them psychologically and mentally.
