A 17-year-old high school student was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of killing his mother after turning himself in at a police station in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture, carrying her severed head, police said.
According to the police, the boy, in his third year at a prefectural high school, came to Aizuwakamatsu Police Station at about 7 a.m. on Tuesday with the head in his school bag. He told the police he had killed his mother at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The police went to the boy's apartment in the city, where they found the headless body of the mother.

such a sad incident. my condolences to the mother and her familiy. if it's a psychological problem, i hope he gets treated. but for a son to kill his mother...

HOLY CRAP!! Someone needs to get the boy help. He's lost a few wires. I feel sorry for the family, but I seriously think the guy needs some help....at least he turned himself in. I wouldn't wanna know what would happen if he didn't....

o_O that's twisted...so why did he do it?..."I killed her by myself at home early Tuesday morning while she was asleep. I wanted to kill somebody, whoever it was."...ok... i know he maybe hates the world and society but who would kill his own mom? he needs some serious help...

........ this must be a psychological matter. There must be something wrong with his mental processes, his environment, and his behaviors.
I mean he is perceived to be a nice kid by the neighbor and such. Besides, he is only 17, wth? how can he have the mind and will to carry on the killing? even thinking about cutting a piece of meat with a saw is scary...sawing your mom's head with that? tottally inhumane. She must have done something to him or is highly hated by him in some ways that constitute for the killing. Maybe a horrible fight the night before that flickers the anger he had it for her all this time of his life. Only anger could lead to such detrimental behavior and long term anger leads to vengeance. When you are mad to the extreme, you tend to say words that hurts people and hurt others, and if that level touches the boundary of killing...it has to be something of long term... I'm sure he wanted to kill her all along, just to cut off the barrier that she created in his life? [Hence the buying of the saw] At the same time turning himself in and escaping the torture of his mom?...
To say that I kill her because i hate her is something of the obvious and embarrasing and not shocking but denotes a sense of selfish and stupidity. I think he is just making stuff up. But its just a thought.
Turning yourself in and with her head in the book bag is digusting and I can't live like that and I can't picture that either.
I really don't get the mind of killers...I don't...but i want to know why they choose to kill like that and I can't imagine. The worst it comes to is having me watching "guinea pig: flower of flesh and blood" which is a remade of a real footage and IT WAS DIGUSTING..
I'm not shocked, I'm not surprised..But i am intrigued to explore the mind of the killers....

Psychological matter or not, he killed his fucking mom and he should be prosecuted and pwnd to the fullest extent of the law. He's a fucking senior in high school for christ's sake. Just because he has psychological issues (not directed towards above posts) doesn't mean he's exempt from his actions.

According to sources close to the boy, he regularly visited a hospital in the city due to a developmental disorder that makes it difficult for him to build interpersonal relationships.
I guess this sorta explains why his mother of all people... in his mind she probably wasn't really a mother to him anymore than the old women in his neighborhood were. She's not the person most other think about when they think of their mother.
Seems like he chose her cause she was an easy target... and did it just for the sake of doing it.
Also he said he WANTED a war or terrorist attack to occur, not that he wanted it to stop.
He truly has a sick mind, probably sicker than most people can ever really imagine.
At least he turned himself in.
I think this kid should be locked up for good.

that's it... the government would be crazy to ever let the boy loose on the streets again
electric chair, guillotine, or hanging, whichever punishment is available there, give it to the boy!

Wacko kid!!! I heard this on the news the other day. Just shows what the new gen is coming to. The news also said that this is coming out as a trend as there were reports of a 11 yr girl who stabbed her classmate to death..... and a couple of kids killed their school teacher. I wonder where we are going to go with this??!!!

Have a read of the Sakakibara Case (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sakakibara), where a 14year old boy killed a 10year old girl, then beheaded an 11year old boy and left his head at a school gate.
Twisted little fucker only had to spend 6years in jail. >:(

I think the 11yo girl you're talking about it Nevada-tan? She's grown quite a cult following on the internet. Japan definitely has a bunch of socio-psychological problems they need to deal with :/
There are wack jobs everywhere, but I think that the people in japan live in such densely populated areas, it's easier for this kind of thought to spread.

I'm sure the mother had a part in this as well. I mean kids don't all of a sudden become a nutcase on their own.

It's obvious that he was mentally ill. Causing a child to kill and chop his own mother's head off would need bad parenting to the extreme... Maybe they should have try to get help or something but accusing the parents is kinda cruel.

wtf... some of these kids really need some help and this kid must've really had some problems... I hope they sent him to a psychological unit somewhere that's isolated from largely populated cities. But a head in a bag is weird... O_O|| A hand in a pot is weird too... O_O||||
