They've been looking at popularity in sales to judge who to give PBs to.
Risako is the winner by far and apparently is very far ahead of te second Miyabi and I'm guessing Momo is third - cuz I mean her wota's are crazy famous lol.
SO I'm guessing that UFA etc are too scared to try and push the others yet or something??
Anyway congratz Risako, but I agree a general BK PB would've been nice...

I don't think it's that they're too 'scared'. It's business. No reason for them to release something that's not gonna sell. (But don't ask me about a single every 3 years of some soloists. :P) The 5 kids who have released solo PBs are very popular and they sure can sell. Official goods of girls like Risako, Momo and, like, Airi sell better than some of MM members (and I don't mean a noob like Mitsui).
The chance for lesser popular girls would be like pairing PBs. I'd expect one of Hagiwara x Chisato and one of Yurichina.

Yay, Risako~~ I liked the last PB even if everyone was groaning about the bikins. The way I see it is, they make bikins for babies and next to nobody sexualizes babies, so bikinis don't automatically mean sexy/wrong/perverted.
(Besides, the bikini shots were the good photos...)

And bikini pics ARE completely unnecessary, these girls would make lovely PBs without a bikini in sight. But why do they take bikini pics? To serve for those pervs who want to see skin. No one has demonized PBs and no one is misinterpreting the word 'pure' you are just ignorant to what that word is associated with.
Me personally, I don't have a problem with bikini's in PBs, I just won't buy them cuz it makes me feel uncomfortable. I only have a slight problem when the bikini pics become suggestive which quote often they aren't its sort of 'we just happen to be in bikini's not doing anything different' generally.
But girls accosiated with magazines like purepure do have suggestive images I mean have you heard of imouto.tv someone mentioned it on another forum when discussing about the underage girls in H!P not being that bad.
People are just concerned that the title pure+ can imply it is going in that direction.

Perfectly normal, but I don't think it's normal that the girl is having pictures taken of her to publish to the world. I would bring up the "you wouldn't like it if it was someone in your family" arguement, but Reyfer has already stated he would happily take pictures of his nieces in bikinis to show to the world, so I guess there's no point.
I mean, how long is it going to be until we all have to see Maimai soaking wet with her legs wide open? I would say just let the kids be kids, but I understand that they are idols, so I'll just have to get over it... which I'm not doing a great job of, since I'm in here complaining.

Just a note when in comes to Japan and photobooks: don't bother deciphering the titles. 9 out of 10 times, the titles have no connection to the contents whatsoever. They're just there to look classy; think about it, what would sell better:

I pretty much agree with Ayabie and others who say that the title says nothing about the content and that bikini pictures are obligatory in a photobook. At least it looks like UFA tries to obey some own rules because if you compare H!P kids PBs with stuff like imouto.tv etc. you can see a difference, you only need to look at the startpage.
It's everyone's right to demand bikini less PBs (I would prefer more "casual wear" too) but I think that won't really happen. Even though I remember some PBs with not so many bikini shots, but they are rare.
We don't know yet what kind of pictures will be in this PB anyway...
But of course they want to make money and therefore they choose a name that sounds interesting D:
Imho it's not really a question of Risako's pb, rather worth a discussion about photobooks and photobook in Japan of underage people in particular : O but this is not what the thread is about, so...
Let's see how the covers will look like, her in a bikini to underline the possible "sexual meaning" of the title?

Of course, that is impossible. It depends on individuals. You can't really control what the buyers think of the PB. What some of us have problems about this is not what the receivers will think about it, but the intention of the senders. You might not feel sexually aroused by these PBs - and you don't have to be - but to deny all sexual contents 'hidden' in them is just too naive.
Oh, and when Risako's 3rd PB comes out, I'll ban all threads about it coz it'll be just the same anyway. XD

You have the right to ask for a bikini-less PB, that is true. If those pics make you uncomfortable, you must have your reasons. But to condemn a book you have yet not seen based on the fact that the word "pure" is also present in the title of a dubious magazine, that's what I don't get. I really don't care if there are bikini shots or not. It's just that automatically making the connection of the title with something wrong, is something that I would have never done (and I know the magazine). I really thought that Risako's previous PB showed you it was wrong to make this kind of assumptions (remember there was a big debate about the bikini pics on that, and it turned out to be a beautiful, innocent, playful PB). Also Momoko's PB, everybody was going around like the bikini shots were a sign of the end of the world, and that PB turned out to be absolutely beautiful in a playful, innocent way.
So at least wait until you get previews to condemn the PB?

The point was, these kind of books are legal in a lot of countries, so why not accept that line instead of drawing own lines way below and condemning others for crossing them. :)
I don't mind people wanting no bikinis or even having a problem with it, I do have a problem with them judging me for my opinions.
Sexual comments of that nature could be considered sexual harrassment and thus be against the law. I might very well be wrong.
Local rules like in the forum should be followed of course, never said you have no right to demand that.

I remember seeing the screencap of this, put right next to a nasty fanart made of this (you can imagine that it was EXACTLY what was Shirenu was talking about). So - seriously. The whole point here is that people were complaining about the title of the PB being "Pure+" just because a sleazy magazine has the same name. If there are pics that offend you, that's another story. But at least wait for the pics. Lets put it this way: I just found out there is a whole series of really disturbing U15 videos called "Cute". Does that mean that if the japanese press uses the word "cute" to describe this PB they are hinting at that kind of "cute"? It is the same thing. Guilty by association. Automatically think something is wrong without any proof based on a random association.
And I'm not blind. I just don't let what others might think (without knowing if they are actually thinking it or not) determine if I like something or not. I have enough troubles with my own decisions without having to base them on what people I don't know might think. There are lots of freaks out there with hundreds of fetishes. Some get sexually aroused by stockings, others are aroused by skirts, hell some are even aroused by girls wearing glasses. Should we ban all this from their PBs?

I can see it very well, it just doesn't make me think about anything sexual by default. These books are artbooks to me, pretty pictures with esteticly pleasing girls, not fap material.
I don't think you're a super perv, you're just very observant of anything that makes you uncomfortable. Why you feel the need to be that observant I don't know.

I just think comparing someone licking some whipped cream from her hand (no matter how suggestive) to an extreme fetish is way over the top. There are way less perverted situations it could be compared with.
I do consider myself a perv and have never thought of anything close to bukkake looking at that pic.
Therefore I question the mindset of the person making that comparison.

Lets stop this and just wait for a beautiful PB. There will always be people that like some things and dislike some things, and not everybody will see the pics the same way. We should just focus on what WE think. And Risako is a beautiful girl, and I'm sure the PB will be nice and "girly".

I'm not even sure what is being argued about in this thread anymore. This has all been "discussed" 1,000 times already on this forum. We're all from different cultures, we all have different values/moral standards and we can spend all day pointing our fingers at each other and all over the place. It's my own personal belief that if you immerse yourself in a hobby/entertainment world from a different culture, you kind of have to accept that culture's values, or at least be okay with the fact that it differs from your own. I have no issues with PurePure. I even have two numbers from 2006. I was just using the definition others used here:
Um if you had seen PurePure Photobooks maybe you'd understand. It's girls under 15 in suggestive poses 'n shit. Every time I see the title I'm reminded of those PBs, with a title like "pure+" it can hardly be avoided. It's not our fault you don't understand what we're talking about, eh?

Haha wow, okay. Plenty of words going back and forth. I would have to agree about waiting until at least some previews come out before we make any substantial judgments. But since I still have some opinions, I'll throw them out there for whatever it's worth.
And if you don't care about my philosophical bullcrap, then just leave it at that ignore the rest of my post.
What some of us have problems about this is not what the receivers will think about it, but the intention of the senders.
It'd be nice if the world were so black and white, to correctly assume that the sellers have a perverted intention. But come on, it's not that easy. These girls are human beings. A natural part of being a human is understanding your own sexuality, and learning how to express yourself; by how you walk, or the way you talk, or even how you dress--and let's face it, these girls are at that age where it's becoming relevant (when did any of us start learning about sexuality?). Certainly if the producers know there is a pretty penny to be made, there might be a problem with making the girls wear a bikini. But the girls by-and-large seem to enjoy making the PBs, and show little (if any) sign of being uncomfortable in a bikini.
Besides, there is something to be said about the cosplay fetish in Japan, and I would say if a girl felt embarassed to be seen wearing a costume, those sorts of pictures should be taken out long before censoring any bikini pictures. And what's to be said if the girls enjoy being in a bikini? Can we deny them the right to express themselves that way, just because we think "it's perverted"? If anything we should take away the school uniform pictures, because of the perversions the west has about Japanese "schoolgirl outfits". Or maybe we should all be blindfolded when we go to the beach.
To put it simply, these girls are growing up. And we as fans want to see them as they grow up (it's called idolizing them, go figure). Sexual expression is a normal part of human maturation, and the producers simply are not bashful about including it. Either way, the fans are still going to buy the PBs.
I've talked about this thing with friends who aren't pervs but can see the same things I see... Having a critical mind doesn't mean having a perverted mind.
Oh and, JUST BECAUSE *YOU'RE* BLIND TO IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT'S NOT THERE.

I don't think anyone here is in denial about these photos having possible sexual innuendo. But unless the girl is explicitly engaged in a sexual act, it's not as if sexual innuendo is the only thing there is. Someone might have a habit of looking at a bikini photo and thinking "whoa perv material". But I imagine most people don't go out of their way looking for "the perverted photos" to critisize (ie: do you look at PBs as you ask yourself "is this perverted?"). I for one never noticed "the way" in which Risako was holding the bagel until it was mentioned here. And I guess now that image has lost some of it's charm because I'll be reminded of it "being perverted". :(
For those people that are perverted--they're attracted to the girl, not the bikini. It's as if taking away all the bikini pictures will magically rid H!P of any perverts...
In any case, I just want to know, when did sexuality (not intercourse) become so taboo? These girls are at the age where it's becoming relevant; is the photo-documentation of their maturation really so unethical?

I for one will support the continued rule to not post thumbnails of bikini pictures in erring on the side of caution to not offend those who can't handle bikini pics. But censoring even discussion about bikinis seems too far to me. If the comments are inappropriate, maybe. But I don't see any problem in saying "those pictures were very cute", or even a simple "<3".
Oh yes, and about PurePure. For the uninitiated, it's a periodical that features pictorials of under-15 models, who participate largely in commercial contracts, such as starring in various television dramas or commercials, or being the model for a new product (like digital cameras, family insurance, etc). If you've ever seen an ad in a magazine or online which featured a young girl, chances are she had a partial debut in PurePure. It is far from being lewd.
If it's lewd you want, you're welcome to google any number of current scandals in Japan, involving 9- and 10-year old girls wearing T-backs, or the production gravure videos with girls as young as 4-years old. Go read up on that and then come back and see if H!P's photos bother you any longer.

The PB will be highly sexual to some, and be completely innocent to others. You don't have to see any previews to know that. It's all on how the certain individual sees it. Words have the same effect, I could say words like penis and vagina, and there will most likely be different reactions all over the place. Same goes for the title of the PB. It has nothing to do if you have a "sick", perverted mind, or a righteous one, we all think differently.
Just because there are racier stuff out there doesn't mean that some not so racy things aren't going to offend others. People are just trying to express how they think of the something but some offers feel the need to criticize that and sometimes it become a never ending discussion that doesn't go anywhere. I am far from innocent in doing this as I often take sides in both parties.

PB's are designed to sell. They're trying to appeal to the ones that like cute innocent things, as well as those who like the racier stuff. Even though it's not always obvious on what exactly a certain pic is trying to appeal to. It's up to you on how you want to see it.

I really liked the first PB and am looking forward to getting my hands on this one. The name is okay, of course, but the cover was somewhat of a let down, to tell you the truth. I hope the contents will be better.
Regarding the pseudo-bukkake scenes, I was shocked to learn that people could be so prudish. She's licking whipped cream from her hand and eating cake...not being ejaculated on! It's not a metaphorical representation...it's just cake and whipped cream.

Please, no. Nothing edgier or artsy. If people think of bukkake when watching a girl licking whipped cream from her hand (I still can't get over that quantum leap), can you imagine what would happen if something edgier is used?

And talking about whipped cream and bukkake... I just saw a cover of an Aibon-lookalike av. On the left was a bukkake fest, on the right was a pic of Aibon dressed as a chef with a cake in her hands and a whipped cream on her nose. :P

that's true tiny.. IMHO.. if u dont like it that doesn't mean that it a sin to publish it.. someone else might adore and love it.. that's why pb are one of big2 income for UFA..

The fact that Nono and Aibon managed to make PBs without much bikini shots(barely any and when there were, no 'funny' shots) means that it is completely unecessary.(meaning there ones when they were young)
There have never been any solo Yossi PBs with bikinis. Just a senseless point/observance.

That could be arranged for...but you'd have to call Goro Aida or something. When it comes to cutting edge photograph he's the king.
Regarding the contents, unlike the queen, we are pleased. The red swimsuit was pretty nice, but the only that really caught my attention was the light-blue patterned one. It really shows how much she grew up in less than 10 months. Furthermore, while I thought she was a little bit chubby, this PB shows me I was wrong. She is just perfect!

More intersting would be if there was some sort of purpose - like Aibon's was a journey.
More intersting outfits, like in Reina's recent PB that had great outfits. Just something to jazz it up a bit really.
They probably don't do anything special cuz they know it will sell regardless though -__-"

I just barely looked at this PB right now. And I have to say, it's pretty nice. Nothing really special I guess, but it was nice to look through
And @ the comment about her looking good in a bikini I read earlier, I don't really think so. And that has nothing to do with her age.
And to the people that don't like not being allowed to thumbnail loli bikini pics, just go to a loli pic loader if you want to see thumbnails.
