Kou Shibasaki 柴咲コウ

[bio - 2004] Kou Shibasaki debuted as an actress. Her breakout role was playing the bitch Mitsuko in "Battle Royale". She then released her debut single, "Trust my feelings". While it didn't sell that well, she shot to the top with her second single, "Tsuki no Shizuku", from the movie "Yomigaeri". Instead of releasing the single under her name, she used her character's name from "Yomigaeri" - RUI. Since then, Kou has become a popular artist as well as actress. She is now respected by both female and male audiences and has become a hot commodity.
BY FAR my fave actress and DAMN she's a good singer too! 8)

Those are the ones I've seen besides Battle Royale (well, not the dramas completely but I'm working on it), so I can truly recommend them :o Anyway, they're SUPER COOL!!! OMG AND KOU :heart: :heart:
I never really got into her singing career a lot (cuz all her songs kinda sound the same), but she does have a beautiful voice. So yesh...

I loved her in Battle Royale and in Chakushin Ari. She looked so pretty in both of them but I almost didn't recognize her in Chakushin Ari. That pocky commercial is so funny!

I have her first album, which I love!!^^ I would love to see some of the dramas and movies she has been in (I *really* want to see Battle Royale!) but unfortunately I haven't been able to get my hands on anything XD I haven't heard any of her new singing stuff, either... Is it as good as her first?

Stephen Chow consults for "Shaolin Girl" in Japan
BEIJING, April 8 -- Japan's Fuji TV has invited Hong Kong comedy star Stephen Chow to be a consultant for the new movie "Shaolin Girl" starring Japanese star Kou Shibasaki.
Stephen Chow enjoys wide popularity and a high reputation in Japan, especially for his movies "Shaolin Soccer" and "Kung Fu Hustle."
Oriental Daily reported that the movie is expected to begin shooting in the middle of April and finish in three months in Japan. Hong Kong actors Lam Chi Chung and Kai Man Tin will join the crew in Japan on April 16.
Chinese actress Zhang Yuqi, the latest actress selected by Stephen Chow to star with him in his movies, might not be able to join in this Japanese movie because she is engaged in another movie.
Publicized as a mixture of Hong Kong movie "Shaolin Soccer" and Japanese TV drama "Pride," the movie is about a girl who adopts Shaolin kung fu in playing ice hockey.

Shibasaki splits from Takuya
Thu, January 28, 2010 (5:44am EST)
Actress Kou Shibasaki (28) and UVERworld vocalist TAKUYA∞ (30) have reportedly broken up. Multiple people familiar with the couple say that they drifted apart due to their busy schedules, and they parted ways at the end of last year. Shibasaki and TAKUYA∞ were first revealed as a couple in December 2008. At the start of 2009, they became busier with their careers, leaving them little time to spend together. Shibasaki has been busy with film and television roles, as well as preparing for an upcoming singing tour. Meanwhile, UVERworld went on two tours last year and have another one lined up for this spring. The band is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its formation and the 5th anniversary of their major label debut.
