I am a packrat, and after ten years I have over 5 TB of H!P videos, pictures, and pictures.
No duplicates.
I'm wondering if it's healthy to have so much stuff.
If you had that much stuff, would you keep it all, keep certain things?
If you'd only keep certain things, what would you keep?
After the whole tsuji/kago/miki thing I am not really
much of a MM fan, more of a Goto / rika / golden age fan.
So, any advice?

Yep...don't listen to anyone who tells you that 5TB is too much. ;D

I don't think there's anything wrong with having that much stuff. If you don't think it's wrong, then just keep it. I got rid of a bunch of my H!P stuff just because I didn't care for some things. Now I'm only down to about 100GB, but I haven't gone through everything yet. All I have are pics,(Though I'll probably keep just the ones of my favorite members), PVs, performances, and music. I got rid of all the talking things and interviews I didn't understand and anything I only watched a few times.

I'd keep it, till I realized I didn't even watch that much of it. That said, I deleted almost all of my h!p /o/

Just buy a new HD ;D the 1TB's are around the corner so it will not take up much shelf space anway!

If it's on a hard drive and you don't really care for it, just delete it. but if it's on like dvd-r or cd-r's I'd say keep it or just give it to someone who'd want them. Just throwing those away I think would be a major waste of money.
I haven't really dled much H!P the past few months, but I've kept almost all of it unless it was a duplicate. I occasionally take a trip down memory lane and watch some of my favorite videos.
I once deleted every H!P pic in my collection a few years ago, but then I got back into it and sorta regretted it as I had some pics that I have never seen reposted, I even requested for a certain pic that was never found. Being as it was one of my favorite pics of my favorite member, that kinda sucked.

Yeah, I deleted most of my collection recently. But just for fun I kept a few .ts of my favorite PVs. Plenty of space now, though.. I'll probably use it to dl more music.

I'd keep favorite shows and PVs. I haven't been getting any H!P stuff for the past few months either, and I deleted all my Hello! Morning to make space. The photo books and music I still keep, but my collection isn't that big anyway.

Keep the golden age stuff.
I regret throwing away most of my Asayan episodes.

Keep it if you don't need the space.. nothing wrong with it imo.. I'm @ 77 gig.. concert DVDs, Utaban clips, alo hello dvds.. stuff like that.

If you decide to delete it (or at least a good portion), you might consider uploading a bunch first, for other people who might not have what you have. That way you actually do something with it.

I'm still trying to work out how someone gets 5TB of JUST H!P stuff, is it possible you can go over the stuff in general and tell us what takes up certain amounts of space?
For instance, if you collected H!M for the last 6 years. How much is that all up?
I'd like to see how much space each thing takes up, Live perfs, Music, Radio rips, DVDISO's etc.

Japanese tributes, MAD videos, hidden concert stuff.
Hello morning (all) alone takes up over 500gb. I use alcohol 120% and cd isos for audio,
so that adds up. The bulk is DVD isos, and things like that.
Ayaya stuff alone is around 200GB.
I guess I'm starting to lose the passion, but I will torrent it before I delete it.
The whole scandal thing starting with Yaguchi has sort of killed my interest
past HM and a few videos.

MAD stuff is usually like random edits or home videos. So I'm guessing it's random clips from shows.

^ correct. there's tons of MAD content at nicovideo, though a good bit of it is funny/crazy edits of anime shows, such as remixing haruhi theme with other animes, or doing funny animations, etc.

My H!P Collect (no duplicates) is over 3TB and not counting the H!P stuff that I bought (with duplicates) ~

it's nothing wrong for being a wota ^_^
we are the reason why H!P is still up and running since most of their income are from our money
wota is just a term for people that goes a little bit "overboard" XD

I've never bothered counting how much space my H!P collection is taking (it's in multiple offline external HDDs), but it's probably in the TBs.
If you really can't imagine ever rewatching your stuff ever again, and you want to free up some HDD space or some cash, it would be better to sell the loaded HDDs on ebay or here. That way, the rare stuff in your collection is not lost to the world.

well i forgot to say this, so here it is now.
ASSEMblerEX, you can't sell your 5TB collection!!! Not because I'm telling you to keep your collection or anything, but it's illegal if you do sell it, since some people did mention above and told you to sell it on e-bay or something. But, you can't sell it, because i think, i'm not really sure, that you cannot sell something that you burned. I got this idea from watching some Cantonese Drama on TVB, which it's really true. i think... :?

It most countries it is illegal to sell the things you download 'for profit' (without paying tax that is :) ), its called re-distribution.
In a lot of countries its illegal to download content you know is not legal, but in some you are allowed if its for personal use only.
Selling the disks for second hand prices without adding for the contents (e.g. they where not erased before you send them) is no problem in any country a.f.a.i.k.

Yup keep it the internet might crash one day and the most powerful people will be the ones with the more H!P stuff.

I've lost count the number of DVDs I've burnt, it's at least 500. Might be 1000, not sure (really disorganized) Still roughly 1TB on HDD. I've been looking for a way to do properly organize it myself
