However, I've never so excited since Ai Araba! It's all right! (Because I imagined a song like The Peace..). Now, the 28th single has a disco style and.. I'm over excited haha

Not what I expected, since expected disco, due to an easy formula: Hustle = Disco. But in Tsunku's world.. ¬¬ Nevermind, it's exactly what shirenu said: "It's like that old, silly Momusu that I've been missing". Said in other words, it's a Berryz Koubou song, a group that since their beginning did MM wild songs alike. Koi wa Hassou seems less fast Koko ni Iruze.

I can see why Tsunku chose this song for MM and not Viyuden. It's one of those funny songs he writes occasionally. It's not as bad as I thought first time listening to it but I still don't like it.

From the seriously bad quality, I think I'll like it. It's not bad at all. It is RR21-ish so I'm not all that surprised. I'm happy it wasn't a pure disco song cause I don't really like disco. :P I think it's very MoMusu. Can't wait to hear a better quality version so I can evaluate it better.

It sounds like Miki to me at the very end. If you listen to the one before it, it sounds like Risa doing her "Oh no!" voices, so I figured Miki had to be doing one, too. Besides, Koharu has a stiff feel to her voice, and that part did not, so I put it as her (Just making a point as to why I put her as it)

LMAO well that is not Miki. It's Koharu. The "kowai jan" sounds like Niigaki, but the "CHANSU jan" is Koharu. Miki's voice is always easily distringuished because she has that nasal tone to it, while Koharu's is just... offkey LMAO. Even with a crappy rip, it's pretty obvious. XD

Unless you saw the performance, you can't say sincerely who did what. The one line is just what I think it is. These are all just guesses. I never said that it was 100% Fujimoto. I gave my reason as to why I thought it was her, but it doesn't mean it's truth. XD
Btw, there's a line where I think it's Sayu, and you say it's Reina, and there's a BIG difference there, too, but you didn't see me say anything. :roll:

Chokkan was alright... The only reason it's driving me nuts is because of the "souda souda!" in the background. Beats me why Tsunku didn't choose Dokusenyoku.
I bet this is one of his gambles, seeing how far the fans will go for the girls'. I wonder, though. Since they switched a-side, and PVs are shot around 1-2 months in advance, will they include 2 PVs then?

Up Front must have a LOT of confidence in this song to make this the last Musume single for the year.
However... I dunno, it's not like "Dance Surunoda" (the song that really SHOULD have been a single) or "Tanpopo" (a song that WAS, and good for them for doing so).
Of all the great Musume album tracks since '98, would "Chokan" be in the top five? Top ten? Those are the songs that should become singles and I'm still not convinced that this song qualifies.

The song is more rockish, but pretty much the same song... with different lyrics and a different key. Sayumi sounds REALLY good in it as well as Koharu in the two lines before the song ends that they have. I like the album track better, so far ^^;;

The massive refusal that Koi wa Hassou received in 2ch was determinant for its placement as the c/w. Now UFA hits back pulling out a re-arranged album track. 2ch doesn't seem anger this time. As occidental people, we will often fail to understand Japan behaviour towards music. The new Chokkan, more disco-ish, is exactly what people was expecting. The point is, Chokkan already exists. How much can affect this on sales terms? I don't know. But even if the 90% of the people who owns the album decide not to buy this, Chokkan2 is catchy enough to draw attention of new fans.

well.....Chokkan 2 sounds a little better than the original, but it's still an OK song for me. not fantastic or anything, but just fine; the chorus is definitely the best part of the song since it's really jumpy and energetic.
the "souda! souda!" parts still sound like some kind of Tiki chant :P

no surprise Takahashi, Fujimoto and Tanaka took leading roles again in a new single. Tsunku's really pushing these girls forward, but it's a great move since they're awesome singers/dancers. I just wish he'd give more chances to the other girls; like Ogawa, Niigaki and Kamei. these girls hardly had any leading roles in singles, compared to the rest.
I'm glad he's giving Koharu a lead in this song, actually. although she hasn't fully developed her talent/s yet, she needs a confidence boost to do so, and giving her a lead will most likely help her. letting her just be a "back-up singer" a lot of the time, or always having shared lines is hardly gonna help, and probably won't motivate her to work as best as she can.

I don't think Fujimoto and TAkahashi are leads. The first set of voices are Tanaka, Kamei, Kusumi and Sayu... Fujitaka are in the second set, which most likely won't appear in live shows. They might still be dance leads, but IMO this song is primarily led by the youngsters.

Here's a thought about the outfits that they're shown wearing for the H!M preview and the cover. I assume they were originally supposed to be for the Koi wa Hassou song and now they're just using them for Chokkan 2. Why waste an outfit that's been made is what I'm thinking. From look at what this week's H!M show, it looks like they are using live concert clips as part of the PV.
Maybe I'm interpreting it wrong but that's what they showed.

Instrumental track reminded me of Ranma 1/2 background music when the characters are running, or fighting.. It's very Japan/China together style :lol: I've enjoyed the whole single. Even Koi wa Hassou sounds great (and weird!), even though less catchy than Chokkan. I like the single and I like what they're doing with it. Concerts screenplay in the PV, which is not backgrounded but colourful and lightened, a new air of the last week H!P perf in this week H!M mixing it with the PV, and the posters thing. Good work.

Chokkan 2 is becoming tooaddictive for me, I'm liking it more and more everytime I listen to it :heart: at first I thought it was a pretty good song, it grew on me.
I agree with someone in MM-BBS who mentioned that adding live concert performances of the song into the PV, even though it could be considered slightly "cheap" to do so, is a good idea. it adds more energy and originality, in turn promoting concerts and concert DVD's.

1st is Yuzu (her single is Ainori main theme). 2nd is Shuji to Akira (a collaboration, if I'm not mistaken) that sold last week (their first week) 500.000 copies. And 4th is Mai Kuraki with her new single. Much people expected her to beat MM but.. hehe!

why not? Their clothings in the PV may not look good but the PV will probably be fun to watch.

It's hard to judge whether the PV is good or not just by looking at a few clips. I sort of like the outfits, it fits the 80's theme.... of the song title. :lol:
And I guess it's safe to say that they'll inevitably release the PV in some way.
