Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has changed his country's name, redesigned its flag and rejigged its coat of arms in his drive for a socialist state. Now the leftist reformer, highly popular for redistributing oil income, is seeking to move the country's time zone to offer a more equitable distribution of sunlight.
Venezuela in September will turn clocks back by 30 minutes as it switches time zones to boost the amount of natural light to residents, a government official said on Thursday. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070823/od_uk_nm/oukoe_uk_venezuela_time;_ylt=Aivg9kNyaqXPhLLBBKy3qF_tiBIF)
half an hour ?! that's annoying ..........
-
^ and everybody will complain that there is a bug in Windows(/Vista) because it doesn't show the time correctly :D
BTW I do not like the 1-hour versions either...

Meh, 30 min isn't that big of a change, though if they observe Daylight Savings Time it could get annoying.
-
That is one of the stupidest things this @#%&%$//"!!!@@@@ son of a b**** president has done.

Well I don't think changing time zone is stupid... The whole Europe is changing time two times in a year and in Australia they use those wacky +30min time zones...
But if he is doing it just to help poor children to wake up... That's sounds kinda stupid :D Saving electricity is a different thing.
