Title: HALO 3
Post by: THUNDERDUCK on September 09, 2007, 09:40:33 AM
Halo 3 is coming soon.  Who has preordered it?  I'll have to wait for it when I get back home.  That and Bioshock.  Why do all the good games arrive after I leave?

Keep your eyes open from next Sunday. All the gaming websites will have authority to publish their reviews from then. Guesses anyone? I'd say 8 - 9.5 average.

Only ever played Halo 2. Was enjoyable but I wasn't caught up in it as much as other people. And for people who say it has one of the best stories in any game is well, kinda stretching it a fair bit I'd say. What it is though, is the best mutiplayer shooter for any console, and I imagine that's what's selling it to most.

That and Bioshock.

Bioshock freaked me out for some reason.  But about Halo 3, yeah I plan on buying it but not pre-ordering it. When I saw the first trailer of Halo 3, well the one with the kids talking, that looked so real. I still have so idea if that part was real actors or just CG stuff. And when It go to the Master Chief part.....nice.

I want it!!! but don't have a 360...

Halo 2 was pretty good and that was on the plain XBox.  I definitely want to see how the 360 handles the new graphics.  Story wise Halo 2 was weaker, since it was not all Master Chief action, but the Arbiter was the final battle.  Halo 1 was the reason I got the XBox.  The last battle or the escape was the highlight to that game, just learning to drive the Warthog was necessity.

H3 will have 4 player online-coop, the Forge (for multiplayer), Online Multi-player combat.  Also on sale will be the Halo 3 Edition 360, controllers, earpiece, and Zune.  Damn, I wonder who's getting the Legendary set?

I so want to have this, but alas, its not to be.
Don't have that kind of money to spend on a game, let alone on the 360.

lol, Halo getting praised for the story?

Actually, I felt the story of Halo 2 was much better than Halo 1.  It turned your nameless/lifeless enemies into fleshed out beings with a heated religious and political climate.  The self-discovery made by the Arbiter of what Halo really is and that their religion is a huge mistake, as well as the shifting power from the Elites to the Brutes was leaps and bounds ahead of "getting crashed on a Halo, regroup, figure out whats going on, and stop Halo from assploding."

That said, I liked the single player experience of Halo much better.

A little less than a week to go.  Not much of a multi-player fan, either.

The hype has started. Pretty exceptional, it was on the front-page of my hometown community newspaper. Microsoft is definitely pulling out all the stops to market it.

Hell it's even reported on BBC News. But has anyone else heard about this?

Halo 3 disc problem reports (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=84162)

Must be annoying if you're about to finish the fight, but the disc can't be read

Now thats really messed up.
To think, that so many people waited in line for hours overnight just to get the game, only to have this happen.
Tsk tsk, M$. XD

 they spent too much money on marketing it, they didn't bother trying to make sure the game discs were made correctly.

I so want this game though. T_T

I read most scratched discs were playable.  It was the packaging that made the discs come loose, just like a regular DVD.

Yeah I know, that's why I don't say stuff like that around really hardcore Halo fans.
I'll get cut.  T____T

I think this game was overhyped. M$ had way to much marketing.
The single player wasn't that cool. But all the fans of playing this game online the game should be awesome.
With my friends we saw the end of the story before the game was in stores  :P

Saw ODST at a friend's house. Drop pods is one of my favorite sci-fi things. I wish this game did more with that. They should have done the sequence in high orbit. A drop pod with windows surviving atmospheric re-entry would have really pushed the expectations of reality but it would have been quite a sight.

If you've got a copy of Halo 3 or ODST, you can help Haiti relief efforts by changing your emblem and playing a game online tonight. Bungie will then donate ten cents in your honor adding to a pot that could be up to $77,000. More info here (http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&link=BeAHero).
