A Chinese man dropped dead after playing internet games for three consecutive days, state media said, as China seeks to wean internet addicts offline.
The man from the southern boomtown of Guangzhou, aged around 30, died on Saturday after being rushed to the hospital from the internet cafe, local authorities were quoted by the Beijing News as saying.
"Police have ruled out the possibility of suicide," the newspaper said, adding that exhaustion was the most likely cause of death. It did not say what game he was playing.
China, worried about the spread of pornography and politically incorrect content, has banned the opening of new cybercafes this year and issued orders limiting the time internet users can spend playing online.
In April, President Hu Jintao launched a campaign to rid the internet of "unhealthy" content and make it a platform for Communist Party doctrine.

Yeah, good luck with this one, Jintao, trying to "rid" the internet of "unhealthy" content.
About making the internet a platform for communist BS, whatever man, better for Jintao to just STFU.
As for the guy dropping dead for playing onlie 3 days straight, it's his own fault for getting addicted to online gaming.
He made himself a victim, by making this choice he wasn't ready to deal with the consequences, and he made the final exit over something so extremely trivial.
Common sense seems be a lost art nowadays, and common sense would have helped that guy to moderate his online gaming time.

^ Man no need to be that tough on the guy
But that's sad really, to drop dead because i was surfing the net/gaming for 3 days straight. These people have got to learnt that lives are precious and its a privilege to be born.

Pot calling kettle black. Internet cause much less harm than Communist Party. It is the ultimate censorship. How can one censor internet anymore than in China? May be Iran?
Another one of the campaign to blame others.

"It did not say what game he was playing."
I wonder if it was a social game, like, one that you could talk to other people on.
The chat logs would be interesting o_o
