Nine people were killed at a funeral in central China's Henan Province when 16 people fell into an abandoned indoor pool that was used to store toxic chemicals, Xinhua news agency reported today.
The funeral itself was for a man who himself had apparently inhaled toxic cyanide gas seeping up through the floorboards into the room that contained the old industrial pond. (http://www.shanghaidaily.com/sp/article/2007/200709/20070928/article_332905.htm)

Damn, there's definitely a sense of irony in this, how it all came about in the same way, all those people dieing from the same poisons in the very same house that the other guy had died in the first place.

a man dies from staying in the room and they decide to have a funeral there?

^ I sure hope that the owner of the pool/building is held responsible for this. Why the hell would you have dangerous chemicals so close to a residential building in the first place?

what the hell are they thinking ??

It's China. they never think when it comes to cutting costs.

Pool of cyanide hidden under a wooden floor... That's like a trap from Saw movies or something. Seemed to be quite effective.

Obviously, this kind of shit happens all the time (http://forum.jphip.com/index.php?topic=12687.0).
