Title: Moving a forum
Post by: shadowstar on November 08, 2007, 10:16:13 AM
I plan to start a forum dedicated to Berryz Koubou, and I'll temporarily host it on my current server which expires on April of next year.

When it's about to expire, I'll buy a new server from another place and move the entire forum there. What I just want to know is, is moving an entire forum to a new server a pretty straightforward thing to do? I mean, I know I save the files that are on my server and just move it to the new one (right?), but will the links change automatically and all that?

Sorry if I'm not exactly clear on this  XD

Oh, and on top of that, can anyone recommend me some good places to buy domains/hosting? I know of website source (http://www.websitesource.com/) and DreamHost is my current one.

For the forum, I would just wait it out.  Moving a forum is a big hassle and there will be dead stuff everywhere.

It's hard to find places to buy domain hosting.  I'd suggest http://surpasshosting.com/ however their cheapest plan is $60 a year (200gb space/2000gb bandwidth)

Ah yeah, now I see why it'd be a huge hassle.

Thanks Masabi!
