Santas in Australia's largest city have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional "ho ho ho" greeting because it may be offensive to women, it was reported Thursday. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20071115/wl_asia_afp/lifestyleaustraliachristmasoffbeat)

That's idiotic. Ho has been used for hundreds of years to indicate laughter before it acquired its gangsta rap meaning.
Ho as an interjection: 15th century
Ho as a noun: 1965
Stupid Australians.

Political correctness gone mad! There really is no need for this. Some people have no idea about context.

lol unless the santa was pointing at me and laughing hysterically and perhaps saying other slanderous things while saying it i wouldn't be offended.

i was wondering... when i came to the states as a middle-school kid, the first 'slang' words i learn is that one, so i found that xmas slogan to be xtremely funny even back then ~!
