ORLANDO, Fla. -- A Sanford mother says she will never be able to hold her newborn because an Orlando hospital performed a life-altering surgery and, she claims, the hospital refuses to explain why they left her as a multiple amputee. How in the hell?! Now that's some bad malpractice. And they don't have a legitimate reason to give her? pathetic
-
probably it's a file mix up .... that's why they don't wanna tell her what happened
-
The poor woman (and baby) :(
What a bunch of idiots in that hospital!
-
This is absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable on the hospitals part.
-
thats whack
-
That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. What a tragedy it is for her to not even hold her own son.. IMO, the fact that the hospital haven't given a legitimate reason for the operation immediately implies there's been a cock-up somewhere.

If you had read the article, you would know that they didn't amputate her arms for nothing, but because she had infected by streptococcus bacteria. The amputated woman wants to know how she caught the bacteria. If there were some patients with this bacteria, of course they can't share this information with others.
But it was good if she sued them, maybe they'll get the information they want then.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Read the article people. Tragedy either way though :(

if i'm not mistaken, those kind of spores can only be found in hospitals as they only grow in sterile environment coz in d outdoors, these fungus would lose out in competition with normal fungus. (How do I know this? Blame it on my addiction with House)
But the fungus won't be dangerous infection unless there was an open wound or there's a huge community of them hiding somewhere in the hospital, which is usually a case of poor maintenance. Probably why the hospital won't disclose how she got infected.
BTW, these kind of infection is dangerous ONLY if there is an open wound or direct inhalation. My guess is that the hospital's plumbing or air-conditioning may have caused the infection. :shakeit:
