Two teenage girls who tried to consecrate their newfound friendship by becoming "blood sisters" ended up in the emergency room when, in their drunken state, they miscalculated how deeply to cut themselves, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's report released Wednesday. The Blood Pact are the name of the cultists in the novel I'm reading.

Can't think of much else to add. People do the stupid when they're drunk.
