Sara Jane Moore, who took a shot at President Ford in a bizarre 1975 assassination attempt, was paroled from prison Monday. Moore, 77, had served 32 years of a life sentence when she was released from the federal prison in Dublin, east of San Francisco, the Federal Bureau of Prisons said.
Bureau spokeswoman Felicia Ponce said she had no details on why Moore was released. (http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iikzcZnz7XbMC3MYU72iOzBGsDeAD8TSM9CO0)

I wonder if they'll release Squeaky Fromme who tried to assassinate Ford the same year. Fromme didn't even pull the trigger, she should have been released first.

In addition to having attacked a fellow inmate with a hammer and having escaped from prison for a few days, Fromme keeps waiving her right to a parole hearing.

Ah yeah, I'd not considered her behaviour since.
At Manson's last parole hearing he refused to attend saying he doesn't want parole until Fromme is released. Like Manson's gonna get out any time soon!

She regrets her actions and seems reasonably stable. I think there's space for redemption and forgiveness. Best of luck to her.
It also says something good about America that she's had the opportunity to rehabilitate. In most countries in the world she would have been executed by the army or the secret police.
