The controversial former world chess champion, Bobby Fischer, has died in Iceland at the age of 64. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7195840.stm)

Regardless of what his personal/political views might have been, he was still one hell of a player.

It's sad he died. I'm still not that broken up about it. He spent a large part of his life looking out for number 1 and indulging the darker hateful side of his personality. That makes him a pretty hollow shell compared to Gary Kasparov who is using his money and fame to try and preserve democracy in his home country.

He was pretty awesome when it came to chess.
Too bad he went crazy later.
