Police have arrested a 16-year-old youth after he allegedly went on an extravagant drinking spree at a bar in Niiza, Saitama Prefecture, that he was unable to pay for, police said Saturday.
The suspect, whose name is being withheld because he is a minor, was held on suspicion of fraud after the staff found him unable to pay about ¥370,000 for two bottles of expensive Don Perignon champagne and 60 glasses of whiskey and cocktails. He also sang karaoke and asked for four to five hostesses to attend to him.
The staff said they didn't think he was a minor because he looked like an adult, according to the police.
The legal drinking age in Japan is 20. The boy initially told investigators that he was 22, the police said. (http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nn20080120a4.html)
High fives the kid in question!! :pimp:
Incase anyone is wondering, this would've been in a Snack Bar a.k.a. Hostess Bar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hostess_bar), where the hostesses usually insists on drinking the most expensive thing on the drink menu, which the client needs to pay for in the end...
