Hancock is an upcoming comedy superhero film directed by Peter Berg and starring Will Smith, Jason Bateman and Charlize Theron. The story was originally written by Vincent Ngo in 1996 and had languished in Hollywood for some time. The project has had various directors attached, including Tony Scott, Michael Mann, Jonathan Mostow, and Gabriele Muccino. Hancock was originally intended to be filmed before I Am Legend, also starring Will Smith. Under Berg, Hancock was filmed in Los Angeles. The film is slated for release on July 2, 2008.
Will Smith portrays an alcoholic superhero despised by everyone. A publicist (Jason Bateman) helps rehabilitate him, and the superhero eventually begins an affair with the publicist's wife (Charlize Theron).

Charlize Theron
Watch! Sigh but she's not in the preview...
Looks like a M.I.B. style movie.

   funny preview, cant wait to watch it

Ahaha!
This is definitely on my "to watch list" for this summer. It looks really good and pretty funny as well. And hey, that guy from Roseanne is in it!

saw it yesterday.
Wasn't too bad. More of a drama than a superhero comedy. I saw the twist coming, so i wasn't surprised.
Charlize Theron was hott in this movie. I didn't even recognize her at first.
-
it had some funny moments, and the special effects were astounding... the 2nd half of it though, it got kinda slow for me, especially the
hospital part
.
-
just got back from seeing. I liked it, I don't think its as bad as the critics are making it out to be, but the twist and second half of the movie felt a little 'eh'. started to drag towards the end. Will Smith of course was awesome, and I have to say the score was pretty fantastic o_o

Needed more sarcastic shit from Will Smith(I thought he should have been an asshole a bit longer), but his performance was easily the best thing in the movie. The second half was weird and I did not see it coming. Still quite enjoyable, though.

Charlize Theron was hott in this movie.
:cow: Even when watching a CAM version :)
I didn't even recognize her at first.
Eventhough I didn't know she was in, I did the second the walked in the scene :) Bad mama Theron :cow:
Now when is the DVD-release?? I would even spring money for a HD release because of Charlize...

Just came back from watching. I really dig it. I too didn't recognize Charlize, BUTT NAKED PLEASE! Pretty funny shit, I expected Hancock to launch himself on the toilet when he was in Emery's house like his name was Dave Chappelle demonstrating slow mo.

I liked the kitchen scene SPOILERS towards the end when they were sister/husband/wife whatever. Really felt for how Hancock was trying to change himself, do good but no one would accept him. THEN BAM. The whole Charlize twist. The hospital scene was pretty gripping, fucker one hand guy got his comeuppance!

^ " Make yer own damn sammich willer'! "

Those pizza-face ushers were full out on patrol! Hiding behind Step-Brother and Madagascar 2 billboards.
I wonder if there will be a Handcock 2. Like get Charlize in some tight outfit :jerk:

Saw it last night. It was better than I expected it to be.
Second half, I was like wtf is going on.
They should've explained more about what happened to the other superhero pairs, etc...but I guess that's going to come up in Hancock 2.
Woot. Charlize Theron. I didn't even know that she was in the movie. They should've played her out more in the previews.

I loved this too! by the way, I dunno if this happened elsewhere, but in my city they changed what's reflected on hancock's sunglasses to a landmark in my city XD look here:

I agree with some people that it could have been executed a little better, especially in certain parts, but overall I really enjoyed it! Lots of hilarious moments too, like the awkward "....GOOD...JOB!"
My advice, don't take what the critics say to heart (seriously, don't ever in general, even with other movies) and go see it and judge yourself. I'm actually hoping for a Hancock 2 as well, where they'll hopefully give more background on the characters.

i think my favorite line was...
'I can smell alcohol on your breath!'
'That's cus I've been drinking, bitch!'
