Discuss anything. TV Dramas. Movies. Which celebs that make you vomit. O0

Last HK TV show I watfched was "War of the Genders" - love that chemistry between Dodo Cheng Yu Ling and Dayo Wong Chi Wah. Think "Moonlighting" meets law office - with FUCKIN CATCHPHRASES GALORE! YAU YU HOH!

Jesus, you can watch the whole thing on youtube:

Love that scene where Miss Mo trashes his porn collection

OH LMAO. Dayo Wong is like the 2nd funniest guy in Hong Kong. First of course is Stephen Chow.

Quote from: Yesasia
The stars align for Edmond Pang's latest feature Trivial Matters, an entertaining anthology based on the director's own short stories. Delving frankly and wittily into sexuality, relationships, urban life, and utter randomness, this star-studded feature boasts a whole collection of singer-turned-actors including Eason Chan (Brothers), Shawn Yue (Invisible Target), Edison Chen (Dog Bite Dog), Gillian Chung (Beyond Our Ken), Stephy Tang (Love Is Not All Around), Stephanie Cheng (Hooked On You), Kenny Kwan (A Chinese Tall Story), and Juno Mak. Character actors Chapman To (Infernal Affairs), Patrick Tam (Beast Cops), Chan Fai Hung (Single Blog), Crystal Tin (Golden Chicken), Jan Lamb (Love is Not a Game, But a Joke), and Conroy Chan (Rob-B-Hood) also join the packed cast. Pang certainly makes the most of all the names he's attracted to his cause, making sure to offer some fan service (Gillian and Stephy together in schoolgirl uniforms!) and bizarre cameos (acclaimed director Feng Xiaogang and Isabella score composer Peter Kam chewing scenery) along the way.

Trivial Matters consists of seven breezy, revealing stories that are at once very Edmond Pang and very Hong Kong. A married couple (Crystal Tin, Chan Fai Hung) in therapy reveal how clueless they are about their partner's sexual needs. An actor (Chapman To) helps a prostitute recharge her phone. A rookie assassin (Shawn Yue) takes a hit with his hit at a bowling alley. A young man (Edison Chen) discusses toilet etiquette at a noisy dance club. Two high school friends (Gillian Chung, Stephy Tang) end up on starkly different paths in life after becoming young mothers. An instructional video from space recounts a nostalgic high school love story. A man (Eason Chan) comes up with the perfect strategy to solicit oral service from his conservative girlfriend. Candid, offbeat, and just a bit racy, Trivial Matters tweaks identifiable situations and encounters into humor, irony, and sudden moments of reflection.

All About Women, a comedy on modern metropolitan life that is being done from an unforeseeable perspective, is set against the backdrop of the rapidly developing city of Beijing. It takes a look at three women of different professions and backgrounds, and presents a contemporary comedy from the way they deal with love. In this chic comedy, Zhou Xun transforms from gentle to captivating, playing 12 roles in the movie including a doctor, a patient, a reporter, and more; Kwai Lun-mei transforms from innocent to rock-and-roll; while Kitty Zhang goes from girl-next-door to rich coquette.

Anyone heard of this? If it's any good or not? It's written by Kwak Jae-yong, the person who made windstruck, my sassy girl, and cyborg she, which were movies i really enjoyed.

Sarkissian on 'Mad' mission

Producer to remake two Johnnie To films

"Rush Hour" producer Arthur Sarkissian has acquired rights to remake "The Mad Detective" and "The Mission," two crime thrillers directed by Hong Kong helmer Johnnie To.

Sarkissian described To's 2007 film as a psychological thriller about a police detective who uses his ability to see the inner personalities of suspects to solve crimes. To's 1999 film "The Mission" is the story of a mob boss who survives an assassination attempt and hires five bodyguards to protect him. The bonds of the guards are tested when the boss orders them to kill one of their own after he's suspected of bedding the boss's wife.

"These are two of his best films, and if Johnnie wants to remake his own movies on an international level, that would be great," said Sarkissian. He intends to hire writers quickly and self-finance development. Deal comes as To prepares to direct "The Red Circle," a remake of the Jean-Pierre Melville-directed 1970 film "Le Cercle Rouge."

Yesterday Francis said that he was not very clear of what happened to describe the incident, he is just trying this best to protect his family.

After preliminary inquiries at the Kowloon Police Station, Francis was released from the station at 1:40am, leaving in a friend's car. He was surrounded by the Media taking pictures and asking questions, Francis remained relaxed. It was reported that Francis's wife Fiona Wong was attacked by a male in the store. She was sent to the hospital for treatment last night and was later accompanied by Francis's manager in discharging from the hospital.

Francis said: "Initially I did not know what happened, it was only after when my wife told me what happened inside the store that I knew. The lawyer told me that if I encounter this type of case, the correct thing to do is first let the person leave before calling the police. But, now the incident has already happened, will let Police clearly investigate the case. I also don't know what's going on, I just want this to end as soon as possible." Towards the new years starting out with lawsuits, Francis helplessly expressed: "The incident just came to me, how can I handle it? I am just trying my best to protect my family."

It was reported that during the time Francis's wife had a quarrel with another person in the store, she fell down. He expressed that his wife is currently at home resting, has a slight fever, having knee problems and was frightened by the incident.

THE INCIDENT

The other night at 7pm, Francis, his wife and son were in a bakery in Kowloon City where his wife went into the store to do shopping. She was unhappy with the female employee sweeping dust into the air, and she got into an argument with another male employee. Francis got out of his car and went into the store to allegedly see that someone was holding a fork to the neck and soon the man claimed that he was injured.

Hong Kong media announced that a quake benefit event, the "Artistes 414 Fund Raising Campaign", will be held next Monday, April 26, CFP reports.

A press conference was held in Hong Kong on Wednesday. Actor Eric Tsang and director Gordon Chan were in attendance, along with over 50 local pop stars, including Miriam Yeung, Shawn Yue, Lisa Wung, William So and Paw Hee-Ching.

Before the conference, all attendees observed a minute's silence for those lost in the Yushu earthquake. Eric Tsang then told reporters the details of this event. The event's theme song would be recorded later Wednesday. Besides the stars appearing at the conference, a number of other pop singers - such as Eason Chan, Hacken Lee, Kay Tse and Hins Cheung - would join the recording session.

Jackie Chan was not able to attend the conference due to his current Shanghai World Expo commitments, but he did express a wish to join in the campaign next Monday.

Stars from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan will all participate in the event. Eric Tsang added that the public can also get involved by donating 100 HK dollars (US$13).

Yushu in northwestern China's Qinghai Province suffered a 7.1-magnitude earthquake on April 14, 2010. The death toll has climbed to 2,183 as of Wednesday, according to rescue headquarters.

"Artistes 414 Fund Raising Campaign" - Jacky Cheung angered: It's not about the amount donated

Local Hong Kong artists got together for the Qinghai Earthquake Fund Raising Campaign. In the short period, over 300 artists were able to gather together and participate in a charity performance. "Music God" Jacky Cheung revealed his righteousness at the interview, he urged everyone not to look at how much is donated and compare how much each artist donated.

The "Artistes 414 Fund Raising Campaign" was held in Hong Kong Coliseum last night. All of the Hong Kong local media participated in reporting the news live. Artistes who participated includes: Jackie Chan, Jacky Cheung, Leon Lai, Eric Tsang, Shirley Kwan, Paula Tsui, Vivian Chow, Twins, Joey Yung, Hacken Lee, Nick Cheung and 320 other artistes from the entertainment circle. Just the concert opening reached HK$7 million worth of donations. By the end of the charity concert, it was announced that the total number of donations was HK$35,068,918. Yesterday Jackie Chan also brought 15 tons of materials to visit the local disaster areas. He also personally contacted Hollywood stars like Will Smith and Kenny G to record a clip to encourage donations, the clips were broadcast at the concert. Jackie reveals that he plans to team up with Lionel Richie in opening another charity concert in Mainland. Audience who attended the concert also contributed by donating HK$100 each for admissions. However, only 2,000 audience lined up at the entrance.

Many people from the industry contributed in donations and strength, such as Sir Run Run who donated HK$10 million, Twins represented EEG to give a HK$1 million check to show their support. Liza Wang represented a charitable foundation and donated HK$50,000. Mainland artists such as Sun Nan donated 30,000 yuan. Jacky Cheung couldn't hold in his frustration: "It does not matter what the numbers are!" Hacken agreed and added: "Comparing the numbers is really unfair to artists. Would you go out on the streets and ask how much people donated? The most important factor in donations is the inner heart."

Female artists angered feeling violated over secret videotaping using infrared camera

Yesterday morning, a 2 hour and 7 minutes video clip circulated online with 15 clips of the 2008 Beijing Olympics female drivers practicing. Someone used an infrared camera to secretly videotape the divers practicing for the Beijing Olympics that results in seeing through to their body's private areas. Each of the 15 clips is 10 minutes long. Because the incident involves more than 10 countries with 20 Olympians, the incident is getting bigger and bigger. Chinese Olympic Diving Queen Guo Jingjing and her partner are among the victims of the incident.

From the angle of the video, the person who captured the video may be from the audience. The lens could be zoomed in, but it is believed that the person videotaping is of close distance to the divers. Actually, the clip circulated on the internet last year, but was quickly removed. Now, the clip is back online, the situation is really making people worry and females are feeling unsecured. Many female stars feel that their personal privacy is violated and ask for strict punishments to the camera man. It was suggested that those who wear thin clothing should put protection on the chest area.

Yesterday Rainie Yang and Elanne Kong was asked about the secret photographing using an infrared camera, they felt that it's psychotic, Elanne said: "Very psychotic! In the future when I wear thin clothing, I will have to put protection on my chest area." Rainie said: "I believe not only female stars are afraid of getting photographed, even males are afraid. Females should really be protected, don't use technology to do these things."

Christine Ng and Sharon Chan both expressed that we must crackdown on the person who did this. They both said: "Very angry! Females' privacy should not be violated like that. The authorities should really crackdown on that person who did the videotaping!" Asked if they will be more careful with what they wear when attending public events in the future? Christine said: "This is not related to dressing sexily, even if wearing clothing made of down won't help. Females should be more careful, when a strange person is seen, need to first cover their eyes."

Aimee Chan: "Not only artists, even citizens should not be photographed by infrared cameras. This really violates privacy and is a criminal offense. That person should suffer legal consequences."

Vivian Chow's 25th Anniversary Concert in HK Coliseum March 2011

The day before, Vivian Chow denied through her husband that she's not pregnant at an older age. In fact, she does have a "happy event" to announce, but this "happy event" is just that she's busy with work. It was said that she'll be holding a 25th Anniversary concert in Hong Kong Coliseum at the end of March 2011. Since her 2006 BACK FOR LOVE CONCERT, she steps back into HK Coliseum after 5 years and is currently set to have 3 shows. Next month, a press conference will be held to formally announce the good news.

In the film scene, Vivian, Sandra Ng and William Chan's new film All About Love has been greatly acclaimed, attracting many film production companies wanting to work with Vivian. Earlier, she received a pile of scripts, including tragic and comedy films. One of them was tailored for her too. But, because Vivian is a perfectionist nad does not want to be distracted by two jobs, she's having a headache on which one to decide.

Because Hong Kong lacks a fair and justice TV awards ceremony, the HK Television Association finally received subsidies from the government to hold an "Asia Emmy Awards" called the Asian TV Awards, scheduled for March 2011. The awards ceremony invites local outstanding artists from series and non-serial programs to participate. It was said that Barbie Hsu from Taiwanese drama Summer's Desire, Charmaine Sheh and Moses Chan from TVB's Can't Buy Me Love, Rain (Bi) from Korean drama The Fugitive Plan B and Takuya Kimura from Japanese drama Moon Lovers are invited to compete for TV King and Queen awards.

It's been confirmed that Hong Kong artists will hold a three-hour charity concert titled "311 Love beyond Borders" to raise funds for victims of Japan's massive earthquake and tsunami.

Veteran actor and variety show host Eric Tsang announced the concert date. "We have decided to hold a candlelight vigil on April 1 for the victims in Japan to express our voice and show support from Hong Kong residents and artists. Wish they will be fine."

As always, kung-fu superstar Jackie Chan will be heading the charity fundraiser. He said he had to do something to help.

"Mother nature is really powerful. I'm worried about the people in Japan. Tsunami hit after the earthquake, and now we know the nuclear crisis. Again, again and again, disasters struck. I called my office in Japan and they said they were fine but there were no biscuits or bottled waters in the supermarkets. They had nothing to eat."

Chan revealed that the theme song for the concert is called "Succumb Not to Sorrow". It is based on an inspirational Japanese poem, and it will be performed in both Chinese and Japanese.

The message of the song is clear and simple. "You will not be alone. We will all be by your side."

It does not matter what station we appear on, it's for charity!"

The song is called Succumb Not To Sorrow performed by many singers including: Sammi Cheng, Andy Hui, Jade Kwan, Juno Mak, Shirley Kwa, Elanne Kong, Myolie Wu, Bosco Wong, Michael Tse, Virgina Lok, Benette Pang, Hacken Lee, Angelababy, G.E.M, Mr, Theresa Fu, Joyce Cheng and Jonathan Wong. Besides HK artists, international artists such as Wonder Girls and Rain's mentor made a special trip to HK to participate in this special event. However, Mainland artists were no where to be seen. Eric Tsang was asked if it's because of the Chinese-Japanese relations? He said: "We contacted Mainland artists earlier, and they responded saying they may hold their own charity event, so we did not invite them. This time, the Hong Kong's disaster relief is aimed towards artists from all over the Asian region."

Although Joey Yung is busy recording her new songs, she still took time off to attend the event and sang Joy of the North in both Japanese and Mandarin. Joey said: "I was in the middle of recording songs, but because I wasn't able to go record for the theme song earlier, I told myself that I must attend the candlenight to support Japan. (Cried after watching the disaster clips?) My emotions came out at the time it happened, things in this world is unpredictable, we should spend each day happily. We should all help the victims to reconstruct their homeland and deal with the aftermath. We have to let the Japanese know that the whole world is supporting them."

Hong Kong's best-known pop stars on Friday evening, April 1, 2011 staged a 3-hour charity concert to raise funds for Japanese people who suffered from the devastating earthquake and tsunami on March 11.

Held in the city's landmark Victoria Park, the charity gala "Artists 311 Love beyond Borders" was initiated by famous artists including Jackie Chan, Andy Lau and Eric Tsang.

The event's theme song "Succumb Not to Sorrow" praises the tenacity of the Japanese people in face of hardship, borrowing its lyrics from the work by Miyazawa Kenji, a renowned Japanese poet and author of children literature during the Meiji period.

Jackie Chan said love and empathy had no borders. "We, as members of the entertainment industry, wish to bring hope and support to the people of Japan," he said.

Sitting on the floor of the park and holding candle lights, many participants donated money for Japan's earthquake victims.

The 3-hour charity gala raised a total of around 18 million HK dollars (US$2.31 million).

All proceeds, except necessary expenses, will be donated to the Salvation Army - the international charity organization currently involved in disaster relief efforts in Japan.

The organization aims to raise funds for 50,000 to 75,000 "Relief Packs" for around 50,000 to 80,000 people in Japan's quake zone.

I was watching this TV Series called Chinese Paladin 3 a while ago. I think it was really cool. It is based on a Chinese game with the same name (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_Paladin_3), and therefore the fighting scenes are very anime/game like. It is definitely worth trying out, and you can find a YouTube playlist with the series here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0049FD1D7FFC7C9C (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0049FD1D7FFC7C9C) :3

^ looks like fun! I remember you mentioning you were digging the series but a game tie in GENIUS!

LMFAO only in Hong Kong can you get news like this:

[Sina Entertainment]港媒曝刘定成非礼男星名单 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rO1_pzga8X8#)

Quote
The big news this week is Lau Ding-sing’s (劉定成) private photo collection. The Apple Daily reported that the wealthy Hong Kong businessman claims to have 100,000 photos of partially dressed and fully nude male celebrities, including singer William Chan (陳偉霆), actor and director Daniel Wu (吳彥祖) and actor, singer and model Stephen Fung (馮德倫).

Needless to say, the three celebs have all denied posing for the 62-year-old Lau.

The cache, which Lau has been bragging about to any news outlet that will listen to him, also includes body builders, sports stars and pretty much anyone else who would disrobe in front of him for cash.

But the lusty Lau might soon have the grin wiped off his face. Amidst much soul-searching in Hong Kong’s entertainment industry, where nascent actors are said to be lured into compromising positions to boost their careers, three unnamed actors and a fitness instructor have accused Lau of indecent assault. The case is ongoing.

Famed Hong Kong caricaturist Joseph Wong Chak is calling young and talented artists to help him continue his comedic legacy, as he celebrates the 50th anniversary of his well-loved Old Master Q series.
Wong, who left his handprint yesterday for the soon-to-be-opened Avenue of Comic Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui, said the series was an indelible part of local history.

" Old Master Q is like the collective memory of Hong Kong," said Wong, now based in Taiwan. "We welcome all young comic artists, who love cheering others up by drawing comics, to join our team."

1966 - Ko Lo Chuen as Master Q and Ai Dung-Gwa as Da Fanshu/Big Potato

Created in 1962 by Wong's father, Alfonso Wong Kar-hei, the ongoing adventures of lead character Old Master Q and his sidekick Big Potato have turned into the most enduring Chinese comic series owing to their funny misadventures and jokes.

The comic book series, which has entertained generations of avid readers, is currently produced by a team of four cartoonists, the youngest of whom is 21.

Adding to his call for new talent, Joseph Wong joked: "Do we not have enough lawyers, politicians and other professionals? Why not become a cartoonist to create more fun and happiness for others?"

As part of the anniversary, an exhibition featuring more than 100 frames of Wong's original comic strip will be held at Galerie Huit in Wan Chai from Saturday until the end of next month.

Wong's contribution to comic art history will also be recognised at the Avenue of Comic Stars, set to open in August.

Built by the Hong Kong Comics and Animation Federation to honour the local industry, the avenue at Kowloon Park will feature big painted statues of famous characters. Six of them, including Old Master Q, will be three metres tall. There will also be bronze handprints of 10 distinguished comic artists.

"In the past, all bird drawings in a visual art class were the same. If you stood out from the crowd, you were doomed to fail," Wong said.

"But now everyone can have their own kind of bird. Creativity can be borderless." (SCMP (http://www.scmp.com/portal/site/SCMP/menuitem.2c913216495213d5df646910cba0a0a0/?vgnextoid=01178c592e908310VgnVCM100000360a0a0aRCRD&vgnextfmt=teaser&ss=hong+kong&s=news))
