I got water stain, finger prints and smudges on my lcd screen. how do i clean it without dmging it?
-
I dunno about an LCD but for my CRT monitor I use antistatic wipes. They've got some chemical in that smells funny but after use it evaporates quickly and your screen is nice and clean.
-
^ Thats called 'Isopropyl alcohol' is a liquid that evaporates very quickly and hence is good for cleaning surfaces like this. But CRT's had a hard surface, diffrent from most LCD's.
^^ Check the manual for cleaning instructions, some LCD screens use a special coating that might get removed by certain liquids.
I sometimes use simply a softcloth and some water to try the initial cleaning.
If the LCD has no glass protecting it, then do not press to hard!

so if i kinda wet a microfiber cloth, will it work?
-
^ yes, the wetness should do the inital resolve, the microfiber the cleaning
Just be gentle at first, if you see the LCD slightly wrap where you press its not a problem, just do not press to hard.
If water fails you will need to read up on what is allowed for your screen, alcohol can remove coating (its used in sticker removing liquid also)
