It's Ai's 17th single (19th including the Love ones). What do you think of the previews?
The songs complement each other nicely. I bet we can expect another wacky PV for this one.
It's nothing surprising really, typical Ai stuff. I like both songs.. but I'm completely biased
-
Rocket Sneaker is a very catchy Song XD
And OnexTime... nya~..no comment XD
-
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the outfit on the cover. I gotta get something like that.
-
Thanks for sharing the covers and the previews! Love the sound of both songs, Ai-chin is theee shitz!

I love her first two albums, her 3rd was still so-so, but I hated LOVE PIECE and all the singles that came with it.
I'm happy she finally puts out something that catches my attention (in a good way) again.
I prefer oneXtime over Rocket Sneaker though ^^

I've heard from a couple people who liked her first two albums a lot but not so much Love Cook not sure why though, it's actually my favorite album of hers. Besides two tracks (Haneari Tamago and Birthday Song) I can get into all the other songs on the album. But yeah Love Piece was disappointing to me as well, I can't say I've listened to the whole album but I tried getting into it and skimmed through each track but couldn't. Haven't gave it much of a listen after that but I already knew and loved the last three songs/singles, Chu-Lip, Heart, and Renai Shashin.
I loved her last single Pocket and Love Circle, I think Love Circle should have been a lead single on it's own but oh well.
-
I wasn't really into pocket. One of her lesser ballads imo.
My fav album is still Love Jam. Closely followed by Love Cook and Love Punch. I love 'em all

cook > jam > punch >>>>>>>>>>>> piece
IMHO of course :P
I don't get the hate for Love Cook either, it's her most consistent album I think.
As for Rocket Sneaker, from the title I expected a really hyper-sounding rock song. It's not bad, but not really what I was hoping for.

True. I was also expecting another PonPon or Happy Days, but we got a song similar too Frienger, but less catchy.
The PV is what I expected.. it's weird

To be honest I've gone of Ai a fair bit since Love Piece, I still like the majority of stuff from the other three albums but recently things have just been too samey. I'm sure that'sa good thign for some people but I really would like a bit more variation in her music, this is jsut like Frienger Part 2...or more accurately part 15 or something like that. Can still listen to the other albums and Cook is probly my fave but I still haven't managed to make ti all the way through Piecewithout getting bored halfway through. The new single follows the same trend really, at least if Ai's gonna keep making similar styled songs she should try something a bit different with one fo the singles as it seems the PV's are all that's saving me from really hating the newer stuff.
-
^yeah I kinda agree. However, I do love Ai's style.
I rather have her doing what she's doing now (i.e. making more of the same) than for instance making that jazz style album that was rumoured some time ago. They did some jazz style songs on the Ai am Best tour, and while they were not bad at all.. I really hate jazz. Or a remix album, that would suck too haha.
Another thing, Morning Musume could never be my favorite band, because they are too versatile. They go from happy, to r 'n b, from dance to rock. Just stick to what you're best at :P
I do agree though, Ai could use some more originality within the genres she's good at.
I'd like to see Ai having more complex piano parts (classical style) for the ballads.

well in that logic, they should quit music all together >_>
I'm actually one of the people that don't really like her crazy poppy stuff, I've always been more of a fan of her more mellow songs, and this is right around my corner. Though I swear YUKI did that PV already >_>

Truth be told, I've only played Love Piece once, and that was more than enough for me :bleeding ears:
(glad I saw her in concert before she turned crap!! :P )

Glad to see other people have a similar view to me (well not glad...not goot to see Ai going to pot but you know what I mean). On a couple of other J-Music sites where I've said a similar thing they treat me like I'm crazy and won't have a word said against her.

I guess we just have different tastes there in the fact that the variation is one of the reasons I love them so much. I do have to agree though and say a radical change for Ai would be a bit weird as she does have a very distinct style. Though that may have only come about because she sticks to it so rigidly...I guess I'm not really sure what I would like her to do next, just that I know I'm not exactly overwhelmed by her current stuff.

same here
I think I haven't even listened to the whole LOVE PIECE album, though my ears didn't bleed, I rather fell off my chair from boredom xD
What got me into her music in the first place was her diversety (sp?)
Ballads, stupid-fun songs, happy-cute songs, simple pop tunes, it was all there in one neat package, but since Love Cook her songs started to sound more and more the same, there was nothing that stood out to me anymore.
If there really was a rumored jazz album I wish she would do it, just to see her do something different again, regardless how it turns out.
I'm not a jazz fan, but you never know it could turn out great.
I like the PV for Rocket Sneaker, but the song still sounds dull to me, that "something" that makes it stick in your ear is missing.
-
Rocket Sneaker has a nice piano bit but otherwise, it's boring to me. It's depressing that she's gotten to this point with me, everything she does seems to copy off something she's done before (melody wise, not just style) or is just plain non-descript.
Also, YUKI HAS done the same PV before lol, it's the same director, along with now BoA's Kissing you.

Thanks for the single, even though I never heard the song yet
