It's very clear that it wasn't a sexual striptease, but that he was just joking around. As it says in the article, the kids were all goofing off and so, to get their attention, he joked that he would subject them all to his man-boobs if they didn't straighten up. All the kids were laughing and thought it was really funny when he followed through. It's no different than anything those kids could see on TV or walking down the street any day, as guys go around without shirts on all the time (and he only took his shirt off), so it's not like it scarred them for life.

So, given all that, while he should have known that some people would not appreciate his idea of a joke and method of getting the class to behave, the punishment seems extremely harsh. I agree that something should have been done, but banning him from teaching in the entire area of 300+ schools? That's a bit much. A tongue-lashing and required verbal apology would have sufficed.

^ Yeh it is a bit harsh I agree. I bet for some parents though, an apology and perhaps a suspension wouldn't be enough.

well I think it all depends on if he was a decent teacher or not. If he was a shitty teacher, and did that, good riddance. :lol: But yeah, if he was doing a pretty good job until now, that is really harsh, especially since I doubt he'd have to do it again :P

Totally overreacting to fire him. And even banning him teaching in the whole county.

When I was in elementary school we actually had a male stripper performing for all of us pupils in our school :D The whole school was going to watch "Hungarian art performance", which turned out to be a Hungarian guy stripping his clothes off. For some reason no one of the teachers stopped him until he only got briefs left. Anyway, for us students it was hilarious.

I don't remember if the school managed to keep it secret, but there was no consequences for the school or the teachers at least. Don't know if they paid the stripper though :D
