Some of us have found their favourite H!P/Morning Musume members instantly, for some it has taken time to find their favourite members. What is your story with your favourite member(s)?
Feel free to include as many favourites as you'd like and even come back to write about more favourites, if you feel like it (or are bored enough). :D

My favourite H!P member is Nacchi. Unfortunately my Nacchi fan story is quite boring. I can remember that she didn't really catch my attention at first and I have no idea what made me notice her. I guess at first she was just some cute girl to me, and after that I fell for her personality and charm. But yeah, quite a boring story.
I think I actually even disliked Maki, my second favourite member, at first because the first thing I read about her was that she was quite probably the most popular Momusu member ever, and since I was always one of the unpopular kids who loath popular people... I didn't like her for a very stupid reason. :oops: But oh well, I saw more Hello!Mornings and such and her cool personality actually made me interested in her. I started to understand why so many people find her gorgeous, and when Prism came out (I'm quite a new fan btw) I fell for her for good. God, those were the first bikini pictures I've ever cared about. Thanks for turning me into a perv, Ms. Goto. Anyway, ever since I've also started to love her voice and everything about her.

i guess it was during koi no dance site i actually noticed MM.. before that the 1st time i saw them was when they performed love machine on koukahku'99
somehow Koi no DS track was catchy... & the pple who caught my eye after a while was maki.. but then i was still into MAX..

until when MAX went missing somewhere in 2001.. then i started catching up on MM.. by then they had added the 4th gen, & pucchimoni with seishun jidai 1,2,3 was the one which attracted me back to MM.. lol... it was yoshizawa & maki (who is my default fav back then)

then i started collecting MM clips.. my fren was a MM fan.. so i got lucky & had quite abit of their old clips.... when i got cable.. it was aroun "da peace".. then aroun end 2001 (?) i begun collecting all old & new clips... so it was when yuko starting hosting Hellomoni i started to 4 in luv wif her.. lol...
damn.... and those old clips where she got pissed & yelled at pple... tt was so entertaining.. + somehow during the 1999-2001 time she reminded me of a butch.. :sweatdrop:

... Hmm, must've been when I first got "addicted" to MoMusu. I was watching a random PV I just downloaded, "Koko ni Iruzee" or "Souda! We're Alive" can't really remember... Let's say both. :wink: Well, I watched through the PVs once... And then decided to watch them again, but this time focusing on the one who appealed to me the most - Takahashi! "What a cutie!". That smile of her's can cause natural disasters... Even the glaciers would melt! Yeah, and then it just flowed I guess.... I officially became an Ai-chan fanboy after Sakuragumi's debut with Hare Ame Nochi Suki. <3
Lately.... Eri has been the one making me all hot inside, too. :shock: I'm guessing I'm not the only one.... *goes to watch MM Documents*

Haha, I didn't think I'd get bored so soon, but here I am again...
Miki. I think I've always liked Miki. When I heard her solo album she became one of my favourites instantly. And now she's already in top 3. :D
Risa... I didn't like her at first because I thought her smile was creepy, kind of like those singing kids in the Suicide Club. However, I liked her performance in the first Momusu concert I saw and decided to like her, but too bad I somehow forgot about her for quite some time after that. When she cut her bangs I remembered her existance (the bangs thread I read at JPM was the first thread I read there, haha) and realized she would be great for my favourite member: not too perfect so that there would be room for improving and not too popular so I wouldn't feel like "just another Takahashi fan" or something. Besides, I've adored her voice since the first time I heard her sing. So yeah. It's just too bad I'm a horny young woman, so Miki is now my favourite Momusu member. I don't think I'll ever look at Risa "that way", she's more like a little sister type of idol.
...I've still got plenty left lalala :P

mine? is gocchin, (im a lazy person, so i dun really like to type that much) my bro dled some random pv (RR21) of MM on some Gocchin site, and he told me that, that girl is very cute, so check it out, so i turn it on, right at the moment Gocchin got my eyes as i turn it on, i was like that girl is hot! but i wasnt that into her, i dun remember wat happen, i started to dig her and could never turn back, so now im deeply in luv w/her hahahahaha but since gocchin was in mm b4, i watched a lot of mm clips and i fell in luv with Rika the same way im in luv w/Gocchin now hehehehe :lol:

Rika made me a Hello! Project fan. And it really was love at first sight. Back in 2001 or 2002 somebody sent me an mp3 of Max's Ride On Time. I thought it was a funny and cute song so i decided to do some research. I ended up downloading a bunch of jpop PVs: Max, Hamasaki and even couple of H!P videos. Unfortunately the only Morning Musume video i got was a live perf of Happy Summer Wedding. I hated it then and i still can't stand it. When i saw the perf i was like "what is this annoying lil girl choir?" and ignored them. It actually made me hate Morning Musume because i thought that all their songs were annoying and that they really were a bunch of little girls. Boy, was i wrong. Anyway i did enjoy some of the PVs and later found out about JPM. At first i tried to avoid all Morning Musume threads but for some odd reason i downloaded a bunch of legendary Ayaka's English Lessons. I fell in love with Rika instantly. She was the prettiest and cutest girl i had ever seen and it was so funny to see her trying to memorize the phrase Ayaka gave her.
And when she got it right i was all :) :love:
After that i totally ignored everything else and started checking out all Morning Musume related threads at JPM. I also went thru the videos i had downloaded earlier and realized that i already had two PVs with Rika: Country Musume's Sexy Baby and 3nin Matsuri. And i have never been the same again. Rika is still my fav member and without her this forum wouldn't even exist :)
(however i also blame Rika for making me more perverted :D )
Damn you Miki, always forcing me to pimp you. So Miki is my 2nd fav member and i like her almost as much as Rika. However with Miki it wasn't love at first sight. Which means that i don't really have any funny stories about becoming a Miki fanboy. I liked her Romantic Ukare Mode single and she looked great in Gomattou so i started liking her. And once she joined MM she slowly started to grow on me. And nowadays i totally wanna be her bitch :whip:
There's just something magical about Miki. She doesn't have the greatest body ever but that girl got ATTITUDE. And i just can't get enough of her :)

When I started watching HM, the first girls that caught my attention were the 3rd-4th gen girls, mainly because of their characters in the show. Then later, it was Ai-chan, coz she looked like a kitten. :P The girls who've always been my favourites from the start are Ai-chan, Rika and Yossie. When I first posted at JPM, I was "in love" with Ai-chan because of her singing in Hare, Ame, Nochi, Suki. It lasted for a while until Sakura/Otome's 2nd singles when I found out how boring Sakura girls were and how hot Rika'd been looking (the Otome girls are also much more fun). :P Rika's been my No.1 ever since.
Oh, yeah, and Rika became my fav because I read her interview from Tsunku x MM and found out that she was just like me. And I like me. A lot. So...

Hah, mine was far from love at first site. I remember seeing them on Hey!x3. I went to some sites and looked at all of their profiles and pics. I saw Yossi and was like, "Uh... she's a bit weird and scary-looking," since she doesn't look like the rest. She stood out so it was easy for me to remember her name. Yeah, so I decided to find out more about her and started liking her more and more.

Hah i woudnt say love at first sight but for sure, ive been hard core rika fan since the begining. Which is kinda a long time ago. I first noticed mm while they just debuted, and on Heyx3 Matsumoto made asuka cry, but i generally ignore them. But who really stood out was Kaori. i didnt know her name at all but i happened to catch their first performance of tnapopo on that show, and she was so tall spacy and said the wierdest stuff. I didnt know japanese at the time but just her super serious face as they were obviously teasing her cracked me up. So i decided to check a bit more about this mm, manatsu no kousen (still a fav) was one of the first songs i caught, but then furusato came and ugh hearing nacchi warble live singing this song made me cringe. And then seeing them on 1998 kouhaku siniging daite hold on me, i thought god this group is HORRIBLE! So i knew about them but generally ignored them.
Then maki came on and LOVE MACHINE was a huge hit, and it was hard to ignore them, and hell that was such a catchy song. But after awhile i just kinda got out of mm and japanese music on the whole. Koi no dance site was kinda bleh and up to this point even though i found kaori the most hillarious was an ayappe fan so when she got knocked up and left i just ingored them again. But I mean i cacth their shows sometimes like pucchi moni, but i generally didnt know all their names or who they were.
I heard they got like 4 new members and I thought woah they are NUTS! And i saw when they first came out and I didnt pay much attention. ANd i saw some stuff like I WISH, and happy summer wedding, but again for me they were pretty under the radar. But then by chance I caught the Record Taisho awards for 2000 and I saw rika singing I WISH, and i thought wow who is that girl shes SUPER DARK (compared to the other girls at them time) and she was dancing really well, though she was in the side corner not really in the front she had alot of energy and I noticed her the whole way through. THen suddenly near te end of the song they did a close up of her and she flashed a huge smile and i thought "wow she has the best smile" For some reason im not sure but it was kinda refreshing? It really just made my smile unconciously.
So after that I looked through all my tapes (cuz sometimes id randomly tape heyx3) And found an otome no pasta ni kandou perf and i heard rika sing, i was like ouch! And i also saw some clips from when their first apperaed and they made fun of rikas voice, i couldnt belive her voice. And after that I went on the dancing love site (which i was kinda a member cuz i joined just to find out kaoris name, but i never posted any topics) and started participating more in the boards, and i even started downloading stuff. And generally got really into japanese music all over again.
So till now ive been a rika fan and will be till the very end. ANd even though i was a mm fan i honestly still didnt even make that big of an effort to learn their names or anything, i really was more of a rika fan than an mm fan. And there isnt really another member i could say i even like 1/100 that which i like rika.
Though alot of peopel hate rikas fake cute (including me) and there are tons of stuff about rika which are irritating. I like alot about her, her competitiveness, her unfailing ability to try her hardest, hoer profressionalism, and how she tries her best even when everyone says shes sucks at it, i also feel sorry for her failings, her obvious detachment from reality (a normal human being would be able to recognize when someone is irritated by your fake cute) and how she lives in a place where its encouraged. But ill always be a rika fan for now and forever because yeah she got me back into japanese music and into japanese stuff period, and its probaly changed alot about me.

Well, I'm bored again, so I guess I'll write about more people. I get bored a lot, don't I...
Yossi is a weird case as far as I'm concerned. She has had to come a long way to become one of my favourites, and I'm still not always sure what to think about her. There are some things about her that make me go crazy about her, such as her eyes, voice and attitude. If I knew her in real life, I'd sooo have a huge crush on her (she's actually a lot like my first real crush, only she was much weirder than Yossi). But then there are also some turn-offs that I wouldn't mind in real life, but bother me on tv. Like the way she sometimes does silly expressions or voices, bulges her eyes and stuff, I can't stand it (whether impersonating someone or just trying to be funny). She is funny in skits, though. So, well... I count Yossi now as one of my favourites, but it seems to depend on the day. Sometimes she's just so freaky I don't want to care about her, sometimes I see some really awesome side about her and want to love her forever. Hmm.
Takahashi is such a champion. She was one of my faves at first, I guess, since it's really easy for a newbie to love someone who is both pretty and talented. But then I got to know the personalities of other girls more, and Takahashi got kicked aside. I started to find her boring, although didn't really mind having her around because she was so talented. Then, hmm... I think it was indeed her talent that won me over in the end. The Best of Japan concert in particular impressed me. I also don't find her boring anymore, but still the main reason I like her is her talent. When listening to Momusu songs every time I hear her voice I wish she could get solo material. I'm craving to hear more of her voice and to see her on stage at least in a smaller group than Momusu.

Mine is Maki on Renai Revolution 21.
I was SPEED's fan at that time, and i was waiting for any Ex-SPEED solo PV's on Channel V.
Then RR21 was played, and the first thing that came up on my mind "What kind of song is this, looks like a Para Para song"
10 girls dancing together in a PV, it wasn't normal for me. So i changed the channel. 4 minutes past, i changed the channel back, and i saw Maki on close up. BOOM!!!!! So Cuteeeeeee :oops: (It was also the first time i knew about MM). I was Maki's fan from the time i saw her on RR21, until she cut her hair and use extension hair :thumbsdown Boo...
and the second one is Miki on Roman~My Dear Boy~ perf (MS). She was just PERFECT!!!! :heart: :love: Her face, voice, clothes, dance, e v e r y t h i n g :evil:
Then i'm starting to focus on her everytime i watch every MM perfs & shows.

I first became a fan of MM just before 6th gen joined. The fact that I'm really lousy with names and faces made it so that I didn't realize that the group had grown when 6th gen. joined until about 3-4 months AFTER it happened. I hate to say it but for the longest time I had a bad case of the "they all look the same to me"-itis. I know, I know, I suck.
Anyway, this was before Nacchi graduated (she was the first one I was able to recognize without having to think about it). I had already been finding myself falling hard for her. Then during one of their perfs (can't remember which song), I noticed that one of the other girls sorta looked like Nacchi. They both had big, powerful voices and both had similar hairstyles. When I finally figured out that it was a different person altogether, THAT'S when I fell for Miki. :w00t:
Now I'm proud to say that in my dreams I'm stuck in the middle of an "N-M-M" sandwich (Nacchi-Myself-Miki)

I was a Matsu Takako fan and X Japan fan back in the day, and finally found a very good jpop pv site (was it jpopextreme? I only remember the blue and white color theme of the site) to get some jpop fix. Then I downloaded the RR21 pv coz mm already a well known idol group in asia and I've heard of them a couple times already on HK newspaper, i just want to see what makes them special. Bamn, the next thing i know is long hair Nacci is the hottest girl i've ever seen in my life, and most of the members are cute and pretty too.......even kei looks good in that pv. From that moment on, I am so fucking hooked..........

the peace is the first music video from momusu that i watched n souda were alive is the first music from them that i listened to ... but i start my love to MM after i watch some episodes of hello morning n utaban .... n damn kago n tsuji are super cute and also abe natsumi so freakin pretty n cute ....

The first MoMusu performance I downloaded was Ai Araba on PJ. I laughed my ass off because I thought they were so silly. Somehow I noticed the tall girl in pink who seems more mature than others, and I feel sympathetic for her. I started doing some research and found out her name's Kaori, she's the leader and has never been popular. Aww. Apparently I didn't notice Yossi, coz back then in Ai Araba she had like one yelling line and the camera went by so quick.
Shit happened and I couldn't take my eyes off this kiddy group after some weeks. I began to download their old PVs and do research on them. The first bunch of PVs I watched were I WISH, RR21 and The Peace. Somehow I noticed there's a really, really cute girl with big eyes and looks like a mix. The Peace was a turn-on for me, coz Yossi was just so damn cute in the PV. So darn cute. So darn cute...... my life has never been the same again.
So yea, it wasn't the boyish, cool factor that got me hooked up at first sight. It was actually the cuteness. :lol: Pretty weird, ne?

I saw AI NO TANE PV and Nacchi stood out because I thought she was really cute.
I was really bothered by Kaori for some reason, I think it was her expression in the PV, she looked kinda pissed off or something. So unfortunately, she became my least favorite in the beginning . However, once I saw more of her on shows and such, I started to like her a lot ^^

I saw Morning Musume on a magazine and it had opictures inside. Yuko, maki and nacchi caled my attention but suddenly, the eyes of certain girl took my eyes off the others.... and then I saw the name "Kaori"... :love: the picture wasn't her best picture (indeed, now it is not a good pic of her) but I don't know it just happened! I think it was fate.... :love:

I don't know if Mr Moonlight was good for Yossi's popularity.she had to act more boyish than she might be. At first, I think Goto was more boyish than she was (and I still think goto is definitely the most stylish/ suave in boy's roles). before her 'boy of MM' stint, she was as popular or even more popular than rika I think.

Oh, I totally forgot that I totally hearted Miki from the beginning. I saw her perform Aenai Nagai Nichiyoubi at one of MM's concerts and I like " :w00t: :thumbsup ".

Mari was the one who popped my mm cherry. On one of their many heyheyhey appearances some years back where they gave an utterly abysmal performance by any musical standards, she stood out in the interview. What an amazing person! She made me warm to the rest of the whole mm thing, for which I'm now quite glad. And it led to a string of subsequent mm loves...

I first got into MoMusu when a friend told me about Ayaka's Surprise English Lessons and linked me to some torrents. It wasn't until a few weeks later that I went and downloaded some MM videos, starting with Mr. Moonlight and Souda! We're Alive. In both those videos there was this one girl that really stood out in my mind, so much so that she really was the only one I paid attention to. I screencapped and asked my friend who it was and she told me that it was Ogawa Makoto. I've been in love with her from day 1 and she'll always be my favorite :D

Morning Musume Love most definitely Love at First Sight for me. Rolling as a bum in the summer of 2000 in Hong Kong. Tired of the Canto Pop and Brit Boyband bullshit, I tune into the local MTV channel's Japanese hour and they played a pack of MAX's "Magic" ... Ken Hirai, MISIA, and Morning Musume's "Love Machine" .. I was instantly hooked to Maki's gold locks, Ayappe's "body body" Sayaka's giant, Kaori's flailing in the wedding dress, Yuko's sexy moan, just watching the completely cheesy zany video made me an instant fan. Even though I watched like music videos from future singles incl. all the subgroups and shuffles, I had never the benefit of a JPM or IRC so didn't figure out the Hello! Project until over a year later. Never watched any of their TV programs until I got DSL two years after the fact. You noobs are so lucky!! ROFL!
I was a Maki hardcore fan at first, then Rika, and Nacchi got me hooked too. These are my favorite trio and Rika somehow sifted to the top....
Thank god I chose the right bandwagon to jump on. Imagine if I ended up a MAX fan? LMFAO

Actually I don't even remember how Yaguchi end up as my favorite member. At first I kind of didn't like her...
But I remember that her name was one of the first I learned, because I thought Mari is a weird name for japanese person (Actually I hadn't heard it outside Finland, where it's quite common, before and in the west it's kinda catholic name). This was at the beginning of my jpop-fandom so I didn't know much about japanese names, just something from anime series.
The other name was Natsumi Abe, because I associated "Abe" to "ape" and I thought it was funny :D

Imma write about my favourite Berryz member, Yurina. Well, actually I have two favourite Berryz members, favourites in different ways. :o Yurina is the one I liked the best when I saw my first Berryz PVs and other videos, so that way it was "love at first sight". Then Maiha is the one I liked before I had even seen any Berryz videos, and I still adore her a lot because she's so weird and reminds me of myself. :lol: So I've liked them both a lot from the moment I started paying attention to them. Yurina is just so pretty and awesome that she became an instant favourite; and Maiha just somehow touched my heart (rofl, how corny) from the start. So yeah. They rock.

i hate MoMusu. Before i learned more about them, i downloaded Love Machine PV and found it disgusting -> right click -> delete -> empty recycle bin.
altho i've seen many ppl talking about H!P/MoMusu in Bunko, i don't really care about them. By that time i can only recognise Nacchi and Aibon's face.
then i saw 1 Takahashi's pic, :oops: and decided to search more about this girl. That led me into Ai Araba PV, Sakuragumi, and Sakurasaku concert. Sakurasaku concert made me started to like their song and admit Aibon and Aichan's talent.

I remeber cruising through J-list's porn archive and found a video entitled: "Love Machine", featuring Mami Goto. This skinema classic was described as being a cosplay of one the hottest girls in Jpop and was titled after the most popular pop song in Japan. Of course I had to find some pics of this Morning Musume girl (to test the validity of their supposition), as well as an .mp3 of this song. The ammount of pics and info on MM was staggering. In no time I got tons of pics and stats on everyone upto 3rd gen. (Ironically, I had a pic of the "I Wish" group photo even before I knew of MM...I thought they were so cute and hot!) However finding a copy of "Love Machine" proved quite challenging (I think I would have had an easier time finding the Holy Grail or the Arc of the Covenent). But in my quest I did uncover quite a few other clips and vids. And like everyone else I succumbed to the adoriblity that is Ayaka's Compulsary English Assaults. Although I was more intersted in finding more about Maki, to compare to Mami (Later however I would find that Mami looks very little like Maki, sadly), I instead found a short stack of dynamite named Yaguchi Mari. Since her attempt to tell me where the "Nyarest" subway station was, to the time she cracked her knee cap on the coffee table, I knew I was going to enjoy watching this girl. And I was right: her Tanpopo vids, DJ Mari, Mini-moni, Utaban and Hello Morning skits were thouroughly enjoyable. It seemed not to matter what she did, whatever it was, it was always entertaining. After the "Otome Pasta" PV and her PBs I never understood how people couldn't see how sexy she was...go figure. Anyhoo, I'll always have a deep spot in my heart for this lady. I miss you Mari... :cry:

I started liking H!P Eggs when I realized that several of them are very cute.
...Well, that was a short one...
OH! Actually, I don't think I liked Momoko at all when I first wrote here. But now she's my favourite in Berryz Kobo. What happened? Well, after Maiha left I found myself wondering who my new favourite could be. Yurina didn't feel like a #1 at the moment. I think I started paying more attention to Momo because certain people I admire were saying great things about her and I wanted to know why. I mean really, I thought there was little good about Momo and she was my least favourite Berryz member at some point. But damn... When I did start noticing her, I realized all the praise she got was well deserved. She's a fricking WEIRD, cute little princess! She's got the whole attention-whoring idol thing going on. She's hilarious and easy to make fun of. Also, love or hate her voice, but it's definitely unique and nobody can take that away from her. I hated her voice at first, now I adore it. That's called Momoko Brainwashing Power (c). Anyway, it took a while, but Momo totally won me over with her charming character. Momo is made of Pro and Win.

Back in Feburary or so I was looking for dance vidoes on Youtube. Guess what I found? Nono's suprise dancing lessons. From there I started watching more of the english lessons. Kaori imediately became my favorite with her spacing out and 'comunicating'. Tsuji will always hold a special place with me though for catching my attention. Up untill that point I had heard alot about Morning Musume, but I was never really interested(Kago scandal was going on, so there was ALOT of news.). I didn't like pop music so I just skiped over things relating to them. My how the times have changed.

Okay, here is my story. I went to my friends' room at college and saw them playing a pv "Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari" while the title that has been put there is like "emmm". I had heard about morning musume in my old day and the group name flash back to my brain. So i shout, " ZOMG! this is morning musume! So cute, WTF I want to copy this pv now!" So, from that time I have one musume pv that i keep playing on my computer until my roomate call me musume. Then, it is a semester break about 3 month, so I came home and surfing internet everyday downloading stuff. From there i keep downloading new and old musume PV everyday and burn it into 10 cds.
When the semester break finish, i brought all the musume stuff to college and start distributes it to all my friend and other people over my college network. LOL, this is really exciting because now, even I have finish my study there, morning musume is still freshly living in the heart of many friends and students there. ZOMG, I have spread the love of cute japanese girl and really make me glad. Before this, my computer only full with English stuff such as system of a down, linkin park, alizee and many more genre but now, it's all exchange with the musume love. Ok, thanks all folk.

Well, let's see... Should I start from the beginning?XD
First I didn't know what is MoMusu, but I knew MiniMoni and liked Marippe the most. But somewhere I get few MoMusu songs(Love Machine and Sakura Mankai) It took long time after that and I finally found YouTube.
So, I started to waching Ayaka's Suprise English Lessons with Marippe. Then I moved to the other members. I get to know that these girls were part of Morning Musume, but since I didn't know their names I didn't have favorite member. Altough I liked one more than the others:D
Next I saw some Hello Morning Skit and noticed a funny and good-looking girl. "Who's that? I kind of like her", were my first thought of Her. I found out that She was Yoshizawa Hitomi also known as Yossi or Yossie.
After that I decided that I had to get at least one music video of MoMusu. And suprise, suprise it was Mr. Moonlight(I didn't know Yossi was main singer before I saw it) I watched the PV. Watced it again and again. On some point I figured that I was looking only one person on the PV, who was YossiXD
I think that's the moment when I finally "decided" who is my favorite MoMusu member:heart:

I went over to a friend's house one day and she started playing the peace. I was like "What the crap is this?" She explained monring musume to me but without much detail. So I just nodded and pretended to care. Later, I was told that my friends each had a favorite member. So I watched another PV and they all looked the same. Except Yossi stood out. She was funny, tall and had really big eyes. So I claimed her. And then we were watching mr. moonlight and I said if Yossi ever graduated I'd pick Maki as my new favorite. They told me she had already graduated so I forgot about her. Until I found some episodes of Ayaka's surprise english lessons. She was so out there. Telling Ayaka that she wanted to learn english that would help her when she went abroad. And then saying that she wasn't going abroad. So amazing. And that's how I became obsessed with Maki. After that I had to find more and more things with her. I now blame her for my addiction to this forum and anything else H!P related.

hello eveyone. my first love from morning musume was yagucchan. she was such an outstanding member that it was addictive. i had heard of morning musume from a friend but dismissed it and fell deeper into my old ayu addiction. but then i decided one day to look them up again and after waiting a couple HOURS to download the live performance of Say Yeah! motto miracle night, and The Peace! videos off kazaa lite....(note that this was like 4 years ago...i sadly was one of the late ones to discover the greatness of torrents...and the bunko)...but anyway i totally fell for mari. he energy, voice and size just stood out...apparently being small makes you stand out in my heart....but i eventually forgot them again....until i got hold of the infamous mecha/momusu videos. these brought me in and i have been hooked ever since....seeing the hilarious antics between yaguchi and okamura....such good memories....at the same time however...while accumulating more videos my heart began to split...forming a love for ai and risa...then slowly closing out to focus on risa....her adorable smile...and the fact that she was the same age as me made me like her....shes been simply divine lately but i also miss her old pure and childish self. then during this past year my heart has once again split to add a new up and comer....reina. looking back at her in the kusojo series.....i dont know what made her stand out toe me....but she was always on the radar since then. Watching H!M just reinforced my love for mari and risa, but it also started to raise interest in reina. her style, looks and sort of rough "yankee" appearance was appealing. Once mari left...which totally shocked and saddened me.....it was a tie between risa and reina. both had pbs out and starred in their own futarigoto and other things like that...it just made me like them both so much. however...now that i get to see more reina in the spotlight she is clearly my fave now. risa is a close second and MAY takeover if she gets a boost of airtime like reina has been gettin in the recent singles. so yea thats my story so far...so heres the recap of my MM loves....

You know what, I'm just going to quote myself from The Exotic Disco because I'm feeling lazy right now XD But, I added in a bit more detail.
I was staying in Japan for a bit back in 1999 (wow, I was 10 years old) and was watching some TV at the hotel room, hoping to catch Sailormoon or another cartoon. But, then the "Love Machine" PV was starting on some channel and I decided to watch it out of curiousity. I fell in love with the song, the video and of course...MAKI!
She stood out to me in terms of appearance first of all, her face (shape) was very different from the rest of the girls in the group, but in a good way of course. I guess I found her very youthful looking compared to the rest of the members (with a more round-ish face). Also, that dyed blonde hair was definitely eye-catching! She then stood out to me next in terms of vocals, again it was different in a good way and interested me because I really liked her singing. Overtime, she stood out (and still does) in many more ways!
And at the ending of the Love Machine PV, that infamous wink (and adorable curious look she gives to the guy in the PV) stole my soul forever and I've been supporting Maki the best I can, no matter what. Even if it means getting in trouble once in a while for the amount I spend buying her merchandise, haha.

The ringu clip from FUN introduced me to Morning Musume. The one who caught my eye was Reina, who was simply adorable. I googled for MM and landed on the H!P website. There they were, a bunch of cute girls who got the crap scared out of them by Sadako. I thought they were actresses at first but later found out that they were singers which was cool. Also I couldn't believe how young Reina was back then. That was during the manpower days. I had to take a break from surfing the net for I had to look for a job. After almost a year, I found out about youtube an searched for MM. The first ever PV I saw was JKM which was enough to rekindle my interest in them. I checked back on their website and they were just only 10 members, Reina dyed her hair, and Eri cut her's. Reina was my ultimate favorite back then but I started liking the other members when I was able to watch episodes of H!M. Risa, Rika, Ai, Eri, Miki and just recently, Yossi, were easy to love/like. I still like Reina though. I wanted to learn more about this group and I also wanted some of their merchandise, which are almost impossible to find in our country so I joined forums to make me the fanboy I am today. After a few more weeks, I searched for Berryz in youtube and the rest is history...

I fall in love with Masae the first time I see MKB's midara matendou PV !
I tought : "Oh My God who is this goddess ?"
I start listening HP with Mini Moni and when I first saw MKB It was a schock for me ! Masae looks so mature and different !
First I was also a Nono fan, don't really know why cause she's really the opposite of me :p But after seeing the first MKB concert on DVD I realize that this group is the best girl band of the world :)
I love Masae's voice, face, look, character and even her body ... I like the fact that she didn't have a really hot body like Rika ! She's human ...
Furthermore I always wanted to change the color of my hair like Masae but I don't have the courage :( So I like to see her do what I can't !
Like her rainbow color, when I was 18 it was my dream to do it !! So when I see her like this I thougt : "we have the same ideas !"
I know I will always support her and her career even if MKB dies.

My favorite h!p char is risa niigaki but howevery.. it was after the pv sexyboy before i noticed her and it went a long way.. because before that i also felt that takahashi was better as i oftenly saw her on pvs

My fav member is Takahashi. I noticed her when i got into H!P watching the Go Girl pv thinking "zomg this girl is the cutest of them all!!" lol i slowly got obessed w/ her. There were those "things" she has. lol first it was the accent that got to me, how funny it sounded and how ppl make fun of it; Her amazing singing voice, lol i dunno how many times i've played her version of furusato over and over; she really really REALLY honto pretty :D started noticing it more when i first saw the Namida ga Tomaranai Houkago pv (yknow those slow closeup "beauty" shots); greeat dancer! first noticed it watching the Sexyboy perf on POPJAM when she did that "roll" thing. zomg my jaw dropped and i totally watched that one part over and over. thats when i noticed how even though every member is doing the same dance move, she can really put mmmmph into it :D. but lately i've lost interest in the current Aichan b/c she's been pretty silent for a long time :P. so my second fav, Kamei, might eventually become my fav member. lol i know i typed alot so here's a brief desc of why i like kamei. 1) Kawaii Erien weirdness 2) We're the same age (born a week before her (w00t sagittarius)) 3) the pouty lips. 4) Singing is getting better 5) 17sai was a hot PB!

Yuko drew my attention so bad in RR21 PV. Until then, I had only seen Koi no Dance Site and Happy Summer Wedding, the two PVs that introduced me to MM, and Yuko had already drew my attention on both video clips. It was in RR21 that I started loving her so crazy. Her purple hairy jacket, her blond long hair, and her voice... I fond Yuko to be awesome. And so, so hot.
On the same RR21 PV my love Yoshizawa started to grow. She was a cool girl, a cute face and good looking babe in a blue/turquoise shirt and jeans. Right after Yuko graduated, Yossie became my favorite in MM, sharing the top spot with someone else... Natsumi Abe! Also in RR21, I fell in love with Nacchi's cute face and moves, I couldn't stop watching her parts and I became addicted to her.

My favorite H!P member without doubt and the reason I am here at this forum is Rika Ishikawa.
Back at the end of 2005 I was introduced to Google Video and after looking at a lot of funny and entertaining videos of various genres I decided to do a search for Japanese videos. Before I knew it I was able to view for the first time several videos from the Ayaka English lessons segments. I had no idea what I was watching and never even heard of H!P or HaroMoni. I thought Ayaka was cute, sexy, smart and funny and the girls she interviewed entertaining. I actually went on a mission to find pictures of Ayaka on the Internet, but came up short. One of the girls really stood out from the rest...Rika must have been 16 or 17 at the time ...and I decided to try to learn more about her. The rest is history. I downloaded a few pictures of Rika found the JPH!P site and really began expanding my appreciation for this young beautilful talented woman. As far as a celebrity is concerned this is the closest I have ever come to becoming obsesssed. Old skool Rika, new skool Rika, singing Rika, acting Rika, idol Rika....I love everything about this girl.
I did not really know anything about MoMusu so I listened to a lot of Biyuuden to get familiar with JPOP (until them I had only listened to Anime OSTs and Noriko Sakai with regards to Japanese music). I really wanted to support Biyuuden becasue of my desire to support Rika. When I saw her graduation special from HaroMoni I actually got tears in my eyes. She was so beautiful and poised - I could see how she had matured from those early years on the Ayaka videos. When I learned her favorite song was "The Peace" I started listening to that and other Momusu music.
Well it is now over 9 months since I first had my initial "love at first sight" experience wiht Rika. My admiration and respect for her had grown over those months. She will always mean something special to me and I am glad that I can share my story with like minded people here.
I have expanded my taste and knowledge of H!P during the same time period. I now know more about all the members of MoMusu both past and present and have really developed a taste for JPOP. Not a day goes by that I do not listen to music from the H!P girls. I am now a real fan of Gocchin, Nacchi, Ai-chan, and Mikitty. I watch H!P realted videos now religiously both subbed and unsubbed. I owe all of these great expeiences to the fans of H!P - but the catalyst for all of the fun and enjoyment that I have had stems from my attraction to the talent and beauty of the incredible Rika-chan :heart: :heart: :heart:

Before H!P, I was obsessed with anime, watching just about anything I could download. I once watched a 50-episode series in one day. It wasn't much of a stretch to get into the live-action PGSM, as it brought together anime with cute teenage girls and a hell of a lot of panty shots. From there, it was a pretty short jump from girls playing idols on TV to real idols.
It was early 2005, around when Iida had graduated, when I first got really interested in Hello! Project. I had been previously exposed to H!P by my J-pop obessed friends. I had seen The Peace and All For One, but didn't give them too much thought at the time. It was when my friend posted the Rika vs. Chickens clips when I started to become fascinated by this excessively cute girl with a high-pitched voice and a paralyzing fear of live birds. I'd later find out that this same girl was the center for The Peace and was easily the most eye-catching girl in All For One. She truly has a magnetic quality that comes out on screen.
While Rika's overt cuteness and looks hooked me, Konno's understated cuteness, personality, and intelligence slowly made me into a true fan. Whereas other girls went forth to grab your attention, Konno seemed content to let you come to her.
Konno first caught my attention when I saw the Bakajo test, where she thoroughly thrashed all competition. I always had a thing for the humble and intelligent type. Later, I saw the 13-gakkari Christmas special, which showed a hilariously manipulative Konno. Even though that was fiction, it was fun to think of Konno playing mind games with the rest of Morning Musume.
The photobooks were icing on the cake. Somehow, this quiet, my-pace girl who was always eating (albeit slowly) had a heck of a figure and a way with the camera. As proof of my fandom, I now own each Konno PB, as well as her Alo-Hello DVD. Not even Rika could claim to have caused me to spend that much money for her items.

For me SPEED brought me into j-pop and j-world. Till now my #1 all-time j-pop still belongs to SPEED's Alive.
From then on, i discovered Momusu during a weekly visit to the local cd house. Morning Coffee and Furusato made me a fan but i never had favourites within the group, loved them as a whole. It was only till when the 4th gen came in that i started to lose them and lost them at 1 point.. to Ayumi.
Then 1 fine day, 1 cute girl pulled me back into H!P again. That was Miki. She was just my type of girl, her appearance, personality(if she wasnt faking it (^^);;, her dressing + everything. From then on i followed only her, though i knew what was happening inside Momusu. Soon her PBs, albums were lined up nicely in my drawers and all i could see was her.
Then tradegy struck!! (yes i still believed it was a mistake) She joined Momusu. End of story... not :D Although i preferred her to go solo, it was fun to see her interacting as a group and slowly it brought out the yankeeness within her. But i still love her because deep down somewhere inside her, i still can feel the good old Mikitty that first debuted. The one that stole my heart.

Well.... my favorite H!P member is Nacchi. I saw her first on Renai Revolution 21 PV, shown by a friend but not a H!P fan.
well here's the story:
i was really amazed with her look when i first saw her. She looked really cute, especially in the parts where she is in the red dress costume. Also, when she had the two (pigtail???) hair hanging from the side, she just look so cute there. Also, when i later get to know her more, to be more exact, know Morning Musume more and then Hello! Project, i really like her because of her personalities. I don't really watch Hello! Morning because i live in US and i don't really know Japanese, i just learned a little from listen to Momusu songs, so i watch the Specials with Subtitles, like the Mechaike Okajo and Bakajo. She was really funny in those two Specials.

First jpop artist I ever got into was Utada Hikaru. I read about her in a mag and downloaded her music when I got home. On my 56k connection I had then. :bleed eyes:
This was way back, before I started taking Japanese classes, before my trip to Japan in 2004. Before lots of people had heard of her because of kingdom hearts. Most of the stuff I had of her wasn't her best stuff. It didn't really matter though, I absoluted loved her voice. My favorite song of her's was Can You Keep a Secret.
During that time Hikki was about the only Jpop I listened to. All else was rock music and jpop from anime. Anime was about the only Japanese thing I was watching then. <.<
As soon as I discovered I could start taking Japanese classes...wow. Yeah, I was pretty happy. Not long after that I got a cable internet connection too. I started downloading anime shows on the internet, browsing J-Rock rotations sites and whatever I could find every day. And watching the stuff with fellow classmates. So I saw alot more PVs and such now. I wasn't into any artist other than hikki still.
During the time I was in Japan I bought a issue of shonen jump. I had wanted to buy some manga while I was there. And when I saw one with W on the cover I had to buy it. Of course I didn't know it was W at the time. I did see aibon and nono before then though. I had seen them before in a momuse PV. Yeah, I thought they were adorable. And I had to buy that issue. I thought they were both cute but I liked aibon more. I stared at that mag quite alot when on the trains and whatnot in Japan. Oddly enough I didn't even really realize that the girls on the cover I thought were cute were the same girls I had seen on the PV before... <.<;;
I knew I liked aibon from that momusu PV and then went on to buy a comic book just because it had her on the cover. Twas fate. And twas love at first site. It's a pretty big deal I think that I bought that comic book just because it had them/her on the cover.
When I came back home it was more Japanese classes and more downloading J-Rock/J-Pop/Anime again. I discovered all the J-Rock download sites because they were all linking to each other and so I went from site to site all the time. Putting the good ones in my favorites. Eventually one of the rotation sites linked to a place called Public MM Torrents. I leeched from there for a while. Mostly downloading J-Rock. They didn't just have momusu but jpop and jrock as well. One of files I downloaded was minimoni the movie: Okashina Daibouken. It was awesome. I was thinking to myself how I loved Japan's cute culture and how I could watch movies like this all day. At first of the movie I was also like "these girls look awfully familiar....". I didn't realize till about halfway through the movie that they were the same girls that were on my comic book! I went crazy. Not only was this an awesome movie, it had those girls. It was kinda hard to figure out because the comic book was them in W when they were older and this movie was them in minimoni when they were younger. Still kind of embarrassing that it took me halfway through the movie though.
This was a turning point for me. This public MM place, though it had various jpop and jrock had a theme. A theme with a bunch of girls on the banner that would change each time you refreshed. After watching the movie, I downloaded more various things. J-Rock, J-Pop and sometimes the stuff that the site was truly for, h!p. I figured out fairly quickly that those girls were part of that group that this site was about. But not long after that, Public MM torrents went down. Permanently. I went back to my old rotation sites for a while. But I kept on the lookout for finding another place that had Japanese music torrents. Rotation sites were getting kind of old to me. I eventually tried to figure out if Public MM was making another place. Sites often change Urls or locations or whatever. Since I had figured out MM stood for Morning Musume. So I googled it. I ran into several sites, and like I figured, aibon was a part of this thing. I had to find another place to download like I did last. I searched harder and with a sense of urgency I never had before.
With this urgent searching I eventually ran into hello!online. One of the first torrents I put up was the video I got from public mm, the minimoni movie. With each new site I looked at and each torrent I downloaded at hello!online my love for aibon grew more and more intense.
And that's how I got to where I am now.

My first favorite H!P member was Kago. I remember searching for Gackt clips on YouTube and came across the Gackt and Kago "date". I thought she was really cute, funny, and sweet, and I saw more clips of her (mainly in Minimoni) and I instantly became a fan.
How I became a fan of Yossie, my current favorite member, I have no idea. I think it started with seeing the skits in Hello! Morning and seeing a clip of a H!M 2005 Shuffle episode where Yossie said 'OH MY GAH' after losing a sexy pose competition or something. :lol:

well, the second member i fell in love at first sight is Goto Maki, also first seen her from Renai Revolution 21, almost the same as the story i posted earlier.
at first i thought she was Sayumi Michishige, because i read from wikipedia.org, while researching about Morning Musume, i was only reading the current members part, which i didnt know back then, and at Sayumi information part, i read that she likes to do the peace thing next to her ear or something and part of that did happen in Renai Revolution 21 PV, with Goto Maki, towards the end. But then when i found another site, which show the members and the picture of them in each PV, if available, and i found that i was actually wrong. But then, when i got to know her more, i start to not like her as much as i did. the reason i liked her from Renai Revolution 21 was because she looked really gorgeous in the PV, thinking that she looks like around 21-23 but seems so cute at that age, but she wasn't that old back in that PV.

lool a girl of other forum was asking me why i´m a fon of Takahashi... well, when i started watching MM videos, i find Reina quite cute and whith a good voice but suddenly i watch the Iroppoi Jirettai PV and i watch Takahashi dancing so sexy, so cute and so good at singing *o* it was perfect... so don´t care if i´m just another fan of Ai-chan, that´s how it is... oh but at first i tought she was chinese O_O don´t know why.

I first got into H!P about 5 years ago with some Mini Moni. videos. My friend manamin and I thought they were hilarious, but didn't really follow up much except I kinda wondered at one point where "that orange haired girl" went. :dunno:
Then in 2004, someone mentioned on a forum that Mini Moni. had disbanded. I had no idea at the time that they were a current group, so I decided to research this. I found out that it was a subgroup of that Morning Musume. thing and that Tsuji and Kago (who I still couldn't tell apart at this point) had just graduated! I downloaded the concert for giggles and then, like a beacon of light, There was Yossi. And it was good. :luvluv2:
I immediately wanted to know who this funny, boyish, hot girl was. I did some research, downloaded some PVs, then the entire discography, then started buying concerts and photobooks, and, uh... here I am 3 years later wearing an ungodly expensive Yoshizawa Graduation necklace and obsessively buying Gatas singles. :hee:

i havent been into H!P for very long so my first PV was Kanashimi Twilight..
when i watched it the main girl that caught my eye was some tall chick with a green tie..
..and so it began.
but, i've never really been the kind of person to judge someone solely on looks, so i started watching some hello morning episodes.
the more i watched, the more i liked :grin:
i dunno what brought my attention to her the most. Yossie just stuck out to me.. and now i'm obsessed.. but i wouldn't have it any other way :)

I first got into MM when the 6th gen just started. My favorite members were Kaori, because of her long hair (I have long hair) Mari (because of her spunk and strength despite being short) and Aibon because she was so cute, and because I was a big Tanpopo/Minimoni fan (I loved the messages MiniMoni's songs taught to children. better than Kirari IMO)
Then when I saw the 6th gen in various things, I liked Reina because she was the most talented, spunky, had style, and again, was the short one.
Now my favorite members are Koha and the pandas esp. JunJun.
For Koha:
When I saw her audition I have to admit, I was very disappointed. I thought why couldn't one of the good ones get in, and that "miracle" meant that it was a miracle she got in. But when I saw her on H!M and Dokyu I loved her dorky enthusiasm!!! And I still do, plus she's bloomed into quite the beauty!

You know, or you don't know, but my favorite member is Tsugunaga Momoko-himesama (XD).
But some people probably do not know that my favorite member was Tokunaga Chinami at first, like when I got into Berryz Kobo and wasn't around JPH!P. You might guess right, because Chinami is genki and cute and you cannot really dislike her, she is not even very boyish like some member in some other group ( :lol: - no offense, I like that member too). Thus I still care about her and still like her. Still, I also always had some kind of "special connection" to Momoko. Simply because of her Name. I was still more into anime around that time and like.. of the anime "Wedding Peach" the main girl is called Momoko (I didn't know Momoko is peach in English), but even more important is the fact that someone in my community called herself Momoko, so I already had some kind of association hearing that name.
This and her appearance had likely been the reason why I always paid attention to her, I just liked Chinami better at first. Actually I wasn't sure if I should tend to "not like Momoko" or to "love her".
But then, when I was more around this forum, Tama and her - at this point - strong liking for Momoko showed me how awesome Momoko is. It was the last bit I needed to love her, since I didn't know much about the members at all before. So I finally decided to become momowota, starting by just paying more attention to her in multimedia such as concerts and PVs and now not ending but reaching a high level with buying almost everything I can get with her (Sports Festival Momoko edition, Berryz DVD mag 8. Momoko edition, some t-shirt of her twice ..), printing pictures of her and putting both her stuff (t-shirt and other goods) as well as the printed pictures at places in my room I look often at. Yeah... even real worshiping isn't something I would negate... but I am not going into further details at this point ^-^
So... fuck yeah, I love her! Just not really at first sight :oops:

For me, it was in June 2006, I was in youtube(big surprise there lol) and happened to see a video of W's "Shiroi Iro wa Koibito no Iro" which led me to one of H!M karaoke videos. They were singing "Koko ni Iruzee". I immediately thought the song was catchy XD
Then, it was this girl's turn to sing and ofcourse that girl was Yossie :heart:
When she belted out the lines "BREEEEEEAK THROUGH!!!" and laughed, I immediately liked her.
She made me laugh so hard :lol: I had to rewind that part several times because it was hilarious to me. The way she said those lines were just XD
She stood out to me.
Then I went on to search more on Morning Musume, and saw several PVs, I remember watching Sexy Boy and looking for Yossie and bam! She had grown up! HAHA it took me a while to know how many MM PVs there was so watching them out of order confused me at first but then I started recognizing everyone's face. I learned more about Yossie and her awesome personality and yep that was it, I was a Yossie fan.
So yeah, I liked Yossie the very first time I saw her.
She made me laugh :grin:
Yossie is still my favorite member up to this day.

The first time I saw Morning Musume was when I was in Japan in Nov 2006. They were preforming the opening song for the World Volleyball Championships. Then I caught part of an episode of Hello! Morning where they performed Aruiteru in the band outfits. That caught my attention, but I had no idea who the were. On the plane home though I was going through the song lists and found them on there with their name in romanji. So, when i got home I looked them up on youtube.
The first video I found and watched was the Morning Musume Vs The Lizard one which I found hilarious but it took me ages to realise that most of the people (if not all - I can't remember who's in that clip) weren't in the group anymore. Very confusing.
The first PV I watched was Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari and the person that stood out to me straight away was Reina. I watched that PV a number of times and checked people against the pictures on Wikipedia so I could work out who was who and Reina still remained my favourite :heart:

My first MoMusu member love is Kamei Eri. although i probably first saw here in the sexy boy PV and was curious who the cute girl is (although all the girls is cute). When watching the pv on youtube, i was reading the comment and someone mention kamei in the comments about the cute girl with the fang, i was curious. But when i really started to fall in love with her was when she was on a FUN episode on 2003-11-21, they appeared wearing Go Girl! Koi no Victory costumes, but split up as otome and sakura gumi.
anywayz... when they were playing a "memorize and answer game," they were naming animals and makoto said lion and then kamei said "lion king" watch video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JP_fR3ZHjqQ) @ 00:48. although i didn't knew much about her or morning musume during then. i somehow loved her for her hilarious outburst. that's when i started loving her before i even knew her... or her name.

My very first favorite H!P member that i ever liked was Mika Todd. xD I stumbled onto Lucky CHA CHA CHA on youtube, and after that, I was hooked. She was so cute back in the Mini moni days, and she was the only one that spoke good english. lol.
Now, onto Momusu. Niigaki was and is my favorite MM member. She is totally like me, and her smile... OMG it's to die for!

I was searching for youtube videos of Morning Musume and was watching a live performance. I'd been curious about them for about a year before that but I'd never taken the time to do more than see a couple of PVs until then. I don't even remember which performance it was now, but I do remember her eyes. Someone commented "Who is that girl? Her eyes burn into me." I was curious who he meant, so I looked for her. And there she was, looking right into my soul with those big, beautiful brown eyes. I had seen her but not actually really noticed her until that moment. I was suddenly intrigued, so my search became at that moment a mission to find out everything I could about her. I soon discovered the Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~ PV... and that completely, totally sealed the love from that moment on. The years since then have been filled with complete and total adoration of her. :heart: :heart: :heart: Whether smoothly dipping Ogawa Makoto beneath a star-filled sky in the Mr. Moonlight PV or fangirling over Ronaldinnho, Yoshizawa Hitomi is and always will be my favorite. :wub:

I got into J-pop from a friend when I was in 5th grade. She had a Momusu CD and I thought it was hilarious. The first song we listened to was The Peace! I was dancing around like an idiot and laughing my head off because it made me think of those Japanese radio exercises (rajio taiso) I also got into SMAP (not much anymore) and Utada Hikaru.
My current favs are Mikitty and Gocchin (i like them equally so yeah) My original favorite was Shige-san because she was soo damn cute! I first saw her in the booklet that came with Morning Musume Best 2 and I was obsessed with her. I also thought Mako and Reina looked really cool and Gaki's smile was/is very captivating)
Then i got the 4th Ikimasshoi album and there came Gocchin. I was like, who is this really cool, sultry looking girl? Then I found out and started listening to her solo songs. First was Suppin to Namida, which I love to this day. I somehow got really into her style and found her blog. She then took over my life from there.
I don't remember how I began liking Mikitty but I'm glad that I did.
