Storms Never Hurt The Sky
The Calm Before The Storm
It’s already been three months since me and Eri started dating. Much to both of our relief’s no-one’s found out about us and we’ve not fought. I’m not sure how long things will stay like this though. At some point something’s going to test our relationship. Lately I’ve been thinking about me and Eri’s secret. We’ve not told any of the members yet…
It’d be hard telling them. We’re not allowed to date and everyone might not support two girls – especially their friends/workmates – dating. I kind of doubt it since a lot of the girls seem to be that way as well; all over Hello!Project.
“Gaki-san?”
I blinked at the sound of a very familiar voice.
“…Eri…” I said.
A worried look was plastered all over her face.
“Are you okay?” she asked. She was leaning forward in front of the bed, her hands on her knees. Her hair was up in a bun but her bangs were freely flowing down the side of her face.
“…Sorry. I’m fine. I was just thinking,” I replied.
“Oh? About what?”
She sat down on the bed, her vanilla shampoo scent flooding my senses with sweetness, her body less than a meter away. I turned my position on the bed so that I was facing her.
“Do you think it’s alright like this? You know… not telling the others?”
I saw a flash of understanding in her eyes. A small smile crept onto her lips.
“I guess that I’m not the only one thinking about that.” She paused. “Honestly, I feel kind of guilty. I mean, they’re our friends and they deserve to know but...I’m scared.”
“I know what you mean…”
“…Do you think that we should tell them?” Eri nervously asked.
I gently took her hands in my own and leaned forward, placing my lips on hers. Pulling back a few seconds later, I smiled victoriously at seeing the shy blush that illuminated her face.
“W-What was th-that for?”
“For being so adorable.”
She shyly glanced to the side, purposely avoiding eye-contact.
“Whatever you choose, I’ll stick by you,” I stated. I caught her lips in another sweet kiss.
“Thank-you.”
I was woken up for the umpteenth time that night by Eri tossing around. A frustrated sigh was exhaled.
“Can’t sleep? You’re like a fish out of water,” I asked.
A small squeak of surprise escaped her throat.
“Yeah, sorry… Did I wake you?” the girl apologised.
“Yes,” I confirmed, “But don’t worry, this is only the 56th time,” I teased. Eri let out a weak chuckle.
“What’s wrong?” I asked now fully awake.
“I’ve been thinking about our conversation earlier,” she explained.
“Oh, the one about telling the others?”
I turned onto my side to face her. She ran one hand through her hair, staring straight up at the ceiling.
“Yeah…”
“I still stand by what I said, you know.”
She turned to me.
“Eh?”
“No matter what you choose, I’ll stick by you. And if that means telling the others about us then I will never waver from your side,” I said.
Eri blinked a few times, her eyes sparkling through the darkness of the hotel room.
“Really?”
“Really.”
I felt her arms wrap around my waist as she leapt at me. I smiled.
I’m so selfish. You keep doing things for me while I do nothing but take,” she mumbled into my chest.
I stroked her hair.
“That’s not true. You do so much for me; so much more than you can imagine. You love me; that’s more than enough.”
Silence filled the room as we continued to hug.
“Gaki-san?” You’re voice was laced with sleepiness.
“Mmm?”
“I really do love you.”
I felt my heart warm at those words.
“I know, Kame. I know. I love you too.”
I could sense you smiling. Even minutes later after you had fallen asleep, your smile was still there.
“Sweet dreams, Kame.”
I felt myself begin to drift off.
“I really do love you too.”
