A Korean woman addicted to plastic surgery has been left unrecognisable after her obsession led her to inject cooking oil into her face.
Hang Mioku, now 48, had her first plastic surgery procedure when she was 28; hooked from the beginning she moved to Japan where she had further operations - mostly to her face.

There was a documentary about this the other day on TV, it was too depressing to watch the whole thing.
-
Jeez, she was cute too, if that pre-op picture of hers was any indication.

That's just insane. What kind of doctor would put more stuff into her face after it got so big already? They should've figured out there was something wrong with her psychologically. I know they're not the same doctors that treat patients, but they still have to be doctors to be able to perform these surgeries right? That last doctor especially should be locked or at least not able to perform a procedure again for letting her do stuff to herself.

For some reason this made me really sad. I hope she'll come to better sense and will be treated for whatever disorder she has.

I saw the documentary of this too in Japanese. I felt sad watching the program, she couldn't see what she was doing to herself. The part that shocked me the most was when she started to look for something to put in her syringe and found cooking oil. :-\ And she still thought she was looking better when her face ballooned so much.

that's terrible, I feel sorry for the poor woman.
doctors really need to start helping these patients after they've gone through a certain number of procedures already and advice them against getting any more.

There really should be some limit to how much procedures one can get done to themselves and once a doctor notices there is something psychologically wrong, something should be done earlier on. It also makes me very sad that the mental health services are of so high price that people can't afford to have them when they clearly need them.
Surprisingly I didn't feel at all disgusted by the fact that she injected cooking oil to her face, I just feel very bad for her and hope she can sometime lead a more healthy, happier life.

I remember hearing about this when it first got announced, and I still think it's just as messed up. Medical condition you say? And here was me thinking that a perfectly normal person would inject cooking oil in to their face. I love these "experts" sometimes.

Oh man, I saw this on TV and  I was a bit scared. I feel kinda bad for the woman, you know?
-
I almost said something that would have been so... but anyway, I decided to read and look at the pics before continuing. Damn, that's just really sad. Isn't it a LAW for doctors to conduct psychoanalysis before proceeding onto more procedures from an obvious addict? Or is that just in America?

Her face became so grotesquely large that she was called "standing fan" by children in her neighbourhood - due to her large face and small body.
Couldn't help but to laugh at that..
Children can be so cruel... Even more so when they are right..
